Quin's next adventure involves another meteor event. This leaves more people enhanced. The descendent of a slave and plantation owner wants to build a casino on lands sacred to African Americans and will let nothing stand in his way. Another new enhanced person, Brittany's aunt Adelaide, uses her powers to show Quin the past and what they must do to preserve the land. Brittany also discovers that Quin is enhanced and that he saved her life previously. This book discusses the importance of preserving the past - people, religion, culture, and land.
Quincredible volume 2 builds on the vibrant world and energy of the first book, complete with an action-packed story. I would love to have these books on my classroom library shelf.
I love New Orlean history and superheroes, so this graphic novel series checks all the boxes for me!
I loved the combination of history with magical and sci-fi elements because when done right (like this was), it becomes so real and easier to invest in.
Quin is an adorable character, and I love his parents because they actually touch on what it is to raise a newly formed hero and the doubts and thoughts that come with that.
Please read this Graphic novel series because the rich history adds such amazing origin to this world, and its a bit of real-world culture & history.
p.s I didn't see this was vol 2, and I hadn't read the first, but even then, I could understand everything and see was given brief flashbacks.
