Chronicling the history of that tight friendship that Nat and Zoe have – that friendship about which we can all empathise – this is a novel that touches on many subject matters and handles them all seamlessly. From meeting in the school toilets to relationship woes, boyfriend troubles and work ups and downs, Nat and Zoe know that they’ll always have each other no matter what obstacles come their way. After all, remaining BFFs is the easiest promise they’ll keep… right? Lucy puts female friendship under the microscope is this sharply observed but witty novel, the type we’ve come to expect from her. You can’t help but feel compassion towards Nat and Zoe even when they’re making the wrong choices – and this type of uplit is really what we need for all of 2021.
