I enjoyed the descriptions of all the different exotic animals and had to look some of them up to check they were real!
I love middle grade books but this felt like it was talking to very young children, a bit simplified. I did enjoy the later part of the book, once it really got going, though it was a little predictable.

This book was full of adventure.
Kintana longs for adventure. when the Nine Sails makes port on Pirate Island she signs on as a cabin boy and gets drawn into a treasure hunt!
As the pirates search for the treasure strange things start happening is it the captain's curse or someone trying to stop them finding the treasure?
I really enjoyed this book Kintana was a great character that learns that you do not have to go far to find an adventure.
