This is a really fun read that made me giggle all of the way through. A great early chapter book to engage young readers, and filled with wonderful illustrations.

Scooter Mclay has Cerebral Palsy but it does not stop him having brilliant ideas making up new recipes for the jam factory his parent own. However there is one thing he wants a pet but his parents will not let him. One day a strange alien Frizzbee flies through the window. The Fizzbee is also an inventor and wants to help with Scooters ideas.

Before they can start working together they must save the jam factory from Daffy Doggy the next door neighbour, who wants make the best jam to put in her doughnuts.

Will Scooter and Fizzbee be able to save the factory and will Fizzbee be allowed to stay with Scooter?

This book was funny and full of adventure perfect for children who are newly confident readers. I like the fact that Scooter had Cerebral Palsy but it did not stop him doing things.. I loved the relationship between Fizzbee and Scooter, but my favourite character was Daffy's pet guinea pig whose personality shone through.

A silly and entertaining adventure for emerging readers. I thought that the illustrations were absolutely fantastic. I also think the humour would really appeal to younger readers and they'd love to give this a go when just starting to read longer books on their own.

A great book and brilliant illustrations. My 9 year old really enjoyed this and she said it was full of great inventions and she loved the baddie. Creative story and kept the attention of my daughter.

This funny story kept me entertained from beginning to end.

Scooter McLay is a secret jam inventor extraordinaire, but life in his family's state of the art factory is lonely. Their jealous neighbour Daffy Dodgy is always trying to uncover Scooter's top secret recipes, so Scooter has to keep his entire life on lockdown - until a tiny, jam-loving alien called Fizzbee comes to visit!

An unforgettable hamster, an alien in a flying jam tart and a factory with its own rollercoaster are just some of the brilliant things to be found in this story. It's perfect for younger independent readers. I've already started rereading it with my six year old and she loves it too. I think this would be a big hit in classrooms. Scooter also has cerebral palsy, which isn't something I've seen represented in children's fiction very often.

I loved the artwork, which brought these characters to life in a funny and adorable way.

An Alien in the Jam Factory is an unmissable story about friendships, secrets, and finding someone you can be yourself with (as well as aliens and jam!)

Scooter is a child inventor who has many wonderful ideas. With the help of his parents they run a successful jam factory. An alien, Fizzbee, becomes his friend and helps him to out-wit a local business rival. My 7 year old loved reading this story and asked for it to be read to him at every possible opportunity. The graphics are wonderful and we found them interesting as well.

Thank you for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
