This was a lovely book encouraging children to have a more positive mindset. It contained some lovely activities for them too.

The ideas and thoughtful exercises in this book are designed to remind children to be grateful, while also taking into account their age and ensuring that the characters in the book look like them so they identify with them

This book is an excellent choice for helping children become kinder individuals. It would make a great gift.

My fascination with children's books is endless.
I started reading as early as I could, thanks to my parents (especially my fellow bibliophile father), and read a lot of books even then. Of course, we had a lot of fairytales and mythological tales (Indian cultural folktales) back then, but there were not a lot of books that really made you reflect, as a child. While our parents and education system tried to inculcate good values, there weren't diverse and individual paths to tread on, when on your own and reading.

Books like 'Give Thanks' by Naomi Schulman remind us how this narrative is really changing for children today and I am so glad I get to take a closer look at it.
The colours, the expressions, the thoughtful exercises to remind children to be grateful - while keeping in mind that they are children, ensuring that the children in the books are children who look just like them too, is endearing. It is honestly difficult, as yet, for me to be perfectly objective about children's books, I must admit. But, I think this book works very well, is a great resource for your children's growth into lovelier people (and a gift idea for other children too!), and should be an addition to classrooms everywhere, where possible.

Beautiful illustrations accompany an uplifting narrative of how we can make a difference in the world everyday. However, I think this is one that is best read together -- children might struggle when reading it alone. But that makes the book all the more important -- it's a wonderful tool for care givers and children to connect and explore the ways they can give thanks.

This is a lovely children's book that can help children develop and show more gratitude. The pictures are lovely and my children really enjoyed this book! I love the activities included to try and help children be more grateful and some of the ideas are even great for adults too!

I half liked this book. I think this is a great book to read with kids, but not a great books for kids to read on their own unless they're past that kindergarten stage. I love the concepts, but they can sometimes be a little... grown up? I just don't think the audience this book was made for would be able to absorb it on their own. However, I think that might be why this would make for a good family book.

I received an electronic ARC from Storey Publishing through NetGalley.
Wonderful ideas that encourage young readers to appreciate life. The questions challenge them to think about what they're thankful for as they move through a day. I appreciate that the questions are both inward and outward focused to encourage positive reactions to themselves and the world around them. This could be read as a family or class or as individual readers. Focusing on a couple of questions each day would make a great family time together.

My daughter and I loved this book and I think it is one of my favourite children's books that I have read this year. The illustrations are really bright, beautiful and colourful and the text is full of positivity, fun, joy and light. The book shows children how they can be more thankful and grateful for everything that they have and everything that is around them. It also shows them different activities and tools they can use to help them show thanks to everyone and everything. This is a superb book, which I highly recommend. It is amazing!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

My family and I love this book! Its cute, simple illustrations are perfect for my 3 and 7 year olds. There are lots of fun ideas that kids can do on their own or with siblings to explore ways they can show and feel gratitude. I love the ideas that we can all use everyday to give thanks; they spark larger conversations within our family about what it means to be thankful. There is a section that mentions being thankful for people in the community including farmers, truckers, and grocery store workers which are jobs not often included in these sorts of things. My favorite part is that it promotes positive self-talk: “When you brush your teeth, look in the mirror and tell yourself one thing you like about yourself”. What a great message!

From what I can tell, this is a nice, thoughtful book for kids on being thankful. Sadly, I find that children's books that I download from Netgalley don't quite work. I've tried on two devices-- a cellphone and a tablet and the books come out odd. Perhaps I will try using a laptop...or one of the other formats ( I downloaded the kindle version). The problem is the formatting. Since I mostly look at paper books in this category, I am uncertain if this is simply how kids' books work as ebooks. That said, thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for making this available to me. I am going to look at it again to see if it looks appropriate for my library buying area or if I will recommend it to a co-worker for her area.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Give Thanks is a fantastic children's book about not only being thankful for everything around us (even the littlest smallest things) but encouraging a positive mindset to look around us and find the good and positive things every day no matter how big or small.
I live how this book teaches and shows 50 different activities and ways in which to find and discover these things.
In a world of increasing worry, anxiousness, stress and fear this book is a beneficial and inspirational way to help instill mindfulness and positivity in future generations from a young age. Bravo!!

My kids and I really love this book! Its bright, happy illustrations and positive, uplifting text make a wonderful pair. I would love to purchase a hard copy of this book for our family and copies for friends, too! This is the type of book you want to be able to pick up again and again to refer back to.
Give Thanks presents readers with a multitude of kid-friendly ways to practice gratitude. I feel that starting to incorporate such a practice at an early age is something that will help my kids as they grow. It is also great for me to be able to share and go through these exercises with them! I think this is a perfect book for anyone interested in establishing an attitude of gratitude in children. It would be wonderful for teachers to use this book, too!
There are things such as take a mindful walk, thank your community, be a helper, appreciate animals, and notice the good stuff included amongst many others. Each page includes cute, modern illustrations and tips on how to complete the exercises in gratitude. I truly just think this is such a special book that has the ability to change families' lives. We all go through tough times, but things like the content of this book can help us to shift our focus a bit to think about what we can be thankful for.

I absolutely love this book. Not only does it encourage children to be thankful and appreciate what they have but it also offers great examples of activities to children where they can give thanks. I think interactive books like this book, Give Thanks, are beneficial to children. In a world where most things are easily assessible to children, it is important that children are taught to appreciate what they have. It is a great tool that can be accessed for play ideas by care givers and practitioners like myself.

It is full of brightly illustrated pages which are fun and inviting. They are easy to interpret and the text that accompanies them is easy to understand. The activities in the book are ones that are easy to do and I think children will enjoy taking part in them.

A great interactive way to encourage thanks and spread joy and positivity with little ones.

**I received an advanced copy of this book to read and review. Thank you NetGalley, the author and publisher for allowing me this opportunity**

This is a wonderfully colourful book which would make a great gift for a child 5 - 8 years old. HOWEVER it is really American. There are many words which British children don't use so I wouldn't buy it for that reason. Great idea and beautifully presented.
