Such a wild premise for a story! A pseudo kleptomaniac who kinda, sorta, almost? steals stuff... but then relocates its not for actually keeping. I haven''t read anything like this and I read a lot, so it was refreshing to take in a fresh storyline. I was a tad off about the romance. But otherwise really enjoyed King's writing style. I'll definitely pick up more books from this author in the future. Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I absolutely loved this book. The characters really came alive and I felt invested in their journey.
Nicole feels objects calling to her and is compelled to relocate them to where they want to be. Is it a gift or a curse? it often gets her into trouble with family, friends and the law but it soon becomes clear that there may be a deeper meaning to her object relocation problem.
Nicole's estranged husband Kent is a nasty piece of work and I hate the manipulative way he treated her. Thank goodness for Hawk who is a positive influence on her life. The chapters from Andrea's perspective were intriguing and it was great to see how it all fitted together.
I will be highly recommending 'Other people's things' and look forward to reading more by the author.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy.

Thanks to Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed the premise of this book where a woman who’s thought of as a kleptomaniac is really “moving” things to where they belong. The items call to her in a way, asking to be moved to a different owner, There’s a sense of magic without being overly fantasy-like and I found myself feeling sympathy for the main character even though she was portrayed as a thief. I would read more by this author in the future!

I love books with a quirky storyline and quirky characters. This book fulfills all of that and more. It is a refreshingly original plotline that is part metaphysics, part suspense/mystery and part romance. I highly recommend it.
Nicole Wood’s special gift/curse has landed her in jail, alienated her family and earned her the label of kleptomaniac. Painful as the consequences are, she refuses to reject her role in what she calls an “Object Relocation Program.” You might say she has a unique ability to sense (physically) when an object is out of place in the universe and then moves it to its desired locale. The question she grapples with over and over again is whether this gift helps or hurts other people.
I was drawn into this book from the very first page. The characters are well-crafted and evoke strong emotional responses from the reader depending on their attitudes and actions toward Nicole. For anyone who has ever felt misunderstood and “different,” this book will resonate and provide a redeeming theme.
This is my first exposure to this author and I look forward to reading more of her offerings.
My thanks to the author, Lake Union Publishing, and NetGalley for the privilege of reviewing a digital ARC in exchange for an independent, honest review.

This book as very cool. I was interested from the very first page. A compulsion to take things is very intriguing. I didn’t like how fast Hawk fell for Nicole but I came around to loving them. I also really love Penelope :)

'The Inferno describes Dante's journey through Hell, guided by the ancient Roman poet Virgil'
I absolutely loved this book, the plot line was totally original & really enjoyable to follow. It's characters were detailed & lead character Nickle was so misunderstood & her ex husband was a total narcissistic arse!
This book was a magical mystery of words, the unexplained, romance & family drama. It's the first book I've read by this author & I'm definitely looking forward to reading more.
Nicole Wood's family think she is a kleptomaniac, she has previously been jailed for theft, but however she tries to explain that she's not stealing, she's relocating the items the universe has chosen her to do.
I'm not going to reveal anymore as you need to savour the magical delights of this one's for yourself ✨
Many thanks to Netgalley for my ARC in return for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. It was the perfect mix of mystery, drama, and a bit of romance to keep me intrigued throughout the whole story.
This book follows Nicole who has sticky fingers and is called a kleptomaniac. Yet in Nicole’s mind- she just moves certain items to where the universe intends them to be. We see Nicole move an item into a clients home & suddenly things start to unravel. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys general adult fiction with a dash of romance & some mystery and intrigue sprinkled throughout. Thank you to Net Galley, Kerry Anne King, & Lake Union Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What if you had a special gift/curse that no one understood? Nicole has a secret operation where she "relocates" items to where they belong, but is there more to this gift than meets the eye? In and out of prison, practically disowned from her own family and headed for divorce, Nicole refuses to give up. With every trial that's thrown her way, she finds courage to face it head on. Along the way she makes friends that see her gift in a different light. This book started out slow for me but the more her story built and the deeper the author dove into Nicole's story the more I felt myself drawn to the characters and rooting for them. This is unlike any story I've read before and I commend Kerry Anne King for her work on a stand out novel. Thank you to NetGalley and Kerry Anne King for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I received this book "Other Peoples Things" from NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own. Sleepless nights await you. I stayed up way too late reading this book. I really didn't want to put it down. This is a fascinating suspenseful story. I loved all the characters, even Kent who I loved to hate lol. The story flows so smoothly with unexpected twists and turns. I would love to see a 'book two' continued with these characters. Really an amazing book. I love unusual mystical, magical themes in books and so I really loved the story line here. Definitely my favorite book by Kerry Anne King. A must read!

Nicole ‘relocates’ things. Most people think she steals things but she knows that they aren’t happy where they are and need to be moved. I found this whole premise a bit much, really and that’s the reason for the lower stars. That said, I really enjoyed the author’s way with words again and they are multiple layers that come together at the end. There’s her ex-husband, Kent, who she has stolen (sorry, relocated) £20,000 from. There’s the PI he hires to get it back, her family, and Andrea- a woman she cleans for. There’s are two events which show that Nicole’s gift leads to good outcomes. If you can go along with this, this is a lovely read.

Loved it!!! Unique story about a woman who is kinda a klepto, but not really, as she relocates items she takes and doesn't keep them. Story line has mystery, romance and a touch of magic. Story started a bit slow but once it got going, couldn't put it down. Love this author.

When is a kleptomaniac not a kleptomaniac? This book was so compelling that I read it in much less time than I usually read a book. I loved the characters, every single one of them. It could have been contrived and hard to swallow, but it most definitely not either of those things. Kerry Anne King is a skilled writer. She made me want to unravel these lives and the mysteries that surround them. Her ability to add just a touch of the supernatural adds significantly to an intriguing story line.

This was a cool premise and a nice surprise. After the first chapter I almost stopped but by the end of chapter 2 I was intrigued. Great characters with a unique story. Quick read and a good one.

Wow! What a fantastic read. As usual, Kerry Anne King has written a unique storyline that pulls the reader in from page one. Thank you for the opportunity to read this!

Wow! I could not put this book down! This was such a unique story and really had everything. It was suspenseful while a little bit funny. The love story was so different, really two underdogs coming together. The story follows Nicole aka Nickle, who is really at her lowest low. She has been in and out of jail for something she feels is really out of her control, which was another special part of the book (I love magical realism in books!) The book is really about her finding her strength and confidence. Also, the story lends itself to becoming a series which I would love to read more about these characters.
Thanks to Netgalley and Lake Union Publishing for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book has a bit of everything in it. There’s a little magic, mystery, romance and some undesirable characters.
Nicole has this compulsion to move things from one location to another. This has landed her in hot water many times. Now her soon to be ex husband wants his money back that she relocated.
There were times I wished I could reach inside this book to shake or choke some of the characters. This book keeps you turning the pages, rushing to find out what happens.
I really enjoyed this book and can’t recommend it enough.
Definitely add to your list!
Thank to Netgalley and the publisher for the early copy

Since she was a child, Nickle has had a habit of relocating objects, seen as kleptomania by those near and dear to her. Her relocation, though, is about objects wanting to be moved, not actually keeping them for herself. Consequently, she's had a rather troubled life so far with several stints in jail for theft, a limited work history, and a family who seems to barely tolerate her at best.
As the story opens, Nickle has been kicked out by her husband after moving $20,000 dollars from his desk because it wanted to be moved. Her estranged husband Kent has hired PI Hawk to follow her and find the "stolen" money. Her sister Roberta tries to help her out by hiring her to work for her cleaning company. When Nickle's compulsion strikes again while working, it sets off a series of events and meetings that has wide-ranging consequences.
This was quite an easy read and it was sometimes hard to put it down. Nickle is a sympathetic character who has no control over the compulsions to relocate items. But she is surrounded by people who still view this as theft and so, have little understanding of what drives her, providing solutions that don't quite fit the circumstances.
Her estranged husband, Kent, is a slick lawyer type whose motivation for marrying Nickle is questionable.
Along with Nickle, there are Hawk and Andrea, who have major trauma in their personal histories, which has shaped their personalities in major ways. The book is told in all three of their voices so we understand more as the story unfolds.
In her family, Nickle is the youngest of four children and there are tensions between them, some due to her relocation issues but some being the usual sort of problems that happen in families. I found sometimes they could be quite annoying at times, especially with the way they could easily be swayed by the words of those considered more reliable. Her mother is the least problematic, trying to help her no matter the situation.
The only accepting person in Nickle's life has been Ash, her best friend who she met in jail. Ash may not understand the reasons for why Nickle does the relocating but she accepts her as she is. She's a great support during this latest trial and Nickle is able to provide support for Ash and her young child in exchange.
Overall this was a really good read and I highly recommend it. I give it 4 solid stars.
Thank you to Netgalley and Lake Union publishing for sharing an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest and fair review.

Nicole has an interesting way at looking at life and the way items are in it. A unique concept, well executed and fun to read.

Wow. This book was incredible. I am so excited to have been given a chance to read Other People’s Things. I loved everything about it, down to the adorable cover... I am a sucker for a cute cover. This was a could not put it down book, that constantly kept you guessing, wondering, and reading to get a clue or an answer to the next question. This book tells the story about Nicole, who has an object relocation ‘habit.’ We follow the story of her, the friends she makes along the way, brought together by the universe and her ‘habit’, and her family. This story is fascinating, and keeps you wanting more. It has mystery, long time deeply kept secrets, a bit of romance, and a relatively happy ending.
Thank you NetGalley and Lake Union publishing for the opportunity to read this book!

This novel has heart, love, suspense, drama and magic all woven together into an amazing, really cool"story!
"Welcome to the world of Nicole, where nothing--- and I mean nothing---is ever normal."
I love Nicole! She has guts, determination and only tells the truth. She cannot lie.
She has a mystical gift that has always created a ruckus in her life and for those she cares about.
She relocates objects that need to find their rightful owner. Is this considered stealing?
However, this has often given Nicole jail time, and has traumatized others at times.
When she relocates something that her estranged husband has hidden, the world truly begins to unfold for Nicole and for anyone that she has come to know!
He will stop at nothing to get this back!
This is a great book that had me hooked from the very first page!
Excellent!
