A bit of a slow read - hard to get into a flow. Perhaps more info on the man himself. Thank you Dilip Sarkar MBE and NetGalley for the chance to review this book.
An interesting novel about one of the greatest aces in the RAF in WW2. The first hand accounts and stories by those who knew him really added to the enjoyment of this book. I found the story inspirational and his actions after the war to try and fight apartheid were moving. A great read.
Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Sadly not as good as it could have been.
A lot of this book is just Malan's flight log and squadron after action reports. This becomes really boring after a while. There is no real attempt to put Malan into context. There should have been more detail on the Apartheid struggle perhaps.
