Calm is an easy to read self-help book in The School of Life series that is filled with tips and strategies to help stay calm and decrease stress and anxiety. #TheSchoolofLife #NetGalley
A sage little book that reminds you that calm is an actively cultivated state of being. It discusses all aspects of life, how they might cause our blood to boil or heart to race and - most crucially - the techniques we can use to avoid anger and anxiety.
This book really helped me and as a self-help book, I really couldn't ask for any more! I struggle with stress and anxiety and the simple exercises and hints and tips have helped me to manage my own mental health and identify when and what is triggering me. It written quite simply which is exactly what I need when I was trying to apply the information to my own situation. Some self-help books are too wordy but this one was really easy to understand!
A helpful little book identifying triggers for stress and how and what to tackle. Good strategies and useful tips to identify calm and harmony. Interesting chapter on capitalism and its effects on our modern way of life. Thank you #NetGalley for the copy to review.

Thank you for the chance to read and review.
Having read 'Small Pleasures' in The School of Life series, I was expecting something similar. I found this book quite wordy and a bit hard to get into. As someone seeking calm and less anxiety (especially in a time of uncertainty and lockdown) I didn't find I took much away from this book to use in everyday life or to help me. There's no doubt it's a thoroughly researched book, it just wasn't what I was expecting or hoping for.
A great little book, this really helped me, it’s so insightful and useful, it’s plain English and helpful exercises are simple to follow and make a great difference. This is a great help at the moment and for anyone who needs to improve their calm, whether just generally or like me if dealing with anxiety and depression
