I knew very little about Both of You before starting it, and I’m so glad of this because I got to enjoy lots of surprises, twists and mystery…

Wife and stepmother to two kids, Leigh, goes missing on a work trip. Her husband reports her missing. Not long after, Kai, wife to a wealthy Dutch businessman, also goes missing. DC Clements suspects that there is a link between the two…

I don’t want to say too much about the plot as it will give too much away, but it’s a real page-turner and a book that I didn’t want to put down. It’s not really what you’d call an ‘action-packed read’ – a lot of it focuses on character development and the slow reveal of exactly who these two women were – but Adele Parks writes in such an absorbing, entertaining way that I never felt bored. I also didn’t feel that the occurrences within Both of You‘s pages were too dramatic or unbelievable, it was just very readable. I felt myself get pulled into the plot, which has plenty of intrigue and domestic strife, and I can say that without a doubt I hugely enjoyed it.

I guessed one of the twists a little while before it was revealed but this didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment. I haven’t read any of Adele Parks’s novels before, so I’m not sure how like her other novels this one is, but it certainly made me want to read more by her!

I enjoyed this book and the twists kept me guessing through to the end.

An easy read with interesting concepts.

Thankyou #netgalley for allowing me to read this book before it’s published
I love Adele Parks books so was very excited to get this book but I was a little disappointed it was not up to Adele s usual high quality writing the premise is two women go missing the police look at three and nothing seems unusual until it appears the woman is one woman who is a bigamist! But a very clever woman who manages to keep both lives completely separate and now she is gone
Has one husband taken her? Or both? Where is she?

Both of You is the story of Leigh who is happily married with two step-children but one day she disappears. Her husband is slow to report her missing as she works away during the week so he wasn’t sure when exactly she disappeared. We follow him, and the detective who is working on the case. Then soon after another woman is reported missing by her husband and it’s in similar circumstances and this is when the tension begins to ramp up. I found this book really fast-paced and while I spotted whodunnit early on my enjoyment was not marred by this as I was so invested in the why and the how. There are quite a few suspects and suspicious happenings throughout the book which does put you off the scent somewhat, which I liked. I read this book in just a day as I didn’t want to put it down, I needed to know if my suspicions were correct and to see how it would end. I would say that the ending is very abrupt and you are left reeling a little bit by that but the more the book sits with you the more it makes sense for it to end the way it does. I recommend this one for your summer reading plans!

I've read several of Adele Park's books, and whilst I enjoyed it, it wasn't the best one I've read. I had sort of guessed 'who' but was still nicely surprised by the twist at the end. I would still recommend this book.

Another hit from Adele Parks. The synopsis is simple, two happily married women from very different lives go missing. They can't possibly be connected can they? A young DI thinks so and the game is on. Where are these women? what are their secrets. Very cleverly written , the twist comes in the middle rather than at the end as I had most of it figured out by then.
Great read, 5 stars.

I was kept guessing till right near the end.

When DC Clements is called to investigate two missing women, she doesn’t see any connection between the two families. But when she sees photos, things take a different turn - Kai Janssen and Leigh Fletcher are the same person. Did one of her husbands discover the truth and take matters into their own hands, or is there another suspect?

I really enjoyed Both of You, until the last chapter. The build up was great, with the two lives so separate to start with, until the crossover is revealed. The relationship Kai/Leigh has with her two husbands, and the different lifestyles she lives, are well written and the story flows along. Until we reach the end, when I felt cheated, almost as if I’m missing the last few pages. For me, there were too many unanswered questions.

I was gripped by this book right from the first page. The drama started early and the suspense built as I tried to work out ‘whodunnit’. I liked the fact the narrative switched between characters, so I felt I understood each one’s perspective on the same relationships. No spoilers here, so suffice to say I thoroughly enjoyed it!

WOW! This is such a clever story of the inner workings of relationships and behaviour, told through Kai and Leigh and their different marriages and family lives. Kai and Leigh both disappear leaving behind their husbands and their ‘normal’ life, and from then on the web starts unravelling.

The story starts by giving us a lot of background as to how Leigh and Mark met, it really set the scene and they seemed to have a very happy family life. We were then introduced to Kai and Daan, who also seemed to have a very happy marriage and again we got to know a lot about them too and their history; how they met and and the early stages of their relationship. It’s quite a slow burn and I couldn’t work out where things were going until they both disappeared, then there was a turn, and from that point the story just got better and better. At two points I literally gasped out loud at the clever twists!

This is a completely gripping, twisted and dark rollercoaster of a book! I should have known what to expect from this author having read several of her other books, but, it still took me by surprise and I was completely shocked! I absolutely loved the end and had to finish the book walking along the street reading my kindle because I had to know what happened. This is one of those books you won’t want to put down – a very enjoyable read!

I have read most of Adele Parks book.

This was easy to read and well written.

Leigh Fletcher and Kai Janssen are reported missing a few days apart....can they be linked?

Enjoyable

A compelling story with some twists and halfway through the book, I had two definite suspects in mind and I was right about one, it did drag out a bit but the ending was good and it’s true , revenge is better served cold and in your own time. I got this from Netgalley and would like to thank the publishers and Netgalley for letting me have the ARC to review and the opinions expressed are entirely my own views and are completely unbiased.

Another great book by Adele Parks. I was completely enthralled and intrigued and could not put it down. There were lots of twists and turns and I am still not sure if I liked any of the characters much, apart from DC Clements. The ending was a little abrupt and I was left feeling that justice had not been done. Nevertheless, I would thoroughly recommend this book.
Thank you Adele Parks, Netgalley and General Fiction for allowing me to read this book and give my unbiased opinion.

This is great! Really had me hooked. I read it all in pretty much one sitting. Such a clever premise and really exciting the whole way through.

I have read a few of Adele Parks' books and I love her style. This is a psychological thriller but with a different structure to those where the detective is personally involved in the mystery. Every character is well rounded, more so the women but it makes sense in the scheme of the book. The writing is fluid and always interesting as usual. I loved the feminist observations and the contrast between Leigh's and Kai's life. The ending did surprise me, I was expecting another chapter before the end. Overall a great book that I highly recommend!

This was a great read, that had very good twists and turns in it. It has hard to say a lot about this book as I don't want to give away spoilers, but I will say it will 100% keep you entertained and grab your attention! I am looking forward to more from this writer.

What a read???

Leigh Fletcher and Kai Janssen are both reported missing within days of each other. Both women live very different lives, there’s no way their disappearance can be connected… or can it??

A fantastic read that you will not be able to put down, there so many plot twists in this very tense read and it kept me gripped right until the last page!!!

Bravo Ms Parks!

Very well written and what a clever concept, which can't be revealed without spoiling it, so you have to read it to find out. Good point of view from a woman's perspective too and a fun easy read. Could have done with another chapter or two and / or an epilogue. Can this be done online? The ending was quite abrupt and felt rushed. It was probably planned as a shock ending but more explanation would have been better for me.

The story starts with a woman waking up as an apparent hostage, chained and on the floor of a darkened room. She then hears a typewriter being used, and notes start being passed to her under the locked door.

Meanwhile, Mark reports his wife missing; Leigh is stepmum to his two boys, the elder of whom has started being unkind to her. They’ve been away for the weekend and return home to find that she is nowhere to be found.

A couple of days later, Kai is also reported missing by her husband. The two women seem to be polar opposites and live totally different lives with nothing in common except for going missing around the same time.

If you want to be hooked into a story that you just can’t put down, then this is the book for you!
