I adore a good holiday book, and that's what this is. It definitely skews really young, so there is no real emotional angst or mature themes. But it's cute!
Unfortunately, I DFN'd this book. I found the characters really unlikable and that's just something I'm unable to get passed.
Finally found my way to this book. What a cute holiday story about dealing with your crush, friendship and a more serious topic- grief. The adorable title drew me in but the sweetness of the story kept me entertained.
Noelle loves Christmas but her dad isnt really in the mood after they lost her mother. Since things aren’t working out for the holidays she jumps at the chance to work babysitting for her best clients over the holiday. She just didn’t expect Wyatt the kids stepbrother she’s in charge of showing up - especially since she has a major crush on him. Cuteness ensues. Story Skews younger - lower ya.
This book is super well-written YA Contemporary read is the perfect book to get readers in the holiday spirit. Full of Christmas cheer, first crushes, adorable babysitting charges, and the sweetest besties. Definitely recommended!
This book is a super cute YA romance made better by being at Christmas. It has such cute moments between Wyatt and Noelle as well as with family and friends. The story flows nicely and is very easy to read!
This was a sweet ode to Christmas traditions everywhere. That, coupled with misunderstandings and young dreams made for a nice holiday novel.
Let me start with a couple things I liked about this book. I liked how much Noelle loved Christmas. I love going all out during the holiday season so it was nice to read about someone else who loved the holiday just as much as me. We got plenty of Christmas-y moments and some sweet rom-com Hallmark-esque Christmas-y moments too. I loved that about this book!
This is more of a lower YA novel which was a nice change up for me. So much of YA now is upper YA with upper YA themes and language or new adult classified as YA. I liked that we got a younger set of characters and, with that, a younger set of thoughts and actions.
I didn't fall in love with any of the characters. I wish they had been more thought out or had more of a character arc. There was some development there and we saw some exploration of Noelle's grief over her mother which gave her some depth, but I was really hoping for more.
Overall, this book was sweet and lovely for those who love Christmas like me, but I won't be reading it again.
Christmas season is almost here! I’m divided between Winter and Fall for my favorite season and there’s just something about Christmas that I really love so I’m so happy that Christmas themed-books are trickling in slowly.
In this book, we follow the story of a ballet dancer Noelle whose mother was all about Christmas and despite her having passed away, her loved ones usually continued the traditions her mother loved to follow. However, this year everything is a mess. With her home life, her friends and even with the one thing she loves more than anything: Ballet. So when one of her babysitting clients are going for a ski trip and request her to come with them, she jumps at the chance to get away. Plus it doesn’t hurt that they’re going to pay double her rate, and the money is something she needs. She was in control and had plans to follow to a T, but they all get sidetracked when the kids’ older brother, Wyatt, shows up too. Oh, and in case you didn’t already figure it out, he’s her crush.
I liked the plot of the story and how well it seemed to flow. This was a sweet romance through and through. There was so much of humor, wonderful characters its impossible to not love, and lots and lots of heart in the story. The author really knows how to write a story for sure, she crafted it wonderfully and I found it incredibly relatable.
This book is making me wish Christmas was already here. I absolutely got full on Christmas vibes from this book, and not just because they were on a ski trip, there was just a…vibe to it that was impossible to ignore. All the holiday activities, hot chocolate, tree decorating, baking, and more all combined to give me a full Christmas-y feeling.
The characters were really cute and so was the dynamic between them. I loved the sweet romance but I’m not going to sugarcoat it, I loved the friendships more. Noelle had a wonderful group of friends that supported her and truly cared for her and what these girls had is something I think a lot of people look for in friendships and never find. So I loved that dynamic between them.
All in all, if you like cute YA romcom titles or books with christmas-y feels to them, you should pick this book up!
Super cute ya rom-com set during Christmas time. I enjoyed Ms. Schmidt's "Bookish series" so I figured I'd give this one a chance too. Glad I did. I loved the dynamics between Noelle and Wyatt- I'm a sucker for troupes of hate-love relationships. Great character development as well as a lovely story.
Cute cover and a sweet story. Teens looking for a holiday rom com full of skiing and sweaters and cute boys will be happy with this one.
This was a cute and quick holiday book. It wasn’t anything spectacular but it was still a nice holiday romance.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my copy of I'm Dreaming of a Wyatt Christmas by Tiffany Schmidt. All opinions are my own.
I read this over the Christmas season and while it was pretty cheesy (which, don't get me wrong, I love) it was also a feel-good read during my favorite time of year.
As much as I tried, I just could not get invested in this book! I struggled keeping the different characters straight, and ultimately just didn't' relate with the characters like I wanted to. I am sure that someone else would love this book, but it just wasn't for me.
A fun read, a book that kept me wanting to read more
Great characters with a great storyline too
Will look for more books from this author
I absolutely adored I'm Dreaming of a Wyatt Christmas! I wasn't sure I'd like it, because it really started off slowly, but once it got into it . . . I couldn't stop reading, and was excited to get back into it.
I was also pleasantly surprised this was a young adult book, too. I read descriptions and then forget the description by the time I start reading — especially with ebooks. So I was caught off guard when I realized this was YA.
Noelle's father is "neglectful" due to being too busy with work related things, so she finds herself on vacation with her babysitting family. Then she's surprised by her crush of all crushes Wyatt — the family's (step) son — comes on vacation also.
We have a lot of enemies/hate to love. Noelle and Wyatt do not get off to a good start. Wyatt is "damaged" and can't let anyone in, but Noelle doesn't back down. I loved watching Wyatt loosen up and come around. He had some internal struggles with his family, too.
The budding relationship between Wyatt and Noelle was adorable, too. I wanted to scream at such obviousness but also aww'd way too many times, too.
The only thing that really went over my head was a lot of the ballet talk. I don't know anything about ballet so the discussions that Noelle and Wyatt have together was a big ugh to me. Which wasn't a dealbreaker but there's a lot of it, so I skimmed in some chapters.
Overall, this was such a cute Christmas read!

3.5 / 5 stars
Noelle is dreaming of a wonderful Christmas filled with yuletide cheer with friends and family. However not all goes as planned as she feels separation from her father as everything else seems to go awry. Noelle soon decides to leave it all when she takes a babysitting position with a family for a holiday getaway. When an unplanned visitor arrives things go even further in an unexpected direction.
I really enjoy reading from this author. This book felt so warm and full of holiday cheer. I really enjoyed the characters and the changes they went through. I appreciate how some deeper topics were explored and discussed. I wish the communication overall was a bit better but it was still a very entertaining read.
Thank you for the review copy Net Galley!
I love the Christmas Season so this book was one of my top requests on NetGalley. This book follows Noelle, a ballet dancer who loves Christmas but here friends and family don’t always share her enthusiasm. When her favorite family asks her to come with them on their winter vacation to help babysit the kids she jumps at the chance to go with them.
When the kids’ older half-brother, Wyatt surprises them all at the apartment and Noelle messes up their surprise they start off on the wrong foot. She works to get him to like her and to talk about dance and then one thing leads to another and she finds her crush on him growing bigger and bigger.
I loved this book so much! There are so many different fun winter and Christmas details in it. Noelle was a fun and well-written character and she had her hopes and goals but she still loved to have fun. She did have her flaws but she was a relatable character, especially for a dancer. I loved all the little dance references and wintery and Christmas vibes.
I loved the storyline between Noelle and her father it was so well written and it was an interesting look at family dynamics. I also loved her relationship with the family she babysits and between her friends.
I highly recommend this book for lovers of Christmas, Ballet, and cute fuzzy rom coms!
This book was very cute. I loved reading from a younger YA protagonists' POV. It covered heavy topics like grief and abandonment in a thoughtful and honest way.
Fourteen-year-old Noelle is a ballet dancer, a babysitter, and obsessed with Christmas. When her favourite babysitting clients, the Kahales, ask her to go away with them to Vermont for Christmas, she agrees. It’s the perfect excuse to avoid her father, who has been busy with work and ignoring Noelle lately. Noelle gets a huge surprise when the older half-brother of the kids who she babysits arrives. She’s never met Wyatt, but she’s had a crush on him since she saw his photos and videos of him dancing. Their relationship is off to a rocky start, when Wyatt’s younger siblings like Noelle more than him, but they soon realize they can bond over their similar family issues. Noelle and Wyatt have more in common than they thought, and they may be just what the other needs.
This is a perfect holiday romance! It was hard to remember that Noelle was only fourteen-years-old in this story. There wasn’t anything adult themed in the book, but it was so relatable and fun. Noelle and Wyatt had a slow build romance, but that made it more rewarding when they finally figured out their feelings for each other.
Though the main characters were young teenagers, Noelle still had to deal with some mature issues. She was still recovering from the death of her mother six years earlier, which was always a difficult memory at the holidays. She wanted to attend a dance boarding school, but didn’t know how to speak to her father since they had a fight and weren’t speaking. Noelle was also experiencing her first love, and the complications that came with liking the son of her employer. Though these were some potentially difficult topics, they were handled really well and the story still had a light tone.
I’m Dreaming of a Wyatt Christmas is a fun young adult holiday romance!
Thank you Amulet Books for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a really cute story for teens. I think it’s one that would appeal to a wide range of YA readers. The relationship was really cute and I liked the festive Nutcracker, ski resort vibe for the holiday. Cute and one I would recommend.
I thought this one was so cute! Loved the dance theme. Such a good middle grade book. I thought the plot was creative and the story line was at a good pace. Overall, great book!
