I truly enjoyed this book. It surprised me with the intensity of emotions, good amd otherwise. The descriptions that take the reader into places that could be the stuff of nightmares and also places of haunting beauty.
It is the story of Elena and Harry who travel to Mexico which, in Elena’s view at least, is a make or break journey for their relationship. As they, and their fellow travellers, tumble out of the tour coach in a small Mexican village, little do they all know that their lives will, within hours, be be literally turned upside down.
In the subsequent chaos, and the inevitable glare of the media spotlight, life takes a turn that Elena never really feels comfortable with. Especially after being trapped with the secretive Swede who is also on the tour.
Debbie Johnson has taken me on a journey with Elena, a journey of discovery of self and of others.
Ms Johnson is an articulate, talented writer with a superb eye for detail and the reity of life.
I thoroughly recommend this book.

I’ll be completely honest, I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book when I first started it but once I got past the opening I was hooked.
Elena and her boyfriend are on holiday in Mexico and she’s trying to decide what she wants out of life. Does she want to stay and get married and settle down or is there more out there for her? A huge event changes her life completely though and she has to make some really hard decisions.
It’s really hard to review this book without giving too much away. It’s one of those books where you want to discover the twist for yourself and follow the characters in the story. What I will say though is that this book is full of great characters, not just Elena and the story was amazing. It’s a bit of a rollercoaster of a plot and just when you think you know what’s going to happen, it all changes!
The Moment I Met You was such an emotional read but one that I enjoyed a lot.

What a fantastic read, I loved this book from beginning to end. I loved Elena & Alex’s journey, sharing the intimate moments as they learn about each other in such terrible circumstances.
I would recommend this book to all of my friends.
5 stars 🌟 from me

I really enjoyed this book, I’ve previously read and enjoyed other books by Debbie Johnson and this one is just as fabulous as previous books. I really liked Elena from the start, although there were times I felt frustrated with the decisions she made. Without adding any spoilers I’ll just say I got the ending I wanted.
I’d definitely recommend this book to my friends.

'The Moment I met you' was an emotional, surprising and uplifting story... and more serious than the books I usually read. I didn't expect the earthquake at all, that was a big shock, especially as I had no prior knowledge of the book before I started. I thought it was done so well - the aftermath in particular.
The first two quarters of the book was well paced. I was desperate to know what happened to each person in the catastrophe, and each reveal made me crave the next.
The last section of the book was perhaps just a little slow. I wasn't as driven to finish it as I was through most of the book. But I did really like the way the book wrapped up.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is an incredibly bittersweet story about Elena whose world spun off its axis nine years ago when she was in the wrong place at the wrong time at a time she was already questioning her future. Torn between her hopes and dreams and her longtime boyfriend Harry we discover what happened then, how it impacted in her and where she is now. A documentary series causes her to reflect on events and call into question the decisions she made. I felt such sympathy for Elena and the impossibility of her situation, her life is now an existence and this does make for an undercurrent of negativity in this but overall the story is heartfelt and beautiful.

This is a perfect heartwarming read which has provided a great escape. I love how this has been written and cannot wait to read more by this author.

Ten years before the book starts Elena and Harry are on holiday in Mexico when a life changing event takes place and it really does change their lives.
This is one of those books that shows how quickly life can change. It can be quite frustrating reading it as you know some of the decisions being made are the wrong ones, but I suspect if it were to happen to me I'd make the same choices.
It was a well written enjoyable book and made me want to go on holiday (without the earthquake obviously!)

When Elena and Harry, a couple who met at university, go on holiday to Mexico, Elena already feels the relationship has run its course.
The holiday ends in disaster and the next decade turns out different to how Elena had planned.
Finally facing the long, buried aftermath of that Mexican holiday leads to more revelations than either of them were prepared for. But could a return to the scene lead to the alternative ending that Elena had always longed for?
A very well written book, as we've come to expect from Debbie Johnson. A compelling story that you will not be able to put down.

Was a little slow to start but soon picked up! I ended up loving it in the end! Set in Mexico whilst an earthquake occurs, we get to explore the relationship of Elena and Harry... It’s a good twist in the end. I was actually satisfied with the ending for each of the characters as you get to see why they did what they did after the earthquake. A charming read which will stay with me a while!

Broke my heart. Im not kidding. I cried and cried. It was so deeply moving. A really touching read that has stayed with me for weeks.

How life can change in a heartbeat! It was slow to get going but oh so worth pursuing. A wonderful book that leads you down paths you won't see until you get there.
A must read!

Wow wow wow!!! This book was an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish and I loved every minute of it.
Nearly a decade ago Elena and Harry were on holiday in Mexico when their world was turned upside down in a split second and all Elena’s plans for the future ripped apart. Present day and interest in them has again been piqued bringing long-buried feelings and emotions back to the surface.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

After a life changing accident this will take you on A rollercoaster of emotions.
Absolutely brilliant book. I didn't want to put it down.
The first Debbie Johnson book I have read and will definitely be reading more.
Highly recommended this will keep page turning.

WOW! What an absolutely incredible story. This book will take you on such a rollercoaster of emotions that you won't know if you're coming or going. So brilliantly written, there are parts of the story that you feel as if you are actually there. Totally engrossing story, well worth reading.

Just beautiful. A book that will stay with you long after you’ve finished. I wish it didn’t end I wanted to know more.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. This is a nice easy feel good read, with great characters and a great storyline. I really liked it.

If you want a book that will make you laugh and cry in equal measures with great characters and an addictive storyline then this is your book. Loved it.

What an amazing read. I stayed up until the early hours of the morning and took an extended lunch break so I could finish this wonderful book. Elena tells her own story of a life changing experience in Mexico which happened almost ten years ago. As the anniversary approaches she is forced to re-live that night and see how it has changed her as a person, how it changed her life and how it affected the lives of all those present that night. A story of secrets, love, hope and so much more. Brilliant.

I definitely didn’t know what to expect from this book but wow!
I will be being vague because this is the type of book I think is better to go into without knowing what is going to happen because the shock-factor adds to the heartbreak and makes the book so much more. The book deals with PTSD, depression and so much more and I felt it dealt with it in a good way. I did enjoy the book with what happened and the important topics that shine through the whole book. I think the only thing is, I wish more happened, particularly the end which I felt was rushed.
But I definitely recommend this book to everyone and I did really like it.
