This lovely board book encourages the youngest of children to show gratitude for the gifts of the farm. From saying thank you to the cows for their milk to the ground for its yummy carrots. Using simple repetitive phrasing, children will gain a faster understanding of being thankful and will become familiar with the animals and produce on the pages, associating pictures to the correct names.

It has wonderful, simple illustrations which are generously sized and don’t over power the page, making it easy to spot the cow, or bee. Young children will easily be able to point to the different animals on the pages and interacting with the book and supporting their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Overall I think this book would be a lovely addition to babies and toddlers. It encourages gratitude and exploration and I think it will pique the interest and curiosity of young minds. I could see this book being used in my settings baby room and very much enjoyed by the children:

Appreciating Farms and Farmers

This simple board book gives parents or caretakers a chance to show younger children the bounty we get from farms, from fresh milk to carrots to wheat. Each of the foodstuffs mentioned is brought up with gratitude, as in “Thank you, BEES, for sweet honey.” The book ends showing all the bounty mentioned laid out on an outside farm table with a thank-you shout-out to farms and farmers. The illustrations are simple with a rustic country look about them; most colors are soft. The only illustration that is off, and young children who have board books read to them would not notice, is the one for grapes. The grapevine is so tall that a child has to reach up to eat the grapes. Having lived in and near wine country for decades, I know that is not the case. But I like the appreciation for farms and nature’s bounty fostered by this book.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book via netgalley.
The book didn't download very well and so the pages were slightly muddled.
Nevertheless this is a very sweet book, so colourful and beautifully illustrated. It supports young children in making connections between some of what we receive, where it comes from and simply saying thank you.
It would make a great addition to any young child's library.

A great book to teach little kids how to be thankful of their farm friends. For sun and rain, for the animals that provided them food. For the soil and for the wheat. So very interesting.

This was the cutest children’s book! We ranch and raise beef so all 3 of my kids get very excited to see “their lives” in a book that the rest of the world gets to see! The pictures were adorable- I’d hang them on the wall in their bedrooms! The idea behind the book so amazing. Love, love, LOVE!

This is a lovely book to share with very young children to help them to understand where different products come from on the farm (thank you chickens for fresh eggs, thank you sheep for warm wool.) The pictures are very attractive and my two year old really loved pointing to the different animals, food and plants and naming them. This would be a very useful book to use in a nursery/preschool setting to introduce life on a farm. It would also make a lovely gift for a 1-2 year old. Thank you to NetGalley and Storey Publishing for this ARC.

My daughter and I loved reading this book! There was a good array of animals and plants, and even a page thanking the sun. I liked the connection between the animal and the food product we get from it. For example- the cow and the milk. I also liked that bees and wheat were included. I feel like you don’t see these things in other farm books. The thanking of farmers at the end of the book was a nice touch too!

This is a darling and precious little book to read to toddlers and young preschoolers. With enchanting illustrations children are lead with very simple and understandable language through some of the animals and crops found on a farm. The book expresses thankfulness as each animal and crop is thanked for the need it fulfills. Toddlers can learn about the various animals and crops on a farm and what they give us as they are exposed to the pictures, rhythmic phrasing and vocabulary of this story. For example, "Thank you, cows for creamy milk' teaches a child to be kind and compassionate to animals.as well as to begin to have an understanding of what foods and commodities they provide for us. Children can also learn to appreciate farmers and the work they do to care for animals and grow cropsThe little picnic illustration is my favorite. What an inviting place for a child to dream of or imagine. .I would definitely use this book in a preschool classroom to introduce new vocabulary and ideas and simple vocabualry regarding life on a farm.
