Wow what a fantastic read. Dont want to give anything away and spoil it for readers but what I will say is this is a really brilliant story that keeps you gripped from the beginning, I wasn't expecting it to turn out like it did but it was very well done ,even though I guessed who might be involved. One of the best psychological thrillers I've read .A must read

I enjoyed reading Both of You. It's packed with suspense and I raced through the book. The plot is centred around two missing women, and many of the characters are potential suspects. There are some great twists throughout, although I did guess the first major twist as I read the chapter. I also guessed who the culprit was in the end. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a pacy, easy to read thriller - perfect escapism.

Over the years I’ve become a fan of Adele Parks work. This book is no different and quickly drew me in to the story. This one mainly focuses on two missing women.
I particularly enjoy her writing style and the ability to capture the characters on a page as well as if they were alive in your brain

This was an unusual read about two missing women, both seemingly happily married with nothing amiss in their lives. Leigh loves being a stepmum even if her elder stepson has been challenging lately and Kai seems to be living the dream with her wealthy husband. When the same police officer starts investigating the disappearances she soon realises there is an unexpected connected.
I enjoyed this, the link was a wow moment however I did work out the culprit halfway through which removed some of my enjoyment but there was plenty evidence offered that could have lead to other suspects very easily, it was actually the lack of finger pointing that made it obvious! That said it had a good narrative and enough twists to keep my interest, 7/10

I love Adele Parks books but thought this bit different. Concentrates on 2 missing women. Leigh and Kai and about their stories and their family life.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
This, I loved. So hard to put down. Loved the way it was written..
I felt the characters were described so well and you could picture them, the balance of how the past and present was perfect and you could see how the character ended up on that position.
A gripping read, don’t want to give any spoilers and you want to continue reading to find out what happens in the end.
Highly Recommend It

This got interesting very quickly to the point I couldn't put it down.
Really good to have a book based just before the country entered lockdown and altho I worked out what was happening quite early on, it is still definitely a great read!

You could be forgiven for thinking that Leigh Fletcher has it all: great husband and two gorgeous stepsons whom she adores. Then, one Monday, she went to work and never came home. Mark, Oli and Seb are shattered. Well, Mark and Seb are but Oli's sixteen and at the stage where he thinks boredom is his best look. He's been a bit off with Leigh for a while but she put it down to him growing up and starting to become independent. Seb's only twelve and Leigh's absence hits him hard. Then Daan Janssen, a wealthy Dutch businessman, reports his wife, Kai missing. She too has vanished without trace.
DC Clements is only too well aware that a lot of women disappear, but these two come from very different backgrounds and the cases are unlikely to be connected. On a whim, she goes to see Daan Janssen and the two women look startlingly similar. Perhaps there is a connection after all.
It's March 2020 and the UK is about to go into lockdown for the first time: there's a sense that nothing will ever be quite the same again. It certainly won't be for Mark Fletcher and Daan Janssen. They're very different characters. It was a second marriage for Mark: Frances, his first wife, died of cancer and he married Leigh within the year: not everyone thought this was a good thing but for the past decade she's been marvellous with the boys. Mark is a bit laid back. When a problem came up he was quite likely to say we shouldn't get into it and it often fell to Leigh to sort matters out. Daan Janssen was the opposite. He and Kai lived a life where supper parties were carefully planned but apparently oh-so-casual. The couple were booked up for social engagements weeks in advance: everyone wanted a slice of the high-flying businessman and his beautiful wife. But Daan and Mark have far more in common than either of them could have imagined. Sounds complicated? It's going to get a lot worse.
The story's told by the women concerned, including Fiona Phillipson, Leigh's best friend since they were at school together. Gradually, we start to build a picture of what's happened, although it will be a long time before we find out the why of it. You'll have your suspicions about who was behind the disappearances - it's a very short list of possibles - but Adele Parks still manages to produce a jaw-dropping finale which I simply didn't see coming despite all the clues being there. It's a book you read firstly to find out who did it and then you go back and read again to find out how the author constructed the plot without giving everything away.
I'd like to thank the publishers for making a copy available to the Bookbag.
For more from Adele Parks, I can recommend Lies Lies Lies.

A compelling read!
This story is full of twists and turns and kept me gripped to the end!
Two women go missing one is a step mum of two boys and the other is the wife of a rich Dutch businessman , the tale that ensues is fast paced , enthralling and chaotic.
The writing is the calibre that I have come to expect from Adele Parks , the characters are not affable in their nature and doubt is cast upon most of them. DC Clements’ narrative was an enlightening one and also the facts and figures of missing people and murdered women was a sobering point in the book .
Altogether a great read although dark at times. Highly recommended!
Thanks to NetGalley and HQ.

I have not read much of Adele parks but I am actually enjoying the ones I have.
This book had me gripped from the beginning. I really liked the twisty plot. I liked the characters too.

Utterly gripping, I raced through this one and was kept guessing right till the end. It is so well written and the way the sort it gently unravels, keeps the intrigue up throughout. The characters are very real, though not entirely likeable! Loved it and highly recommend.

I did skim through a great deal of this book. It didn't seem to hold my attention. In parts it was really captivating. I did work out who done it about half way through but did persevere and read to the end

Another great book from Adele Parkes. Leigh Fletcher and her friend Fiona have been friends for years and know everything about one another. They are at the park having a picnic when Leigh notices a little boy fall and hurt himself. She rushes to the aid of the dad, Mark and over time they become romantically involved and marry. She is stepmom to two boys and loves the family dynamic. One day she goes missing. She works away from home part of the week and does not return when expected. Mark reports her missing and DC Clements gets involved with looking for her. At the same time a wealthy businessman, Daan Janssen, reports his wife missing. DC Clements visits both men and asks for photographs of their wives. Daan Janssen’s wife, Kai, is the same person as Leigh, Mark’s wife. Neither of them know about the other and both are completely broken hearted when they find out that Leigh/Kai has married both. Both men come from different worlds, Mark plodding along with his wife and children living an easy life and Daan having wealth and able to spoil Kai completely. Has she run away from the drama of trying to live two lives or is there more to the story. The story begins to unfold in a way I was not expecting. It twists and turns and the ending was not what I expected – it did leave me thinking a sequel would work

Yet again Adele completely delivers in a mind-blowing, epic, physically gasp while you read drama.
A complete shock factor in this one which makes you just not able to put this book down, even for a second.
A missing wife and mother shakes a family as they believed they had a happy family life. A few miles away another missing woman is reported also. Cue to chaos, drama, shock, twists, turns and everything else in between. Its devastatingly brilliant.

2 women are missing just as the pandemic is hitting the uk.
Leigh married to Mark with 2 children and Kai married to a Dutch millionaire. Both appear to have happy yet very different lifestyles.
Is there a link between their disappearance?
I liked this story and it was intriguing to see where it was heading.
I have enjoyed Adele Parks previous books, and this was an enjoyable read. I found myself racing through to find out what happened.

Rating: 3.4/5
Adele Parks' previous novel, "Just My Luck" was one of my favourite reads of 2020, so I was very much looking forward to getting my hands on her latest offering. "Both of You" is an enjoyable, (mostly) well-paced and, at times, ludicrously amusing read, but it doesn't hit the high notes in the way that "Just My Luck" managed to do.
It is difficult to touch directly on much of the plot without disclosing spoilers, so I will refer you to the official synopsis as an outline rather than risking further details here. Suffice to say that the very premise of the story does require the reader to buy into an unlikely, but just about plausible scenario. I was quite happy to grant the author the necessary artistic licence and allow myself to be carried along with the entertaining storyline that she was creating.
The cast of characters are almost exclusively either dislikeable or unlikeable, but that is very much the essence of what makes this fun to read ... they deserve their comeuppance and there is a crude joy in watching it unfold. There is a mystery element underpinning the plotline too. Adele Parks throws in some red herrings and deliberate misdirection, but seasoned readers of the genre will have pieced together most of the puzzle by the time the solution is officially revealed.
Although I thoroughly enjoyed the majority of the novel (I do find Adele Parks' writing style quite engaging), I was a touch disappointed by the final 10-15% of the book. Developments had been so carefully constructed prior to that point, but then it suddenly all seemed a bit rushed. It was a little reminiscent of long-running serial dramas on television, when the scriptwriters have clearly been informed that there will be no subsequent series, so they need to swiftly tie up any loose ends in the final two episodes.
Overall, this was an enjoyable romp and I will no doubt be back for the author's next piece of work.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for supplying an ARC in return for an honest review.

I hit that request button like lightning whenever I see that there's a new Adele Parks novel available - an author who never disappoints! "Both of You" was no exception - a beautifully written, engaging, and twisty thriller (so twisty that I can't write much of a review for fear of spoilers!). We follow initially, two female protagonists (though others add to the story with their own narratives): Leigh, happily married to Mark, and stepmother to his two sons, and Kai, wife of a very wealthy Danish business man. Both go missing in the same week. Both their husbands swear it is completely out of character, that their wives would never just disappear without a word. Neither is telling the complete truth...
I loved this book and couldn't put it down once I started. It's cleverly written with complex characters, every one of which is keeping their own particular set of secrets. Highly recommended.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher, who granted me an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was excited to read this as I love Adele’s work....
the story is arch in London during the covid 19 pandemic....
LEigh Fletcher, a happy devoted mum wife and Kai Janssen, who is married to a Dutch millionaire, both go missing... Dc Clements is put in charge of their cases and feels they may be connected.... but are they?
Full of twists and turns I devoured this book. I did guess the ending and I was slightly let down by that but I would happily recommend this to anyone. A perfect summer read

What a great book!! How complex are peoples lives & how we really don't know our close friends that well! Leigh meets & marries Mark, a widower with two sons. Life looks good & everything is going well, or so it seems. Things take a turn for the worst & she finds herself changed to a radiator in a room being held captive. So many twists & turns in this book that I loved. It grips you from the begining & takes you to places that you do not expect. Another great book by Amanda Prowse.

Well, I thought I knew what an Adele Parks book would involve but I was left speechless more than once by this.
Both Of You tells the story of two missing women, vanished without a trace and leaving their husbands behind. What links them and their disappearances? And why?
I really don’t feel I can give more details without giving clues away! I will say that this book is Adele’s best yet and one part in particular literally took my breath away! Would highly recommend this title.
