Yet another incredible read by Claire McGowan. Her novels are masterful, cleverly written and thoroughly engaging and I can’t wait to read more.

Claire is such a magical storyteller. She has such an amazing way of hooking you from the beginning and telling a compelling story. This one was a great thriller and I really enjoyed the storyline.

Rachel stumbles upon a dead body in the woods near her home -- unfortunately, this isn't her first encounter with a dead body and last time she wound up accused of murder. Needless to say, Rachel runs away before being found at the scene. However, once the victim is identified as her boyfriend's estranged wife, Rachel is suspect #1. With evidence mounting against her, Rachel attempts her own investigation into finding the murderer. As she uncovers clues, she wonders if her discovering the body was a coincidence or if she's being framed for murder.

Told from the alternating perspectives and timelines, I Know You kept me up ALL night. The plot was clever, and Rachel's backstory was developed perfectly. It was one of my favorite books to end 2021!

I just couldn't get into this book and I just think it wasn't a good time for me to read it. After three attempts I am just going to put it down and watch for her next book.

This book has a very complicated plot with a lot of characters who are very complex themselves. With the murder of his two friends when he was a boy, Cody has decided to do a true crime podcast, in hopes of discovering the identity of the killer. He does not believe that the man arrested for the crimes is the one who committed them, especially when another body is found near the site of the deaths of his friends. The main characters are a detective named Fletcher, a scuzzy guy who is like a godfather crime lord type named Felix and the mother of one of the dead boys, names Jess. There are multiple mysteries involved, including where Jess was the night Charlie was killed and why Cody wasn’t with his friends when they died. The plot was complicated enough that sometimes I had to put the book aside to think about it for a while or to do something else that was not so intense. I enjoyed the plot, but the twists were not always a welcome surprise. I didn’t feel that there was sufficient foreshadowing about the big surprise at the end and that the end was very abrupt. I enjoyed getting to know more about the characters and their mysterious lives, especially Jess. And, of course, there were the characters who were easy to dislike and distrust, like Felix. All in all, it was a good mystery with multiple red herrings. It is an entertaining and enjoyable read, but deeply disturbing at some of the choices of the characters.

Well written, I read this one in under 24 hours. I really liked it. Told in dual timelines, the main character has found not one dead body but two. Is it horrible luck or is someone out to ‘get’ her. Read on and find out, you won’t be sorry.

What would you do if you came across a body in the woods on your daily morning dog walk, would you report it to the police or would you run from the scene and say nothing? Rachel choses the later because it’s not the first time that she has come across a dead body but in running has she made herself look even more guilty? An enjoyable read that flashes back and forth in time slowly unfolding what really happened in the past and who could be to blame for the current murder.

There’s really not much to day about this one, but wow, wow, wow! Gripping from page one until the final page is turned! Written fantastically in a way that really grabs the reader! Character development is definitely superb, making you connect with the story that much more! Delicious, fun, and thrilling! Highly, highly recommend!

The main character, Rachel, has a past which emerges through the chapters going back and forth from the present to then. It's an interesting take on the idea of a nanny who is accused of murder. Personally I found it a bit boggy in the middle and was getting impatient waiting for the truth to out. When it did, it was a bit surprising but not quite as clever as I had expected. All of which sounds a rather damning review because actually it was good, it did keep me turning the pages, I cared enough to find out what had happened but the ending was a bit of a splat rather than a bang.

Rachel is walking her dog when she sees a body, but she is not screaming, not calling the police, she is just returning home. Why? With the flashbacks, we find that Rachel is not Rachel, but Casey, a teenager, nanny, who was convicted for murdering the family she was sitting in America.
I did not like the ending, was it necessary to involve in the murder of young Carson, making him a murderer like Casey? This was not necessary, in my opinion.

This was one suspenseful, well-written thriller by Claire McGowan, it kept me glued to my Kindle until the end.
It starts with Rachel finding the body of her boyfriend's ex-wife's murdered in the woods and instead of calling the police she is running away. With that she became the prime suspect. But there is something else, there are two storylines that are connected with Rachel and both are connected with murders. The other one is about brutal murder that she was found guilty 20 years ago even she says she is innocent. It was a great ride to find out what happened back then and now. Is she really innocent or guilty you will have to find out yourself.
The plot and the characters are very well written and I recommend it for readers who like mysteries and psychological thrillers

I could not put this book down! It took a while to get into but was so well-written that it tended to pull you in when you thought you were done reading for the night. Just when I thought I had guessed the ending, there was another twist. My first book of 2022 was a favorite!

She does it again!

A delightful English thriller by Claire McGowan that does not disappoint!

In this book a woman, Rachel, finds herself accused of murder. Again. Told in dual timelines the author slowly peels back the layers of complex stories from the past and present. I’d recommend this book for any lover of thrillers.

I give this book 5 stars for plot and pacing, unfortunately only 3 stars for the ending. The books comes to a satisfying conclusion, but in this case I guessed a few of the twists.

Still, much enjoyed read. Many thanks to the publisher and author for allowing me to read this book.

This was a quick and engaging read. I enjoyed it and have already recommended it to several others!

Well this was a surprise. This is my first book by the author and I enjoyed it so much! The story is told in alternating chapters from the current murder to the past murders. It all kind of builds up to the climax when you find out everything that happened then and now. Although, you do have a pretty good idea what the results were going to be. After the climax, it does kind of immediately deep dive to the end of the book, which was really my only issue with the book. All together, it kept me turning pages late into the night, trying to figure it all out. I'd definitely recommend it.

I'm a big fan of Claire McGowan and I loved this book! It's definitely not a rip roaring fast paced thriller, it builds slowly and drip feeds you information. If that's not for you then maybe try something different.

I really enjoyed this book. Character development was good. The plot was very interesting. Not a lot of typos.

Edge of the seat suspense interspersed with quite a few too many very longwinded descriptions of random situations or locales that are not in any way connected to the development of the narrative. I usually like McGowans books, but found finishing this one to the end really tough going.
