Cleverly written in past and present by Casey at nineteen years old, a nanny in America and her olderself "Rachel" now working in kennels in the Lake District. When Rachel is out walking her dog one morning she comes across a dead body in her local woods. Not knowing what to do she runs home without reporting it to anyone. The dead woman is her boyfriend's wife, soon to be divorced. The situation brings up issues from her past in Los Angeles when she was convicted of the murder of the family she worked for.
I actually really liked this book. it was a great did she/did'nt she? Claire McGowan is one of my favorite writers and never lets me down. Highly recommended.

I read The Push before and absolutely loved it.
Rachel discovers a body in the woods and instead of reporting it or doing any other thing a normal person would do in such circumstances she simply ran and lied to the police.
Twenty years ago Rachel was accused of a horrible brutal family murder, miraculously escaping the death penalty and recreating her new life.
But someone is out there who know her and is determined to frame her and get her back to prison.

This book bought back memories of Louise Woodward - a UK nanny charged with murder in the US. Rachel/Casey lives a quiet life in the Lake District working at an animal rescue centre,. Her life falls apart when she discovers a body whilst walking her dog. The story is told through two timelines- the present and 20 years previously. The truth of what happened to Casey is slowly revealed in the flashbacks- although I had a hunch as to what had happened it was still a bit of a shock at the end. Great read.

I've enjoyed all of Claire McGowan's books and this one is no exception. I Know You is fast-moving and chock full of suspense.

When you get your hands and eyes in this kind of stories you enjoyed to the extreme.
This is the first book that I read of the author and didn´t disappointed. I really like the characters and how well it develops.
The authors gives voice to the same person at differents stages of her life and to me was very interesting. I think I never read somenthing like this before and I truly enjoyed reading from the beggining to the end.

This book held my interest from beginning to end. Sometimes I found myself holding my breathe until turned the page and read on. I loved the storyline, swopping between Rachel and Casey and the lies and truths. Each chapter closing in on the truth! A must read you will not want to put it down!

I love reading books told in multiple viewpoints and this does this but with a twist - the multiple viewpoints are from the same character but at different points in her life. It was well written and the plot was unravelled at the right pace with plenty of twists that kept me intrigued and wanting more right up until the satisfying end.

Well, this was a wonderful surprise! I didn't know anything about this author before reading this book, but I couldn't read this quick enough and will certainly be searching for other books she has written.

This book is written in two different timelines and follows the stories of Casey, a 19 year old who moves to America to become a Nanny for a young Hollywood family, and Rachel, a woman living a quiet life in the Lake District. Casey finds herself on Death Row, accused of killing the family she has been working for and Rachel stumbles across a dead body on her morning dog walk. The author drops clues along the way and works towards bringing both stories together as well as solving both of the mysteries.

I felt a real empathy towards both Casey and Rachel, mainly them feeling that they are SO unlucky to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The other characters were also well written and this was the kind of book that I just wanted to stay up all night reading.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book and would give it 4.5 stars.

I enjoyed this book more than I expected to. As I got closer to the end I was able to guess what had actually happened so there was no major surprises for me but it was still a good book. Well written too.

This is the story of a woman who has tried to rebuild her life after being convicted, and pardoned, from a murder charge in her teens, just to be caught up again in another murder in her new life.

It’s an interesting story, one which would put me off ever letting my daughter go off to be a nanny in America! I enjoyed the story of this more than the current day story which got a bit confused at times. It’s a good thriller though, I certainly wanted to see what happened. It also satisfyingly closed up the loose ends.

Whew! What a rollercoaster of a read. Rachel Caldwell is living a new life in the Lake District after being exonerated from California’s death row twenty years earlier, when she stumbles across a dead body for the second time in her life. What does she do? She runs, of course.

This was told in a dual narrative, from Rachel in present day, and Casey (Rachel’s real name) back in 2000. The story had a lot of potential and I love a dual narrative, but I guessed who’d committed both murders quite early on and so it didn’t quite hit the ‘amazing’ mark for me.

A solid, easy reader 3.5 stars for me. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for an honest review.

This was an utterly gripping and tense read that had me hooked from the very beginning, I highly recommend this book.

The story follows Rachel who stumbles upon a body of a woman, who happens to be the wife of the guy she is sleeping with. However, she does not call the police. In fact, she just runs. Why? Because Rachel has been accused and convicted of mass murder before.
The premise of this book was so good, it pulled me in from the start. I liked the way the story was told: how both events were presented interchangeably and the transcripts from different crime podcasts and newspapers added a nice touch. The changing of the stories in each chapter built larger suspense and it left me reading even faster to get to the next chapter.
Considering this was quite an original concept, I would have given this book a higher rating if it was not for some of the actions of Rachel and her trying to "solve" Anna's murder. She kept saying how she did not do it -- so many times so that you would believe she actually did do it. And I cannot forgive her for not telling the police about what she knew about Alex, the man kept saying that his (ex)wife was crazy. That is an instant red flag if I have ever seen one (hell, maybe even a red billboard).
All in all, the plot twist was seen from a mile away and I did figure it out (for both murders) at the 40% mark, plus the ending felt super rushed, I still enjoyed this book and had a fun time reading it.

A cleverly woven story following "Rachel" as she is drawn in to a murder near her home and her previous life as "Casey" where she was accused of murdering the family she worked for in the USA. Can someone be this unlucky twice. As the book progresses Casey reveals more of what happened in the US while trying to prove her innocence in the UK. You have a feeling that she is holding back something from the USA part of her life and with each chapter you feel you are getting closer to the truth. Clare McGowan doesn't disappoint.

I Know You is a double thriller, with the two stories playing out side by side, The events in LA, which lead up to the triple murder and Casey’s imprisonment, run alongside the police investigation into Anna’s murder and what role, if any, Rachel played in it. There are some interesting twists and turns along the way, and the final outcomes of both parts kept me guessing right until the end.

Very enjoyable read.

Really well written. Quite a good plot. I sort of guessed part way through but wasn't 100% until the end. Highly recommended.

This was a weaker novel from this author but still a fairly good read. Rachel finds a body in the woods but doesn’t report it. Rachel is hiding from her previous life and does not want any investigation to blow it all open again.

This is missing the fleshed out characters that McGowan usually writes and the story line is somewhat fantastical but a good enough quick read
