I’ve been wanting to read more graphic novels so when I saw this on NetGalley. I immediately requested it. The cover and the description had me intrigued and I can honestly say after reading this that this graphic novel did not disappoint. The illustrations are vivd and fun, suiting the premise of the story quite nicely.

This graphic novel is about a girl named Elle who just moved to a new school. She seems bubbly, sweet and even makes friends fairly quickly. However, Elle does struggle with having multiple different personalities that come out when she leasts expects them to. That fact that we can identify these personalities through her hair color changing was a nice detail. That being said, I am not the right person to comment about whether the representation of this disorder is accurate.

I think this novel was a good introduction to the series and the characters. I think I’ll keep an eye out for the next part of this series.

A girl, many personalities... but are they really personalities? Or is Elle something more?

When I got the mail from Europe Comics I knew I had to try out this book, the cover certainly made me curious. We see a girl, but with many others who look like her behind her. Thankfully Netgalley had it!

Meet Elle, a girl who is new at a school. She quickly makes friends with a group of people and they have a great time together... but then stress happens and we see how that changes Elle and we also see the cover come to play. Elle keeps changing much to the confusion of her friends, and I could definitely understand that. I mean one moment you have a sweet caring friend, the next a shy one who faints when standing in front of the class, the next you get a rude and mean friend. I could imagine their confusion, their worry. And at first I was worried that they may just leave her. Or abandon her... but no. One of the friendgroup, the one Elle is closed with, decides to help her out. Decide to hunt the truth.

And boy oh boy, the truth... In this one we get glimpses of it. We find out a few things, but not enough to satisfy me so I do hope that the next volume comes out soon because I definitely need to know what is up. What or who is the blue-haired Elle? What is Elle, is maybe the better question. And why are her parents lying? What are they hiding from Elle?

I love that we as the reader (and of course Elle) know when the personalities flip by the change in hair-colour. Of course, we also see the change in the attitude, but I have to say the hair colour change was the most effective for me as it just struck out so much. It was instant. BOOM, colour change. When she is in a meaner mode she is blonde. When shy she has brown hair. When green haired she is rational and protective. There is also the joker who has purple hair. And then there is Elle herself, pink-haired and a sweet and normal girl. I really loved seeing the switches/changes happen. She could go from one to another in just mere seconds.

Through the story we see there is another girl hiding in Elle, one that cannot be released just yet, and I am very worried what she is. She has blue hair and glows. I wonder what Elle she is and how dangerous and powerful she is. Going by the hints we get... I say we shouldn't let her out.

The art is just the best. I just love the style, the colours, and the character designs.

I would highly recommend this book to all. This one will suck you into the story. Fantastic characters. Tons of mystery. And wonderful art.

This graphic novel has stunning illustrations, though they appear a bit static. I loved the friendship aspects of the story. It's also fast-paced and very engaging. The story itself leads up to a bigger mystery, but ends on a cliffhanger and doesn't reveal any part of it to the readers.
But I have to bump it down one star, because, with my limited knowledge, I don't think 'Elle(s)' is a good representation of dissociative identity disorder (e.g. having one evil personality, that tries to overrule all the others). Though it seems to be of fantastical origin, it stands on its own in this volume and is used as a plot device.

An incredible story about Elle, a teen with Bipolar disorder navigating life and a new school. Each of Elle’s different personalities have different colour hair, so the story was easy to follow. This depiction of the disorder was very powerful and I learnt a lot. It was very interesting to see inside Elle’s head for this short graphic novel (I finished it in about a half-hour sitting), and left on a cliffhanger that I can’t wait to find out about in the next volume.
One downfall I felt was that this graphic novel volume was a bit too short, and the other characters weren’t fleshed out well because of this.
But the stunning artwork, colouring and story were perfect. I’m not an own voices reviewer for Bipolar disorder so I would definitely be interested in reading reviews from readers who have actually experienced this.

I really liked the way this book tackled the topic of multiple personality disorder. The art style in this graphic novel was stunning it also helped the reader differentiate between all of the different personalities that Elle has throughout this book. There is also a subplot that is a mystery surrounding Elle's family. I can not wait to read the next volume from this series. I am super excited!!!

Elle(s) by Kid Toussain & Aveline Stokart was a very beautiful and interesting graphic novel about a high school girl with multiple personalities. It had some mystery, some family and friendship drama, and fantastic art to boot. This was only the first volume, so I'm very interested to check out further volumes in the story!

I am hooked! Elle(s) is a beautifully drawn comic. I've followed Aveline Stockart for a while so I knew I needed to read this when it was finally available and it didn't disappoint. If anything Elle(s) was much more than I expected. Sweet and sinister at the same time, mysterious and intriguing and like I said, beautifully drawn. I am so invested in this story, and what a way to end it!

Okay, I loved this graphic novel.

This novel follows Elle and all of her distinctive personalities. Her personalities are defined by her hair colour (that only the reader can see). I won’t go much in to the plot of Elles as I want to keep this review spoiler-free, but man this was a good read.

I was hooked immediately. The artwork is beautiful. The characters are drawn so wonderfully, with beautiful colour palettes and a lovely technique and style. The characters are diverse and fun, and I loved watching the different relationships with Elle’s friends are her multiple personalities.

The story was really fresh and unique, and I was drawn in to the mystery of it straight away. I stormed through this graphic novel in no time and then flipped back through to re-appreciate some of my favourite pieces of artwork within.

Elle is a main character I have never come across before. She is totally unique and unlike any other I have read and that was an amazing thrill. It was so great to take in something so wholly different from anything I’ve read before.

I got to the end of Elles way too soon, and my jaw hit the floor at the cliffhanger ending! This is the type of graphic novel series that I know I could comfortably sit and read a compendium of with no problem. Coming to this conclusion after only reading the debut volume makes me VERY excited for what is to come.

I simply can’t wait to see what happens next with Elle. I will defiantly be purchasing a hard copy of this graphic novel when it hits the shelves because I can’t wait to see what this work looks like on paper.

Massive props to Kid Toussaint and Aveline Stockart for creating something so imaginative, creative, and full of fantasy possibility. Defiantly one of the best things I have read so far this year without a doubt.

5/5💫: WOW! This graphic novel was absolutely amazing. My only issue with it was that it was too short and I wanted more. But the imagery was beautiful and the hair change allegory was done seamlessly. I thought the author did a wonderful job of dealing with a heavy topic of mental health issues and contrasting it with middle grade language so that it could be easily understood. I also loved the friendships Elle made. If I had one gripe, since it's the first volume, I would like more of the friends/relationships before her episodes rather than just a montage of images to show time has passed.

I can't believe that it ended with such a juicy cliffhanger, I can't wait to find out more and see what path Elle goes down. I definitely would recommend that everyone go pick this up for a brisk but meaningful read. I'll be sure to look of for the next volume and pick up a physical copy of these beautiful illustrations when it's released.

Elle(s) was a very interesting graphic novel. The artwork was beautiful. I love that the author tackled a mental illness that is not often spoken about. The take on disociative identity disorder was very important. I feel like it is necessary to increase the awareness of mental health disorders, especially for the youth of the world. The treatment of the disorder was incredibly well-done. The idea of changing the hair color for each personality helped it to be easily understood and aided in the comprehension of the story. I wish that the story was longer; I was very invested in the characters and wanted to learn more. I was able to read the entire story in 30 minutes and wanted it to keep going. Overall, I applaud the author on creativity, and I will be sharing this story with everyone I can. I am eager for the sequel already.

I spotted this cover a few times here on Netgalley and well always skipped it, then i heard someone else had read it and how much they enjoyed this. Soooo i had to come and read it myself.

First i am loving the Inside Out theme is has!!! one of my favorite movies.

Secondly, this comic has so much emotion in it i felt it while reading it. Reminded me of kinda what i also go through in my daily life as a teen and well now as an adult. The feelings we have that are hard to control and the ones that want to come out so badly.

I got to the last page and kept scrolling saying " no no no i need more " I will be getting this one for my own collection and i WILL be getting the next.

You need to read this ASAP!!!

I loved this! It was so fun but also a great exploration of the different emotions we go through and how these might affect our behaviour.

The graphics were fantastic, the storyline unique. The only thing I didn't like? I was so into the story and absolutely loving it and then you hit me with a cliffhanger like that? Seriously? I need the next installment now!

The graphic novel is about our main character Elle, her life and about herself. She got transferred to a new school and is a new kid there and many of the students find her quite different and cool. She befriends a group of friends and they instantly click irrespective of how different each one are among themselves. The initial days go by happy making lots of memories with her friends, but as days go by an incident occurs + lots of school pressure on her, Elle starts to change. The change is very drastic and dramatic for her and even for others around her. She suffers from Dissociative identity disorder or Multiple personality disorder which we come to know as the story progresses. Just when we start to get deeper into the story, it ends at a cliffhanger.

Storywise I am definitely in love with it and hooked. I would want to know what happens in the next volumes. It is engaging and Elle's character is portrayed well. I like that she has supportive friends who understand that she is changing and suffering and don't give up on her. Artwork is amazing. The colours and the illustrations are cute. Surely recommend the graphic novel as it is a quick read and showcases a story wonderfully.

Not only does Elle(s) show the many facets of a human being but it also gives us a lesson in friendship.

I though this was a very clever way to teach empathy.

I usually don't read comics that much because I am very picky when it comes to the style of art I like but this one I absolutely adored. The comic is very bright and colorful and cute, which is something I personally just love.
Storywise I am definitely interested in where the story is going from where this first episode left us because it was finally getting interesting.
In the beginning everything happened a bit fast for my liking, Elle befriended a group of friends and there just were a lot characters and I would have loved to get to know them better! But we just get told that all of them are suddenly friends with Elle and I don't know, I just wished we would have seen more of the friendship because it is important for Elle.
But overall I really liked this first installment and would definitely pick up the next!

'Elle (s)' is a beautiful graphic novel that follows Elle and her different personas at a new school, making new friends and learning to trust them. But she finds out something about herself that blocks her.

I LOVED this book. It has amazing friendships and the characters are so loveble, it's a really easy read. Also the illustrations are impeccable!

I can't find this book on goodreads, so maybe the publisher can help? Goodreads is a good way for books to get popular, and this one deserves it. It's also the best place to review a book and people usually buy the books i review.

A really good look to the different personalities of Elle. It's a fast-paced graphic novel with lots of substance.

This graphic novel follows a young girl called Elle who's just switched schools because of something that happened at her old school. Elle has an undiagnosed dissociative identity disorder so it's not always easy for her to talk to her friends, but as we found out, her friends are really supportive and sweet.
I'm still a newbie to the world of graphic novels, so I have only read a few of them, but this is definitely the best so far. The plotline is captivating for someone like me who is interested in psychology and mental health because I think that the representation in this book is pretty accurate.
As an amateur artist, I found the art style absolutely stunning. The characters are original, easily recognizable and most importantly, incredibly adorable. I also admire the idea of Elle's different hair colours with different personalities and the overall brilliant work with colours. The illustrator did a great job.
The only problem I had with this graphic novel is that it's too short and maybe a little bit too fast. I felt like I just got really invested in the story and then it ended. But I am really excited for a sequel because I just need more of Elle and her friends! This is a 5 star read for sure. I recommend this to everyone who enjoys beautiful illustrations and realistic imperfect characters. Perfect for a rainy afternoon.
