Wow. A very engaging story, I couldnt put this down, and my heart was in my mouth for most of it! recommended!

This was an enjoyable thriller, which I read very quickly. I struggled in the sense that I felt on edge throughout the story and constantly felt like something bad was going to happen, which obviously means the author did her job well.
In some ways, I guessed the ending but not fully, which I liked. I read lots of thrillers and most of them are predictable or follow the same tropes. Although I guessed part of the ending. It expanded into more than I had imagined and then continued to explain things further which I enjoyed.
I would recommend this book and could imagine it as a tv drama.

This book presents a gripping narrative centred around a mother’s desperate flight to protect her newborn daughter. Grace’s journey begins with her fleeing from her life in New York, seeking refuge in a remote Welsh cottage to escape the looming threat of her partner, Patrick. The tension is palpable as Grace tries to build a new life while grappling with the nagging feeling that she is not alone.
The initial build-up of suspense is commendable, drawing readers into Grace’s plight as she receives a chilling note warning her to keep her baby close. It’s a classic thriller setup, and for much of the story, it seems poised to deliver a heart-pounding experience.
However, I found the eventual revelation of the villain to be quite underwhelming. What could have been a thrilling twist fell flat, leaving me wanting more depth and complexity in the antagonist’s character. The build-up led me to anticipate something far more sinister, making the ultimate reveal feel rather “blah” in comparison.
Overall, while And Then She Ran successfully creates a tense atmosphere and intriguing premise, the lack of a compelling villain detracted from my enjoyment. It had the potential to be a four-star read but ultimately left me wanting.

Thank you to NetGalley and publishers for this arc.
Great read and a real page turner!
A “What would you do?” thriller, with a healthy dose of twists and turns.
Likeable characters and lots tension.

There are some parts to this that felt very slow. I liked the characters but I felt like they were a little underdeveloped and lacking depth.
I did guess the final twist but I still enjoyed the book

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

A fast paced, tense and gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Some really good twists. Looking forward to reading more from the author.

This was a fast paced, exciting thriller. Everything I would want in a thriller. A great story. I look forward to reading more.

A sound psychological mystery/thriller that kept me interested and guessing to the end. I would read more from this author.

This book was everything I look for in a book. It was so exciting. The plot was fantastic. It really had me on the edge of my seat, and my heart racing. It was very well written and flowed well.

This was a high tension thriller with a baby at the centre. Some really good characters and a compelling storyline. There were a lot of twist and turns and misconceptions, making this a story where you couldn't wait to see what happens in the end.

I loved this book! Great characters you really get to know!
Great twists and turns throughout with a brilliant ending.
Highly recommend this one, thank you!

Grace descends on her aunt in remote Wales having fled a situation in New York, an 8 week old in tow. Grace can't shake the feeling g she is being watched and this is amplified when strange occurrences begin. An interesting read that gets better as it progresses. Thanks to netgalley for the advance read copy.

Another fabulous book by Karen Clarke! A twisty-turny suspenseful book that again is hard to put down. I loved the aunt character and absolutely adored the setting in Wales, it really felt like a cosy little village that I would love to visit. You could really feel the love that grace had for her daughter, the book makes you feel for Grace and Lily, fearing for their safety. Again I didn’t guess the ending - just superb!

Then she ran - Karen Clarke
I’m sorry I didn’t get to read this title and so it expired therefore I cannot give an accurate review. Sorry, but I do plan on coming back to it in the future.

And Then She Ran by Karen Clarke was a great book. I was hooked from the first few pages with a fab plot and twists I did not guess. Have a read, you won’t be disappointed. Great descriptions of Wales too.
