Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). A great selection of titles, inspired me to pick up couple of books, including Outlawed and Sorrow and Bliss. However I would love to be able to read it much earlier, before all the titles were published.

I love the samplers like this that give hints as to what is coming during a year, it gives you warning of what is coming and you can start the buzz well in advance.

What a great selection of literary fiction coming from Orion in 2021 and such a variety of stories! I loved dipping into each one and was very excited to have a sneak peek. In particular, I'm really looking forward to Fault Lines, Outlawed and Sorrow and Bliss

None of the samples hooked me, to be honest. I found the writing clever but lacking in depth. I didn’t care about any of the characters and found no themes to hold my attention. I was disappointed.

Orion Literary Fiction Sampler gave me the opportunity to sample some recently published and some soon to be published books. An impressive list of authors work is on offer.
There are a number of books that are now on my reading list but my favourite piece and one I’m looking forward to is Moth by Melody Razak.

This was a great sampler of 2021 literary fiction, I am especially excited for Fault Lines, Fidelity, Moth and The Preformance. I have already read and very much enjoyed outlawed.

I always appreciate the opportunity to see what is coming up and to get a taste of books I might not otherwise choose to read. I have now added several of them to my reading wish list.

A superb insight into what’s coming over the hill,
all the more important given the uncertainty caused by the pandemic. Suffice to say there are some really exciting titles sampled and this is a fantastic way to get under the skin and find some gems among the crowds. I will be sweeping for ARCs or pre-ordering several!

Brilliant idea

I enjoyed this literary fiction sampler from Orion. I have heard a lot of praise for Meg Mason's Sorrow and Bliss and this was the definitely the highlight of the sampler for me and a novel I am really looking forward to reading.

Fantastic opportunity to read some chapters of upcoming literary fiction books by Orion. Few ones which I probably would have scrolled past before. Excited to read The Octopus. Man

Unfortunately none of these were really for me. I have a really hit and miss relationship with Sci Fi so this is probably more me than the stories.

This Orion literary sampler had a wide and diverse selection of writers and books to enjoy and consider. It includes writers such as Emily Itami, Marco Missiroli, Anna Beecher, Anna North, Jasper Gibson's The Octopus Man and the The Perfomance by Claire Thomas. My favourite piece to read was Moth by Melody Razak. Really appreciated this literary sampler of upcoming literary fiction.
