A short story that has a wife who is bored and starting an affair only to see that man involved in a car accident and when arriving at the hospital there is another woman there. really can of seeing where everything was going before it happened.
I received a complimentary copy of Betrayal in exchange for an honest review. This was a super quick read and very to the point with a predictable twist at the end. It's worth the read to see if you can predict the ending.
I am sorry to say, I had a hard time with the writing style of this short story. It is less than thirty pages, but there is an excessive use of exclamation marks throughout, which I found very distracting. Had I been drawn to the characters and the story I could have overlooked that, but I DNF'd around the halfway mark.
There! are! so! many! exclamation points! one of my biggest literary pet peeves and so many of them are unnecessary. I didn't expect a short story, and so can't really give a proper review as there just wasn't enough there to review. If it was padded out into a full novel I'm sure it would be good, if predictable.
Betrayal by John Allan Spencer left me feeling a bit disillusioned as I had no idea when I started reading that this was a short story. You basically got the gist of the summary except for a twist in the final two sentences of the story. #Betrayal #NetGalley
