I really enjoyed this book and loved the main character, Emma and although the story felt a bit predictible, I really didn’t mind at all as it was such a lovely and sweet read
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
Lovely feel good book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book
This was a really gorgeous summery-esque read. The characters were great and the premise was very enticing, I flew through every page.
Having read My Mamma Mia Holiday I was expecting big things from this book.
The story did not disappoint. It was a delight to read and I could not put it down.
I can't wait for the next read from Annie!
I do tend to enjoy an Annie Robertson book, and this first book in a new series was no exception.
With a dramatic prologue that was the catalyst for Emma moving to Scotland and Lobster Bay, and then a heartwarming story, this really did make me smile.
Without a doubt Wilbur is my favourite character. Emma didn't realise he came with the house and is not a huge fan of dogs. But he is missing his old owner, and has a heart of gold.
I enjoyed getting to know the various locals in the Bay, and always enjoy reading about close knit communities.
The human characters are all really lovely and realistic and I would love the chance to stay in thus guest house, but perhaps after Emma's had more practice cooking breakfasts.
A great opening to a new series that i found to be a fast and enjoyable book to read. And since I have the next book in the series already loaded on my kindle, o won't have long to wait to see what happens next.
Thank you to Welbeck and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
This was such a cosy and heart-warming book! 💚💚💚
I loved reading about Emma so much! The storyline was cliched but had a very unique touch too. You need to read the book to know what I mean, lol. Seeing Emma achieve her dreams of running a Guesthouse made me feel so proud. I connected to her from the very beginning of the story, and empathized with her struggles. Her character development throughout the story was remarkable. Recovering from traumatic events is never easy, but Emma chose to be strong and built her own path to success. SO MUCH POWER.
Aidan and Emma's blooming romance was such a delightful part of the book! All of the supporting characters added their own charms to the storyline as well. :') Can't wait to read the Christmas sequel!
When Emma sees The Guesthouse at Lobster Bay for sale, she knows it's the seaside haven she needs to recover from a recent trauma. But as soon as Emma collects the keys, her dream of owning a successful guesthouse unravels . . .
Emma has a month to get the house ready before her guests arrive, a task made harder by the discovery that an enormous dog was included in the sale. Then there's the unwelcoming next-door neighbour, Aidan, who Emma must turn to for help. As Emma and Aidan work together, they grow closer, but then Aidan is called away and Emma has to carry on alone.
Over the summer, Emma must navigate unforeseen dilemmas and new friendships, and keep her business afloat. But as she falls in love with Lobster Bay, is she also falling for Aidan?
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this fantastic book.
Emma has had a dream to run a guesthouse since she was young, following a tragic event she decides that this is exactly what she is going to do, Despite the scepticism from her family Emma buys a guesthouse without viewing it. Determined to make it work the story follows Emmas journey from newbie to successful with trials, tribulations, gossip and a few misunderstandings along the way. This story is all encompassing so set aside time to read it, dont make plans and enjoy the wonderful world of Emma!
This was the first book I’ve read by the author and it won’t be the last! I absolutely loved this! Thanks for the free book!
Thanks to netgalley for the advanced ebook to review. An easy and enjoyable read with great characters.
After being caught up in a traumatic event Emma decides to change her life completely and buys a guesthouse on the Scottish coast. I really enjoyed this book as the storyline flows very nicely and the characters are very likeable. I’m looking forward to reading the Christmas sequel.
This was a really good read. Easy story to follow, charming setting and great characters. Really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed this book and liked the characters and story. I’d give it a solid 3 stars as personally I found it lacking in the wow factor that really gripped me.
If you want a god read go to Lobster Bay guesthouse. The characters are friendly and it makes you feels as though you want to be with them all. An easy fun read and one to be enjoyed from the very first page. 5 stars.
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
After surviving a terrorist attack, Emma decides to change her life. She dumps her boyfriend, quits her job and buys a guest house in Scotland, sight unseen.
In Lobster Bay, she realises there is more to the guesthouse than she originally thought, with hard work and new friends Emma is determined to make a success out of it. That also means talking to the handsome Aidan, her new, standoffish next-door neighbour.
Loved this book, I can’t wait t read the Christmas adventures of Emma and Lobster Bay.
I loved this book. The story is not very original - someone moves from the city to the country to start over -, but the reason why Emma decides to do that was, and the story was very well told. I loved the main character Emma although I sometimes felt should she talk, life would be easier all round.
The plot was a little predictible, which I didn't mind at all because who doesn't like a good happy ending?
I enjoyed the description of the place as well and the people who live there.
A heartwarming and sweet story, I thoroughly enjoyed it and rooted for the characters.
Lovely setting. likeable characters and a compelling plot.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
I loved the quirky title of this book. Lovely contemporary romance and likeable characters. Thank you for the ARC.
The Guesthouse at Lobster Bay by Annie Robertson is a wonderful contemporary romance that was a breath of fresh air and a wonderful escape. I truly enjoyed it.
I loved this story. After a life-altering and traumatic experience, Emma decides her life needs a chamge. She doesn’t really know who she is or what she wants for her life at this point. She tosses out an offer on a major fixer upper guesthouse in Scotland, and somehow gets it. Through her obstacles, rennovations, complications, she finds rays of hope in new scenary, new inspirations, friendships, and also a possible new relationship with Aidan.
Can Emma overcome all that she has taken on? Will Emma and Aidan find what they are looking for in life within one another? I loved readingthis book to find out. I am so excited to see that there will be a second book, and possibly a series?!?! Sign me up!
5/5 stars

This was a lovely book, out of a disaster comes happiness, I liked the characters and look forward to revisiting them in the Christmas book, a very easy read that keeps you wondering and wanting to know more, which for me is a sign of a good book
Loved the idea of a get up and go! This is exactly what Emma does, after leaving london and arrives in Lobster Bay. She buys a guest house not realising that guests arrive within a month. Really a delightful read. I fully recommend this story. Delightful!
