Leigh is a happily married step mum to two boys. She simply vanishes on a Monday morning - she goes to work but never comes home.
Kai is married to a wealthy businessman living a life of luxury when she simply disappears.
DC Clements thinks the two cases are linked but why. Is he correct or is it just a feeling? Why have these women just walked away from their lives or have they?

Wow! This was an explosive read, from the very first page I was hooked! Leigh is reported missing by her husband when she doesn't return from working away. DC Clements investigates and before long another woman, Kai, is reported missing. The two women live very different lives but have one remarkable thing in common.

The book is set in March 2020 with events occurring in the midst of the global pandemic, this in itself was interesting to look back on and added another dimension to the missing cases.

A great read. Thanks to netgalley and HQ for the advance read copy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I absolutely adore Adele Parks so I was over the moon to receive an arc of Both of you.
Two woman, Kai and Leigh, both have a seemingly perfect life, however they both go missing in the same week, with no clues to help. They seem to be unconnected, not known to one another, until the shocking truth comes out.
I was hooked and enticed by the characters from the first few chapters and enjoyed the twists and turns. I found the storyline to be very enticing and unique but sadly for me the longer the story went on the less interested I became and I began to find several characters very boring and wanting more from them.
I predicted who the suspect was although for a while I was kept on my toes trying to guess.
The ending for me was disappointing, I wanted to find out more and see what happened in the future, which did leave me wanting more.
All in all I was slightly disappointed and did find it to be very slow paced which I find unusual for Adele Parks, however, the storyline is good and different, therefore I would recommend it.

I was quickly drawn in to this story of Leigh and Kai, who go missing around the same time, leaving their husbands (and in Leigh’s case stepsons) distraught. It’s only through the tenacity of DC Clements, who follows her gut instincts that there is a connection between these disappearances, and sticks to her guns despite being told time and again by her boss to leave it, that they and we are able to get to the bottom of what’s going on.

There are plenty of twists and a couple of gasp out loud moments. I love a book that makes me gasp out loud!

I admit I was a bit disappointed with the ending. Not because it was a “bad” ending (although it did seem a bit rushed to me), but because I wanted to know the fall-out from what happened.

I've always enjoyed Adele Parks books and for that reason I carried on past the first chapter which, yet again, portrayed a woman being chained up in a dark room fearing for her life. Surely it's time we moved past violence against women as a hook to draw readers in?
Sadly, despite a couple of minor twists, it was fairly obvious who the perpetrator was well before the end and the imprisoned woman's (not wanting to give spoilers) motives were difficult to understand.
Thank you to netgalley and HQ for an advance copy of this book

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Original and absorbing. I was gripped from the outset. Quite dark in places but relevant to the story.
Despite guessing the perpetrator, I was still shocked by the twists and the ending.
Highly recommended.
Thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for providing me with this advance digital copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Stunning! Both of you is a triumph.

The story will drag you in from the first page and not let you go until the very end. Full of twists and turns, you will think you have worked it out and then doubt yourself, over and over.

The book starts with a woman who goes missing. Then another woman goes missing. The connection is more than you would expect! Who is taking these women? What do they hope to achieve? Will they make it out alive?

Brilliant characters, a thrilling fast paced read that will keep you guessing. A story of love, lust, loneliness, and tragedy.

I hate giving low scores, especially to authors that I love but this was just not my cup of tea. I struggled to like any of the characters, apart from the policewoman and she wasn't much cop in the end (sorry bad joke!)
I guessed at the ending by the time I was a third of the way in, and kept hoping to be proved wrong. Very disappointed.

Leigh Fletcher: happily married stepmum to two gorgeous boys goes missing on Monday. Her husband Mark says he knows nothing of her whereabouts. She simply went to work and just never came home. Their family is shattered.

Kai Janssen: married to wealthy Dutch businessman, Daan, vanishes the same week. Kai left their luxurious penthouse and glamourous world without a backward glance. She seemingly evaporated into thin air. Daan is distraught.

DC Clements knows that people disappear all the time – far too frequently. Most run away from things, some run towards, others are taken but find their way back. A sad few never return. These two women are from very different worlds, their disappearances are unlikely to be connected. And yet, at a gut level, the DC believes they are.

How could these women walk away from their families, husbands and homes willingly? Clements is determined to unearth the truth, no matter how shocking and devastating it may be.

Both of You consumed me, and I allowed it to swallow me whole. I wasn’t disappointed. It indulges all your nightmares, your fantasies, wraps them up and hand delivers it. Adele Parks is a master of investigating the human condition, in both real and ugly terms and still able to make the reader feel empathy but also pity. The trouble with being human is that we always want more, we want what we can’t have, ignoring the morality of it all.

I made a prediction at the start who I thought might be behind it all and I was so excited to be right. Although this may be seen as it being predictable, it is honestly not the case, the twists are SO good. I loved guessing that one small thing right and being a detective throughout to try and back up my claims.

Many thanks to NetGalley and HQ general Fiction for an advance copy in return for a fair and honest review

I enjoy thrillers by Adele Parks, so I was pleased to be approved to read this netgalley title. This book was good, full of twists and turns, although I guessed the final twist at the end before it was revealed. I liked the way the narrative alternated between a few different people. Was this my favourite thriller by Adele Parks? No. Being able to guess the ending was a let down for me. Also, I would have liked to have seen what happened to the characters beyond the point in the story where the author chose to end it. All in all, an okay read.

Two women, seemingly unconnected, both disappear in the same week. They have left behind what appears to be perfect lives. Their families are distraught. DC Clements is convinced that they are connected in some way. Get ready for a big reveal early on which changes the direction of the story. I love Adele Parks and this book was everything I expected and more.

3.5 stars. I have read other books by this authors and really enjoyed them. Unfortunately this one didn’t live up to my expectations. The storyline was unique and pulled me in from the start but I found it then got a bit boring. The main character started going on and on repetitively and I ended up skipping parts. The ending however was very good and unexpected.

This book was not as good as I thought it would be from the premise. I usually like this author. It was slow paced and did not grip me until over half way through when the pace picked up. Could not bond the the main character at all. Far fetched in parts. Not terrible but not great.. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Both Of You by Adele Parks is a marvellous contemporary psychological suspense that will have you looking this way and that as you try to guess the perpetrator.
Two women go missing, two husbands are distraught, two police officers lead the hunt – and what they discover will be the moment that everything changes for the reader – we have to try to guess the ‘who’ as we believe we know the ‘why’.
I suspected several characters – leaning first towards one and then another and then back again – as I tried to guess who had orchestrated the crime.
Adele Parks created a thrilling read told from several alternating points of view and time periods. There were clues and red herrings peppered throughout but which line to follow?
The characters were well drawn and realistic. I liked some more than others as Adele Parks toyed with my emotional responses.
I became completely immersed in Both Of You finding it totally mesmerizing. Surprisingly I managed to guess the ‘who’ but not predict what followed. Although as I suspected several characters maybe it’s not that surprising!
Adele Parks always writes fabulous psychological stories which I can never put down.
A word of caution: there were bedroom scenes with far too much detail for me, so I just skipped over them. It did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the story.
I received a free copy from Harper Collins via Net Galley. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.

Two women go missing - and in a shocking opening, we learn one of them, Leigh Fletcher, has been abducted, and is now chained to a radiator in an empty room, at the mercy of her unseen captor. Just as she is reported missing by her husband, Mark, the detectives involved are called to investigate another missing woman, Kai. Can their disappearances be connected?
It's hard to say much more about the ongoing plot without giving too much away, so I'll just say this is a thoroughly gripping story from the assured pen of Adele Parks, who knows how to plumb the depths of every human emotion, bringing tension and drama into the everyday ordinary.
In a twisty narrative that offers so many possibilities, themes of lust, love, betrayal, jealousy and revenge are fully explored. It's an emotional as well as an exciting read, offering insight into the lives and motivations of all the main characters, while keeping you guessing about the final outcome for each devastated family of their missing wife and mother - Mark and his sons Oli and Seb on one hand, Kai's husband, millionaire businessman Daan on the other.
With a narrative related from multiple viewpoints, readers have to take at face value the reaction of the various players to Leigh and Kai's disappearance, and my one small gripe is that I sometimes felt I was being deliberately misled by an unreliable narrator.
But that never spoilt my enjoyment of the story, nor made me doubt its final, shattering conclusion. I really enjoyed this book.

oh so twisty!
An excellent read featuring the mysterious disappearance of two women, reported by their husbands who raise the suspicions and hackles of Clements, the detective investigating the case. As the truths are revealed so are the motives but the suspects remain multiple and complex throughout leaving the reader guessing to the end reveal.
