I've always enjoyed King's books. This one was probably one of the best ones of hers. Nicole, (THe MC) is unbelievably flawed and I have to be honest, that was one of the things that really drew me to her. She wasn't perfect in fact, she's a mess. She believes she can speak to objects and she will then relocate the items. Us normal people will call that stealing, but Nicole calls it relocating. Its because of her compulsion to relocate things that the novel comes about.

This was a great read with great characters who you really come to enjoy.

I really, really WANTED to love this one. The premise was unique and there was the word, "magical" in the outline of the book. I didn't really feel the magic.

Nicole has been in trouble many times in her life. She has a rap sheet and has done jail time. She's now in the mist of a divorce and newly out of jail. She begins to work at her sister's cleaning business (cleaning houses.) Nicole's problem has always been that she "relocates objects." She seems to have a magical gift (but this is not really explored.) Sometimes she gets an energy from an object that it needs to leave its place and then she gets a feeling of where it needs to be relocated. She doesn't feel it's stealing but that is just what she always gets accused of. This time she relocates a book from a house she's been cleaning. By doing this she becomes involved in a mystery.

It took exactly 50% into this story for me to start to enjoy it. The writing is pretty easy and nice to follow but the story is a little far fetched and lacks depth. Since the story picked up some and I was more invested I'll be rating it a 3 star. I do however feel it was more of a 2 1/2 star for my enjoyment. I was just expecting so much more from this one.

Her family is at the end of their rope with her, her husband is divorcing her, and she's even been arrested. She tries to resist the urge, but without success. Is there any way she can halt the downward course that her compulsions have set her on? I found this book so original and so intriguing. The author's description of what Nicole feels when an urge hits was palpable -- I was right there inside her skin! And the way the story unfolds, the way the compulsions orchestrate the trajectory of her life -- it's so unexpected and interesting. This was a wonderful read -- so compelling, fresh and unusual. I really enjoyed it and was sorry to see it end!

I didn’t know anything about the book when I started reading it. The author, Kerry Anne King, is someone that I’m familiar with as I’ve read several of her books (and loved them all!) When I read the summary of this one, I was super excited to read it.

The main character has a very unique aspect that I absolutely love. It is a big part of the story and is basically what sets the entire plot into motion. It is so different from anything else I’ve read, and I was really looking forward to learning much more about this gift. I was pretty disappointed when I realized that the book didn’t go very deep into the hows and the whys of this particular skill. Maybe the author could write a prequel about her past?

The characters in this story are fantastic. The “bad guy” is one of those characters that I want to slap whenever he appears, while the male protagonist seems like such a great guy that I rooted for him throughout the entire book. The main character has gone through a lot in life and definitely has her flaws - she is a very real person (personality wise, at least) and I enjoyed reading about her.

I love the plot of Other People’s Things. It has suspense, drama, romance, and more - the perfect marriage of genres to create a book that I just couldn’t put down. I was also very satisfied with the ending.

A quirky story about someone called Nicole who acquires items that belong to other people so that she can locate them where they should really be. In other words a kleptomaniac with a very special mission! One particular item is relocated, and sets in motion, a sequence of events that twist and turn. A clever read, but I did struggle at times to keep immersed in the story. That said, I read it and I enjoyed it.

I'll admit that it took a while for me to get gripped by this book but once I was, I couldn't put it down! Nicole (Nickle) likes to relocate objects - not to be confused with stealing - and this leads to her meeting Hawk and Andrea. Her relocation of some of these objects allows her to help other people as well as getting major issues in her life resolved and her own self discovery.

I enjoyed the chapters being written from different characters' perspectives and they all fitted together. King presents each of the main characters in detail and they are realistic and believable. The descriptions made me have an extreme dislike for Kent and a real sympathy for Nicole.

I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more of King's books in the future - I'm hoping there will be a sequel!

Great book. Nicole’s need to relocate things was interesting. Made me think of that in a way I hadn’t before. Nicole was likable character and a good person as was Hawk. You rooted for them to get to the bottom of things and also to get together.

Nicole’s family was somewhat justified in how they treated her but at the intervention it felt like they switched from Kent’s to Nicole’s side a bit quickly.

There were a couple of unexpected twists along the way and I liked how the ending wrapped things up so you knew what happened to the characters.

I’ve read a couple other books by Kerry Anne King and enjoyed them as i did this one.

Wow this was truly FANTASTIC, I loved Nickle and actually al the characters apart from Kent 🙈 urgh that man!!! What a wonderful story and plot, truly unique, I adored her relocation scheme she had going on and thought it was a brilliant gift she had! Honestly I would love to read more about Nickle and her life as she goes forward, please tell me there’s going to be a follow on book 😭 I need to know what happens next with her life, and Andreas too!

Absolutely love this fun, unique and quirky storyline of this book. I couldn't get enough of the main characters. I was hooked from the beginning...so good!!

This was a cute novel full of humour and wonder. About a kleptomaniac who insists she doesn't steal just relocates things. When she relocates a batter old novel the universe set out to throw a loop in her world and the world of her friends and family around her. I loved the humour throughout and how Nicole takes every bump and bruise and gets back up to face another day. thoroughly enjoyed this refreshing novel. and look forward to reading more from Kerry Anne King.

This story is fascinating, and keeps you wanting more. It has mystery, long time deeply kept secrets, a bit of romance, and a relatively happy ending.

A delightful new author for me, Kerry Anne King, definitely a creative thinker who will entrance and entertain you.
It’s quite difficult to review without giving away spoilers so I’m only going to say that the storyline was intriguing, the characters were both playful and likeable in their own way. Bringing the story together was sheer genius and very interesting.
Highly recommended and extremely addictive.

Things call to Nicole, they compel her to take them with her. As a result, her sticky fingers have earned her the title of Klepto and a bit of a record. Even with the negatives, she knows she is not actually stealing these items, she just moves them to where they are supposed to be. When her sister offers her a job cleaning houses Nicole begins with good intentions, but soon the items in people’s homes are leading her astray. And when Hawke, a PI, is hired to look for something Nicole has taken, Nicole begins to feel her “gift” might be leading her to more trouble than she can handle. 📚

This book comes out in September and I received my ARC from NetGalley.

This fascinating novel had everything I love in a story that keeps me turning the pages: A deeply flawed character that I feel connected with and I am rooting for from the very beginning, a unique premise, I love story in the background, and interesting characters who leave a complicated story together easily and effortlessly.

One note for the author: in chapter 30 when Andrea comes home from the hospital, there is no mention of Sylvester the cat. As a cat lover myself, I felt like Sylvester should’ve been there at the door, meowing, to greet her! Or at least he would have jumped up on her lap the first time she sat down or laid down.

This book follows Nicole who has sticky fingers and is called a kleptomaniac. Yet in Nicole’s mind- she just moves certain items to where the universe intends them to be. In this story we see Nicole move an item into a clients home & suddenly things start to unravel. This is a brilliant read with a wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Recommend this book to all as a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nicole has a bad habit of 'relocating' items to where she feels that they need to be. It's almost like a message from the universe. This has got her in trouble her whole life, including jail sentences. But it also led her to meet her husband, as he was her lawyer in one of her theft cases. Her latest relocation has been of $20,000 of her husband's money. Her whole family are disappointed in her, her marriage has broken down and Nicole feels desperate about where to turn next. The story starts as she's working with her sister as a domestic cleaner. and moves a small item from one customers home to another, unleashing a whole series of events.

I really liked the start of this book and loved the premise. But I don't know what happened! I lost interest halfway through, and just felt that the story became really inauthentic. It felt like the storyline just became very convenient and lacked depth, for me, so I stopped being invested in what was happening. I didn't think it was a bad book by any stretch but I like to dive wholeheartedly into a book and either love or hate the characters whereas I felt this just glossed over the surface of things. I didn't really feel Nicole's feelings, or the other characters. Maybe good as a quick/beach read (when beach reads are a thing again...). I'd feel harsh giving this 2 stars (really wish we could rate out of 10!) so will give it 3/10.

I loved the concept of this book. The plotlines were clever and there were so many twists and turns that you were constantly wondering what was going to happen next. I absolutely loved the character's of both Nicole and Hawk. I couldn't think of anything worse than having a compulsion like Nicole is afflicted with and having to deal with constant tension it causes within her family. Hawk is constantly misjudged because of his looks and stature. Once the two meet, there's a spark of mutual attraction and their chemistry sizzles as their friendship developes over time.
The storyline revolves around the objects Nicole has the compulsion to move, it can be anything from a battered paperback book to a stuffed bear. She then gets a feeling when she needs to transfer the item where it needs to be. It all makes sense as the book progresses and the loose ends all tie up neatly by the end of the book.
This really was an engrossing read. I had to keep reading to see where the author was leading me , as the reader. It has lovely characters that the protagonists meet along the way. I loved this book , it was refreshingly different. I thoroughly recommend it!
