This book is very spiritually based but I loved the concept of basing what I am eating around my hormones and what I may be lacking/in need of. I thought that some of the recipes are very challenging but there were also a few delicious recipes I tried that I would make any time.
This is such a fun idea for a cookbook!
Thanks to NetGalley / Edelweiss and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this book in exchange for a review.
I enjoyed reading this cookbook. I found it interesting and I will try out a few of the recipes, but it is not the easiest cookbook I've read/tried. If you enjoy reading cookbooks, you will more than likely enjoy reading this one.
This book talks about the four phases of the year and how to take care of your body, mind and spirit during your menstrual cycle. It talks about different foods and rituals that are good for you. I like that it shows how and what kind of ingredients to get but also makes sure that everyone knows to do what they feel is best for them and their is no wrong way. It's also one of the most informative menstrual cycle book I hav read. It talks about how to help with cramps and all the other different symptoms. There are also many different recipes that look amazing
This book is such a fresh and unique take on holistic self care during your cycle, with accompanying studies and philosophies to support you at every stage, not just during times of unwieldy symptoms which can stem from imbalances during other phases of one's cycle.
I found this book not only useful as a cookbook chock full of nourishing recipes, but as a guide to understanding my body and cycle so much more intimately.
The cookbook was laid out in a clear, concise manner. The explanations of the why before the recipes were introduced was especially helpful. The recipes were nothing I might have given a second glance at if I were scrolling through the internet. However, I found most of them to include easy to find ingredients which is always important to me. A few might not exactly be my "cup of tea", but for the most part the recipes were for things I would happily eat!
This was a very informative cookbook! I like that it is relatable and easy to read. I didn't feel like anything was particularly over my head. I feel that the information could be useful for mothers of teenage daughters that are having difficulty during their menstrual cycles. As mother's, we can't take everything away, but we may be able to help in this regard. Very nice job!
In recent years, there has been a trend for those who menstruate to better understand their cycle and the broader indicators towards general health. Loftus and Radomski have teamed up to provide an highly insightful and practical application book for those seeking to implement a more holistic approach to feeding their bodies. 'The Moon Cycle Cookbook' is designed to guide the reader through the phases of the moon and how that can affect the course of a menstrual cycle. The recipes featured are nutrient complex but easy to follow cooks of all levels. If you are looking to understand menstruation better look no further than this thoughtful book. Assuredly more than a cookbook, readers will walk away with a more grounded understanding of how to nurture their own cycle. Happy reading!
As a society, I feel we haven't done a great job with teaching ourselves and our girls how to love our bodies, how to understand what our bodies need during our monthly hormonal changes and how to appreciate and worship our feminine spirit.
This book goes a long way in focusing on all of these ideals plus provides such yummy recipes to nourish your body during different times of your monthly cycle. Great recipes! So many useful tips to support a women's health and well-being.
I've never seen a book like this before. It's simply fabulous! It has a little bit of a witchy vibe in it too. I feel like I need to grow an herb garden under the moon and have a lot of incense burning when I'm reading this. Outstanding!!
An enchanting book that is full of ideas and inspiration. I have never seen a book with this concept before. I was learning things in an undaunted way.
The Moon Cycle Cookbook is such an artistic and unique idea for a cookbook. I truly think that I have not encountered any other books on this theme, and it was a joy to read this book. I love the focus on being one with nature and cooking for one's body and what one's body needs at different phases of life.
As someone who did not know much about this topic to start with, the authors are fantastic with explainations of from the get go with simple terminology . The chapter on menstrual health, food, and tips is so helpful.
This was a very interesting spin on a cookbook: it's geared toward women's cycles, from menstruation to pregnancy to menopause. Each time of life has its own needs, as we know and this cookbook helps keep health at the forefront with the food we put into our bodies.
This was a great cookbook and I really enjoyed reading through the recipes. I definitely found some that I will be making.
Great resource of how to naturally support your (female parts) body through your total menstrual cycle. Lots of seriously yummy recipes that are gluten-free and have dairy options when available.
Every recipe is specifically formulated in regards to what is happening hormonally in a woman’s body during each cycle phase, using ingredients that replenish and support essential nutrients. (I know it's basically stated in the blurb, but I really dig that).
As a female-part bearer that has entered into the 'I've been having menstrual periods for over half my life" league, I feel it may actually be time to, oh, I don't know, listen to what my body is telling me during my cycles. I've had children, I'm entering my 40's, and well, I feel I'm pretty in sync with my cycle. But I find it utterly fascinating regarding the recipes and how the nutrients could help support my hormonal fluctuations but also help with some of my random cravings at certain times.
The Moon Cycle Cookbook provides a variety of recipes (breakfasts, snacks, lunch and dinner ideas as well as desserts and drinks. I was happily surprised that most (like 99%, I think there was 1 soba noodle dish) were gluten-free and had dairy-free options. I'm gluten intolerant and think it's such a great thing when cookbooks take the time to help with recipe alterations or work out a pure GF recipe.
This book is absolutely a great resource for those wanting to take a deeper dive into nurturing themselves through their cycles.

Certainly a fresh perspective. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first saw "The Moon Cycle Cookbook" and while I appreciate reading through a more holistic view of the menstrual cycle and browsing a fresh collection of recipes, this approach just wasn't a good fit for me personally. This cookbook definitely reminded me of the recent popularity in astrology and I think would be more enjoyable for those who are interested in those ideas.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought I was educated about menstruation but I learned so much more in this book than I had in any health class. It breaks down your entire cycle and explains what your body needs and how to get it. My body becomes very disregulated while I am on my period and trying some recipes and advice from this book really helped. I would recommend every person with a period to read it!
Easy to read and understand. I liked the quick overview of the stages of menstrual cycles and of course, the recipes.
If you’ve ever wondered if eating certain foods would help relieve your menstruation symptoms, then this is the cookbook for you. The book is broken down into the four phases of your cycle to help you feel balanced for the entire month. There are tips throughout, like using yoga and why you might feel certain ways at that time. These recipes are everything from breakfast to drinks and dessert. Most of the recipes can be prepared fand frozen for those, like me, who like to cook in advance. Did you know that you can sprout nuts? I didn’t. This will guide you in how and when to use those sprouted nuts.
This was a fascinating cookbook. I learned a lot about the moon cycle and how to incorporate it into my own life. It was an interesting read.
