This is a funny children's book with lots of great humour in it and clever plays on words - the skipping bell pepper was great!
I like the way that the story develops and is exciting. I read this with my children who all agreed that they'd love to get creative like the snouts did. I loved the twist at the end...
The illustrations are great, very pretty with little details.
The rhyme is good too.
A very enjoyable story to read with little children.
Adorable, hilarious and fun. This book will be a great addition to my classroom library in my first grade room. Pugtato never fails to entertain,
This book is a good laugh, fun and fast read. Cute vegetable names and storyline. Enjoyed the turn of events and the ending.
Weirdly adorable, I've read this several times since getting this ARC and I still haven't fully acclimated to it. But I am excited to show it to my little sister.
Adorable story! My four-year-old and I enjoyed reading this story together so much that her older siblings decided to join in. I loved the animal-vegetable puns and the artwork kept us enthralled to the end!
I did feel like the story was predictable, but it made us laugh and that counts for a lot in our book.
This story was so cute! All of the animals in this book are animal/ vegetable hybrids. There is a great flow to the words and they rhyme, which is always a huge bonus for me with story time books!
Thanks to NetGalley and Zondervan for access to this ARC! Another great addition to the "Pugtato" series is here! Imaginative illustrations and adorable storyline, my kids love to read and laugh along with the escapades in the garden.
This was absolutely precious. The artwork is fun and bright and the story is just darling! All the animals are a mix-up of vegetables and animals. I adored this!
Pugtato has this babysitting things down. How difficulty could it be? The snouts have him on his toes, though, with their wild explorations and insistence that they are not babies.
Sophie Corrigan’s Pugtato Babysits the Snouts is a fantastic picture book for toddlers through early elementary, with mashups of pets and vegetables and puns coming out of your ears of corn. The illustrations are adorable and will delight kids and grown ups alike. What could be punnier than a cute story with loads of vegetable puns?
Another cute book starring Pugtato. This time he babysits the Brussels Snouts. And it is a grand glorious adventure.
This is the first Pugtato book we have read and we really enjoyed it! The story and premise is really engaging and made us laugh lots! Their shenanigans through the garden with a great supporting cast was well told with some good rhymes to make the story flow. We enjoyed it!
Pugtato Babysits the Snouts is my favorite Pugtato book so far! I loved all the shenanigans that the snouts dragged Pugtato into. They were able to have a fun-filled day with their loving babysitter, Pugtato.
Pugtato is an adorable story of a pug-looking potato who is definitely more like a pug than a potato!
His brussel sprout/pig neighbours ask Pugtato to babysit their children while they visit the market, to which he happily obliges. He treats them like babies, much to their dismay, and they soon begin to show him that they are anything but innocent little infants.
The book takes you through their day, through fields, on their way to the greenhouse and it becomes evident pretty quickly that it is in fact Pugtato who requires babysitting. The Brussel snouts show him how to have fun, and that it is possible to enjoy activities without getting hurt.
Using rhyming prose to carry the story along, Sophie Corrigan cleverly adds a combination of animals to vegetables to create a multitude of characters who live in the nursery/greenhouse. The illustrations are detailed and simple at the same time, making them quite adorable, and thanks to Pugtato's sweet pug-like face, he too becomes a loveable potato, even if he's more like a baby than the babies he's looking after.
A wonderful story of a babysitting Pugtato and his three little Brussel snouts.
Told in engaging verse, this silly story elicited belly laughs from my child and my adult self. It is incredibly creative!
What a brilliant book!
I love this story with its clever use of rhyming language and brilliantly stimulating illustrations.
The story was ingenious in combining animals and vegetables, it was also very funny with the role reversal of pugtato and the snouts.
I loved this! I’ll definitely look out for the next title by this author.
Many thanks to the author and NetGalley for gifting me this arc in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
Oh, sweet Pugtato! He and his veggie animal friends are all as cute as can be. In this little adventure, Mama and Papa Snout are off to the market, leaving their three Brussels Snouts in the care of Pugtato. Pugtato is happy to babysit, how hard can it be? But the Snouts (who are absolutely NOT babies) might be more of a handful than he originally thought! Rambunctious they may be, the Brussels Snouts are some of the best spuddies Pugtato can ask for.
As always, the rhymes and illustrations are cute and engaging, perfect for a silly read-aloud. Thanks to NetGalley and Zonderkidz for the eARC.
This is my first Pugtato book and it will certainly not be my last. The characters are so much fun, every single one of them made my daughter giggle. The story was fun and engaging and the illustrations were wonderful.
The publisher made a copy of this book available via Netgalley for review. This is my honest opinion.
The title made me smile and the cover made me want to read this book. A funny story about Pugtato and his time whilst looking after 3 mischievous little snouts. The pictures are bright and the text easy to read, I think children will love this book. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
The Pugtato books are always a hit with the kids, and even as an adult I usually get a good chuckle or two. This book was no different. The illustrations are absolutely adorable. The story kept my kids engaged.
Deducting a star because some of the rhymes sounded kind of forced, and I found myself having to start over and read in a different rhythm, which makes for an awkward read aloud.
Still cute, tho!
A funny tale with fantastic illustrations. My little girl absolutely loved it and wanted to read it again and again.
