Inspiring and uplifting - this book has a great deal to offer.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.
Contains helpful advice intermingled with autobiographical details from the author's life and journey. A little meandering and somehow male-orientated for my personal preference but I'm sure it will appeal to many.
I struggled to get past the spiritual side of this book. Not for me, but I would imagine it is a good read for someone who wants to use their spirituality in their personal improvement.
As the tagline states, the aim of this book is to "Activate Your Positivity, Maximize Your Productivity, Serve the World". I would definitely say it meets those aims.
Sharma has crafted an easily digestible guide to leading the healthiest, happiest, and most fulfilling of lives. Each chapter was short, most measuring in it only a page or so, which made this book easy to dip into when the whim took me and for each nugget of information to properly settle before moving on, when I next picked this book up. I liked this format and the abundance of small areas it covered. It never felt too bogged down by anecdote, instruction, or information to impart.
I do like reading Robin Sharma and I loved "The Monk who Sold his Ferrari". There is a lot of good stuff in this book and the short chapters (some only a few paragraphs) let you read something then put the book down to contemplate how the advice might apply. But there is also lot of name dropping and biography in among the gold. Which is fine if you’re happy to have that. I’d have preferred more depth to the real nuggets.
Mr Sharma knows how to write an engaging story and he knows how to capture the attention. I will be taking on board some of his ideas around focus and expectations you have for yourself but I think the book could have been shorter and more pithy.
That said, I will continue to read Mr Sharma as there is enough worthwhile information in his books to make it a pleasure.
I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley
This book gives you all the information and tips to kick start your life and become a different person, and the encouragement starts from page one, whilst not being too overbearing!
If you enjoy Robin Sharma's brand of encouragement and soul/personal progression, then you'll love this one. Do think it's his best yet. There's all he's learned, and also the hindsight of age, which we tend to discount in life, but truly, living and aging bring their own types of wisdom, which the author is able to impart here.
There's nothing life-changing here, yet at the same time, this book can also upend your entire universe... I do think it's one of those that require contemplation during the reading process (hence the very long time it took me to finish it) - this isn't one of those race-cover-to-cover-and-done books. Imparted in nuggets, some entirely useless and some soul-altering, it's a book to savour, one to let percolate and settle before moving on. Also one, I believe, that would be good to pick up every year, whether at the start to create new goals, or at the end to see how far you've come - so this one will definitely remain on my shelf to be dusted off once every year during periods of reflection
The everyday Hero Manifesto is inspiring and has really made me reassess how I look at things and life in general.
When reading I felt connected to Robin through his honesty and great stories with morals behind them that really resonated with me.
This book is inspiring and thought provoking. Changed some of my thought processors
Loved this book. Really alot of food for thought, such a positive book and changed my perspective on a lot of things particularly work, health and exercise.
Overall, a book worth reading! I liked that the book was similar to a 'Rules of' book (by Richard Templar) where you could read one or two chapters quite easily before going to bed.
Good points:
- Most of the chapters were quite amusing and enjoyable to read 👌
- The chapters which included 'Circle Of Legends' content seemed really interesting/useful 👍
- Many chapters gave an insight in to Robins personal life and had pictures - these were great!
Not so great:
- There were around five chapters which were very, very short and didn't seem very well written - they seemed a bit out of place in the book.

I'd recommend this book to others.
I was already a fan of the 5am club, so I was keen to read this book.
There are so many insights to help you tackle difficult situations and overcome personal anxiety. You can open at any page and instantly be armed with another tactic to add to your suit of armour and use in everyday life.
Best tip...have a notepad ready (or highlighter if you're that way inclined) to write down all your favourite tips.
Many thanks to #Netgalley and the publisher and author for my ARC #TheEverydayHeroManifesto in exchange for an honest review.
Robin Sharma has made his name as the foremost 21st century personal development coach, and this is his latest wellbeing offering. I have to admit I almost closed the book again after reading the bombastic first sentence of the dedication that proclaims that ‘vast genius, decency and heroism’ reside within each individual. A statement immediately recognisable as hyperbole, because if it were true, each of these three admirable qualities would be synonymous with ordinariness. What of the readers who pick up his book with the humbler aim of simplifying their lives and settling to be good citizens instead?
To Sharma’s credit, the main chapters are, in contrast to the slightly pompous dedication, simply and stylishly written, so this book should garner Sharma even more fans. The insights he shares here include tactics to survive difficult times, to conquer personal anxieties, and to build a prosperous future. Chapter 16 entitled Radiant Vitality particularly resonated with me. The lessons delivered here are not as ground-breaking as Sharma’s The 5am Club was, but this book provides some thought-provoking ideas of resilient and positive 21st century living.
Fan’s of Robin Sharma won’t need any convincing of the power of his word. I first came across Robin through his inspirational leadership talks at Pendulum Summit where I took copious notes!
His most recent book is out this month and The Everyday Hero is a collection of 101 short treaties that reminded me of the A.C. Grayling books in that you can open it at any of the chapters and take from them what you will.
The nature of the book, I have not yet read it all. It warrants slow more considered reading than a quick read review and this is one I will be taking time to read and reflect on.
This was okay a lot of it I have read elsewhere over this past year whilst I have been reconnecting with myself. The extra bits on famous 'hero's were interesting.
I also liked the mantra and have been using
I was given a free copy by the publishers and netgalley but the review is entirely my own..
