This is the first book in the series, and my first by this author. Despite not reading the first two books, I didn't feel like I was lacking backstory (I did make sure it could be read as a standalone before starting).
The story line was solid, fairly typical mafia romance, if a bit on the soft side. This storyline has zero bullying, and although there are a few "dark topics" (such as murder) I would consider the book a fairly light read. The characters worked well, and neither main character came off as overly annoying or a dread as point of views switched which was nice.
The ending however felt very rushed, and the interactions after the action didn't match up. Who has sex hours after being shot?!?!?
Overall it was a decent read, and I may look into more of the series.
Wow. Strong male lead character and I loved how the female character was the mafia princess. Will they be able to achieve their goals before the attraction takes hold? I truly enjoyed this one.
I like a good romance where boy and girl meet and hate each other but end up together. A bit of mafia drama, this was made for an entertaining read. Easy to read
I received a complimentary copy of Collided in exchange for an honest review. Finally, a book that had a fast paced plot that I couldn't put down. There was just enough background to create a good foundation, and the author got right into the nitty gritty. The character development between Chiara and Luca was relatable, and as a reader I had to wonder how those two would ever bridge their gap. There were a few surprise twists in the plot which added to the depth of this story. Overall, well done. I look forward to reading more from Anna Ray.

Collided is an arranged marriage mafia romance by Anna Ray, the romance for me i found it okay not to spicy enough!
Overall great storyline!
I would like to say that this is the first time I am a reading a product of Anna Ray. Also, this is the third book in the Mafia series. From my research, the books is not interconnected and can be read as a stand alone.
The couple in this book is Chiara Fiore and Luca Mendacius. Chiara is the only daughter out of five siblings in rivalry to become the heir to the Fiore family. Luca is a tech mogul that’s after Chiara’s hand in marriage. Their love story is based around the concept of an arranged marriage, but not really. It is more optional and not forced. It’s not really an enemy to lover troupe either because do they really hate each other or is it just miscommunication that occur during the plot. The couple’s love story is quite sweet. However, I felt the way the heroine was supposed to be perceived was not how she was written. Chiara is considered smart and not an easy bimbo, but her character was easily swayed with all of Luca’s attempts.
The plot line of the story resembled almost like 365 days. Not the actual plot line of 365 days, but the writing style. The story had a lot of courtship between the couple and very little plot in actuality. The last 5 chapters of the book was basically the storyline. The writing style of the author fits more of a young adult/teenage read than an adult romance fiction. The book was written in dual point of view with the character’s name as the chapter title to let the readers know.
The “romance” scene was not very steamy. I will never judge on the amount of romance scenes in a book, but more the quality of the scenes themselves. There are about 3 sexual scenes per se in the book. However, the scenes are very brief. This is more of quick love session more than page turners, shy to read around the public. The scenes were all “vanilla” and the most intense thing was when Chiara said please.
The ending of the book was well written and ties everything together. Everything was explained thoroughly.
I never read a mafia love story before but I liked it. What attracted me to the book was it has everything I love in a good story: enemy to lover, spice, and mafia.
There were a couple of things I enjoyed like Fiore’s family dynamic even though it was toxic as hell. I also enjoyed reading from the point of view of Luca and Chiara. Collided was easy to read and fast pace which only took me two days to finish.
Now there were parts I thought could have been better. For example, Luca and Chiara went on a couple of dates that were off the page. Then the next thing I know Chiara is falling in love with Luca when she supposes to be using or hating him. Because some dates happened off the page, them falling in love seemed super rushed. Especial since Chiara is supposed to be a “take no bullshit” type of girl.
I also expected more mafia savagery but only got a glimpse.
Thank you BoookGoSocial and NetGalley for a free copy of this book in exchange of honest review
Not really for me at all the writing felt so cliche and unbelievable , no one speaks in the way in real life and I just couldn’t get beyond it. The characters felt under developed, just not my cup of tea at all
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Thank you for the eARC!
Great story and characters!
Would definitely be looking forwards to more of this authors works.
Rating: 3.5
I started this book and was excited for a dark romance but it unfortunately fell short for me.
The writing was good and the story was fast paced but it wasn’t ‘dark’ enough for me.
*This was kindly sent to me in exchange for an honest review*
This was so similar to the one before this in the series, if you asked me to pick them apart I don't know if I could.
The writing was so cliche and so downright unbelievable in places that I had to put the book down. No one speaks in the way this was written, especially not some of the lines Luca said. It made everything feel forced and fake and took out so much enjoyment from the story.
I liked the idea of the romance but felt they lacked a connection out with lust. I wish they focused on it more, rather than it being an immediate attraction that didn't seem to develop from common ground or conversation. Also, the sex was very unrealistic and rushed. It felt like it was shoved in for no reason and didn't add anything.
But I did like the premise (other than it being a bit too similar to the last in the series)
So overall, not a great read in my opinion but definitely not the worst thing I have read.
* I did receive this e-book through Netgalley for an honest review
Collided lands around 2.5 stars for me (rounded up to 3). This is the third book in the series but can be read as a stand-alone.
The bare bones of the story are there and I wish there had just been a little bit more attention to detail. The pacing varied from chapter to chapter, but the dual perspective helped move things along. The book centres around revenge and spends a lot of time reminded us that everything is about revenge.
At the end of the day, if you are a fan of Mafia romances, you will most likely enjoy Collided.
Revenge and love have some thing in common - they are both blind and not always as simple as they seem.
Chiara Fiora, the daughter of Vito Fiora, the head of the family business, really wants to be the main heir to this position. But in most cases, things don't go the way we want them to. Her family has a lot of debts and practically no money left. Therefore, when Luca Mendacius offers Chiara's father a large sum and help in paying debts, for the marriage proposal to his daughter, he is forced to agree and ask his daughter about it.
Chiara is not going to give in to Luca so easily, but he is not without cards up his sleeve: he has his own plans for the Fiora family
This was my first acquaintance with the author and, in general, with novels of a similar genre. I was very curious to read stories about the Italian mafia, seasoned with hatred, passion, lust, love and devotion. And I got all this in this book.
Bad Rich Boy with his secrets and goals - check

Tragedy of the past - check
Betrayal and dirty tricks, where you don't expect - check
To be honest, I did not expect at all that I would like this story so much. It has a great amount of those things that I sometimes just crave to see in books. I just had a great time with the book "Collided", I worried about their relationship and how they would all get out of this situation.
In general, I can say that I liked the book, and in the future I would like to get acquainted with other works of Anna Ray.
Huge thanks to NetGalley for providing me with this copy!
Great strong heroine and hero great story and dialogue. the story was great I will read more from this author.
Despite being the only daughter out of five siblings, Chiara hopes that she has shown her worth to her mafia don father. Which she has but not in the way she thinks - he has lost the family's money and has sold her hand in marriage to Luca. Clearly not impressed with the arrangement she agrees to meet with him and is surprised when she finds herself attracted to him.
Luca has waited many years to get revenge on Chiara's family. With him believing that her father killed his parents in a car accident. The arranged marriage will be an act of lasting revenge but one that Luca wasn't prepared to feel things for Chiara.
Whilst their relationship appears to be going better than either anticipated they have some family obstacles to overcome. A fast-paced mafia read that finds an arrangement becoming so much more.
ARC recieved from NetGalley
THis is the first book I've read by Anna Ray. Chiara and Luca have been thrown into an arranged marriage. Chiara is hoping that she can help out her family and her idiotic brothres. However, Luca is not who he says he is. The chemistry is hot! I've read this trope of marriage of convienve so many times so I could kind of see where the story was going.
I love mafia romances so much. They make a amazing love story. The fmc gets to fall in love with with all the dark parts of the mc. This book was another jem in the mafia book list.
This was a fast paced read describing the need for revenge between two Mafia families but all is not as it initially seems. An arranged marriage is organized to try and resolve problems for one of the families but there are underlying motives that soon come to light. The tension between Chiara and Luca is palpable throughout the story and it leads to a clear need for a follow up book which I look forward to reading!
Chiara was being sold by her Father to Luca as Luca agreed to pay off all of his debts. Her Father had once been the strongest Mafia Boss in town but he had let his gambling addiction get in the way and was now about to lose everything. Chiara was his last hope. Chiara was not like most of the Mafia woman. She was very intelligent and wanted to rise to the head of her Family even though that was never allowed as Men ruled the Families. Her brothers were weak people so she w as actually much more qualified than they were. She was pleasantly surprised when she met Luca as he was a very handsome young man. Luca had been living in Sicily for a number of years but was moving back to America. There are many underlying secrets and plans for revenge in this novel. Chiara and Luca had an instant attraction and she decided she would marry him however both of them had hidden agendas. As usual in a Mafia novel, there is some violence that takes place. I recommend this book.

I didn’t know what to expect going into this book, as I had read the previous two books in this series and although I enjoyed them, I definitely thought the first book was better than the second book. This book was a good mafia romance: there was a good amount of conflict and plot considering the book was so short and the second half of the book definitely kept me interested. However, I definitely think the romance in this book could have been better. Chiara and Luca’s chemistry just wasn’t really there for me and I think this was due to the fact that there were just not enough scenes between the two of them because the book was so short. Overall, I would say this was a good read but it really needed to be longer in order for the character relationships to be better developed.
