When Milo goes missing, it becomes a question of who took him? The childminder, a member of the family or a complete stranger? A fast paced, page turning thriller which kept me completely enthralled. I was a little baffled with the random reason for the kidnapping at the end, but the second twist was a complete shocker! Well worth a read.
I loved this book and found it impossible to put down. It’s fast moving, with some great twists and turns. I’d recommend this story to my family and friends. It won’t be the last book I read by Andrea Mara.

When Marissa goes to collect Milo from a play date at Jacob’s house gets the biggest shock, since at the address texted by Jacob’s mom is not their address and Milo is not there. It seems she has not been texting Jacob’s mom, but someone pretending to be her. Surely there is a logical explanation, but after calling the other parents, suddenly Marissa and Peter fears the worst: her son has been kidnapped!
There will be many twists and turns, and a dark episode from Marissa and Peter’s past will also come to light.
Great book with a very gripping story- even though the ending felt a bit too stretched.
This was such a good book to start with and I thought that it was gonna go on to be a great stroy but I found myself quickly falling out with it and towards the end I just thought it was a bit far fetched.
WHAT A BOOK!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish, it was so hard to put down and get on with daily life.
I was gripped from the very beginning. It was fast paced leaving you wondering who had taken milo and why.
What a fantastic ending which I didn’t see coming.
This is my first book by Andrea Mara and it certainly won’t be my last!
Best book I’ve read in a long time. Thank you netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book.
*Thanks to NetGalley and Andrea Mara for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.* This book starts with a bang and had me gripped from the very start. Set in a wealthy suburb of Dublin, Marissa's son Milo goes missing during an apparent mix-up about a playdate. As the story unfolds, it becomes all too clear that there has been no mix-up. Instead, there has been a devious plot to kidnap young Milo. Everyone in the book seems to have a secret that they are keeping from those closest to them, which builds upon the layers of intrigue and tension in the story. An enjoyable read.
This is a brilliant book. I found it very well written and I found the characters intriguing to say the least!
The book was well paced and had lots of things I wasn't expecting in there. Overall a great book.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers and the author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion
This was equal parts of excitement and nail biting suspense to know the motive behind such an act. I love this arc and so was thrumming with impatience to get to the second half of the book where the truths would be revealed.
There was an ebb and flow to my emotions as I kept tapping my kindle.
Read on…
The Good
Omg! The final reveals had a shiver coursing down my back at the layers hidden in an innocuous plot line.
Till the last line, the author managed to keep me piqued as there was many shockers.
The Bad
The book took me 2 days to finish when it should have taken me three hours, that was due to the fact that the mid section slowed down a bit and tension was lightened.
Maybe if I had skipped the pages and gotten to the delicious last few chapters, the pace would have felt fast for me.
The Conclusion
Rocking twisters made it so worth my time and emotions. Would love to see what the author came up in her next book.
Well where do I start, was brilliant, very hard to put down an intriguing storyline weaved very well, finished with a bang and a twist I never saw coming at all
Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this arc

Loved this book, a gripping read and one that has you from page one, it didn’t let up, a fast paced book with a fair few twists and turns, what more could you want!!!! Defo a must read!

I received this arc through netgalley and the publishers in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely raced through this book as I need to know if they found the missing child and who had taken them and why
I would highly recommend this book and will be looking out for other books by Andrea Mara
As soon as I saw the plot , I knew I had to have this book. It was so well written and it had me from the start to the finish.
Loved this book! Constant changes and surprises and I couldn’t put it down!!!! A plot that unravels like an onion! Loved !
Wow what a brilliant book. I enjoyed it that much I purchased a copy for my Mum. I could not put this book down. An absolute must read!
Don’t think you know what’s going on, don’t try to work it out as it’ll just give you a brain ache. This is a very well plotted book with great characters and keeps you on your toes throughout. I particularly liked the different povs of Marissa, Jenny and Irene and because each part was prefaced with the timeline, there was no chance of getting confused.
My only slight irritation was that the 4 year olds were extremely pliable and when the adults were talking they either didn’t take in what was said or went immediately and willingly to play on their own in another room while the adults talked …. Yeah really! I’ve never known a child do this without some sort of bribery or rejection of the idea of being sent away. However this didn’t spoil the book and I’m happy to award five stars.
This author has once again written a great thrilling novel. This is a story of a child going on a playdate with a classmate but when his mother arrives to pick him up, the mummy from the playground who supposedly texted the invitation knows nothing about it. The drama increases as other characters in the story get involved and the search for the child and perpetrator ensues.
A gripping, well-written page-turner. I was able to see some of the twists coming (which left me feeling pleased with myself) but there were so many I didn't catch them all. I'm looking forward to a few years time when I've forgotten them and can enjoy this read again.
Well that was one of the most riveting yet strange books I think I've read.
Right from the off it had me completely hooked. I think maybe as a mother I put myself in Marissa's shoes. Every parents worse nightmare is to lose a child so when Marissa arrives at Jenny's house to collect her son and not only is he not there but it's also not even Jenny's house... how the hell would you react?
I must admit I loved the 'evil mother in law' , she was a fantastic character to read. All characters were really well executed and so multi layered, with each new revelation another layer seemed to peel away revealing more and more about who they really are.
I have to say the authors portrayal of mothers at the school gates was spot on. The bitchiness, back stabbing and spitefullness was exactly what I've come to expect from those mum 'cliques'.
A story full to the brim of misdirection, red herrings and twists galore. It never let's up from the very beginning to the very end (which is a bit of a shocker)
A brilliantly well paced thriller that had me hooked.. what more can you ask for?
4.5*
