This book was nice it was an easy read, it was familiar like an old friend but a bit like Nell's relationship it wasn't WOW. It didn't grab and immerse me in the story.

So, the story goes Nell left her Northern town after her childhood crush broke her heart, she went to Uni passed her law degree and now lives in London working major hours trying to make partner in a law firm. She lives with her boyfriend Gus who is steady, reliable ... boring!

When she has to go home to look after her injured dad she meets up with Art, who has came home from New York after a family bereavement, can they put the past behind them.

The characters are ok and the book is funny in parts.

Thanks to Netgalley and HQ for the ARC.

Thanks to HQ for letting me read Did You Miss Me? by Sophia Money-Coutts. I'm always willing to give a rom-com writer a go, in case they end up being a new fave, but sadly this wasn't the case with Did You Miss Me? Don't get me wrong, it was enjoyable and readable enough, but there were a few eye-rolly moments: a predictably unrealistic boyfriend who gets overly jealous (also, I'm not a big fan of the countryside but I would never insult anyone's hometown to their face, let alone my boyfriend's); the lack of substantive relationship that existed between the main character and her ex-that-got-away; and the skimping on general romantic detail (it's supposed to be a rom-com, people). And it was too long! 3 🌟

Nell appears to have her life all sorted. Her career is on track, she is on her way to make partner. She is in a long term live in relationship with Gus, decisions are made together, her life is ordered and scheduled and going according to plan.
An unexpected turn forces her to return home and spend time with Art, the man who broke her heart and finally get some answers.

A lovely, heartwarming and funny read.

I found this to be an OK, easy, romantic / comedy holiday read about a couple; Nell and Gus who live in Clapham and who both have good jobs. Things are fine; they both trundle along OK in their relationship and then Nell goes home where her childhood crush has just lost his father. Art (the crush) is rich, charming and very married.

What follows is an easy read, I just found it a tad tedious and formulaic. Perhaps I was expecting too much?
It's certainly funny in parts and it's definitely got it's fans. Just OK for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and HQ for the opportunity to preview.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tale of lawyer Nell. & her partner Gus. Beautifully written, enjoyed the insight into the world of the lawyer & the ‘posh’clients with all their foibles. Then along comes a lost love from Nell’s past, leaving you wondering what will happen, from then on I assure you, you will be hooked to found out the outcome

This is the first book that I've read from Sophia Money-Coutts but it certainly won't be my last.
This was a really enjoyable rom com-style book.
I enjoyed the flashbacks and how relatable a lot of it was.
If you're looking for a lighthearted and fun book to read this summer (I would even say a great beach/garden read), I would definitely consider picking this one up.
I can't wait to read more from Sophia Money-Coutts and I've already got a few books from her back catalogue on my to be read list next.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Nell is happy. She has the job, the boyfriend and the flat. Everything that she ever wanted. Or that's what she is telling herself. Her boyfriend is a bit dull, her boss is not that great, but she is working toward becoming a partner at her firm, so she just has to suffer a little bit more.
But when she has to go back to her childhood village, she bumps into her first love Arthur Drummond and things are not as clear.
It was a fun read, warm and witty, and I enjoyed reading it.

Nell is the 30-something lawyer who seemingly has it all; she's about to be made partner, has a life partner with a penchant for terms of endearment and a beautiful flat. However, a funeral and subsequent family incident means that she has to spend a couple of weeks away from corporate London life. Back at home in rural Northumberland she discovers that her first love is also in the area. What follows is a gentle (if somewhat superficial) story as Nell starts to consider what she really wants in life. Whether she actually enjoys working for a misogynistic boss and over friendly clients. If her dull and overly scheduled life with her partner Gus is making her happy, and whether she should let go of her feelings for Art, the one that caused her so much teenage angst.
A delightful daydream of a book that I enjoyed reading sitting in the sun in the garden sipping a cocktail. There are some comedic moments and, whilst it's not a book I would usually pick, I really enjoyed the light-hearted fun and romance contained within its pages.

I would like to thank the publishers and NetGalley for the advance copy in return for an honest review.

I was hooked from beginning to end, thoroughly entertained. Nell is a high powered lawyer, on path to partner. She doesn't realise it but she has been settling in both our work and private life, accepting that this is as good as it gets. When she goes to help her dad cope with a broken leg, she bumps into her first love, whom she has never quite forgotten ....or forgiven. But was that lost passion just first love or indicative of how far from her true self she has wandered?

This was a delicious read that I couldn’t put down. I loved how realistic it was, even the sex scenes, with no sugar coating. The plain simple truth of her daily observations made it even funnier. I also appreciated all the backstories which made the characters sound like people I know. It was humorous and real. Lastly I loved Nell, and that she was an empowered modern woman who still had much to figure out about life.

There were a lot of things to like about this story:
- Nell as a main character was really great and I enjoyed reading from her perspective a lot.
- Art, her teenage crush and the one that got away, was very charming and I was really invested in his and Nell’s story and backstory throughout especially as not knowing what had caused her to be so upset by him for years for most of the book kept me interested! Also I was a lot more invested in him as a potential love interest as I liked him a lot more than I liked Gus.
- The change in pace between her life in London and her life up north.
- Nell being a character who finally decided to take control of her life and admit to herself what she actually wanted and what makes her happy and going for it.
- Family drama!

Lots of funny moments, characters you want to route for and overall I really enjoyed it!

Fabulous and fabulously unexpected. A excellent wander through first idealistic love contrasted with practical ‘working in a law firm and have a good flat’ love. Nell is with Gus and they are happy, they’ve been together for ages and agreed never to get married. When her family life implodes, Nell has to go and sort it out - well there really is no one else to help. That means going to her childhood home and facing friends, lost loves and the idiots that she’d left in her past for a reason.

Sophia Money-Coutts is a great writer; every book is fresh and different from the last. This one wasn't as laugh-out-loud funny as The Wish List, but it was a touching second chance at love romance with a great cast of characters. I think it will really ring true for a lot of people after lockdown as we've realised that city/office life and the rat-race isn't the be-all and end-all.

There was a lot to love here: the main character is charming, as is her old flame, Art. I loved how vividly the law practice was drawn, with horrible lawyers and nasty clients. The Northumberland setting was great, as was the relationship with Gus.

I wanted to care more about what happened with Art, though: I wanted to know what was at stake for them; what they once had and what they lost. Unfortunately that wasn't quite on the page for me, so I found myself not quite as invested as I wanted to be.

An ultimately enjoyable read, though - ideal for summer and holidays!

We all have a place in our head where we store old pains. Each of us walks around every day with mental imprints of past grievances and traumas. The oldest pains are probably locked away in a much smaller container than the more recent pains, but they’re still there. If you want to, you can find an old container and unlock it, take out the pain and examine it, rake over whatever caused that hurt in the first place. But mostly we don’t because we have to get up in the morning, get dressed and go on with our lives. Why would anyone want to keep sticking their finger into a live socket?

Nell returns home for the funeral.of a family friend and bumps in to her first love Art. Years have passed and she has moved on with Gus. Overnight her life spirals, her dad breaks his ankle, her mum runs off with the coffee shop owner and she is representing Prince pervert at home.

A lovely, heartwarming book with a great cast of characters. Thanks to @netgalley for the advance read copy.

Sophia Money- Coutts has done it again. A proper laugh out loud story, twice I was laughing so hard I was struggling to breathe. My husband was in bed next to me and the bed was shaking so much from my laughing. When he asked me what was up I couldn't even speak to tell him, i was laughing too much. So, so funny. And a gorgeously heartwarming ending. Everything you want in a romantic comedy. Brilliant.

This was another hilarious read from Sophia Money-Coutts, and she is definitely an author that I rush to read with each book. She's cemented herself as a writer who captures some hilarious, fun and wonderful characters as well as a witty, sharp way with dialogue.

Overall this book was once again what I was looking for from Sophia, and I loved Nell as a heroine, she was well-rounded and offered multiple layers.

I did find that that pace lacked a little in this novel, and I would have liked to get to Art and Nell's romance a little earlier. It took quite some time to properly introduce him to the story and when he was introduced it all felt a little slow and flat - especially in comparison to Sophia's other novels which have been fun, feisty and pacey. Because of this I can only give four stars rather than my usual five.

But for romance readers, Sophia is certainly one to watch and very much perfect for readers who love Dolly Alderton, Marian Keyes and Sophie Kinsella - though I'd argue Sophia has a witty edge on these.

Lovely book. A really heartwarming book. The plot is lovely and I found this an extremely enjoyable read. A summer story to warm your heart.

The premise of the book is lovely, Nell works in London as a successful lawyer. Her partner Gus of 11 years is rather boring and doesn't believe in marriage.

What you can expect:
- Childhood sweethearts
- The one that got away
- Over the top side characters
- HEA guaranteed

Eventually what lowered the star rating for me was the side characters and infidelity content.
Moreover, the book was difficult to read on the format epub for Kobo.

Thank you for my ARC, this is my honest opinion
