Really cute fun shojo. I loved the set up for this and how in volume one the couple came together.

So far i'm intrigued enough I will be picking up future volumes

This was a simple and sweet read for me. I enjoyed it in an afternoon. It transported me into a slice of the life of these characters, and helped ease my troubles for a few hours. Thank you for allowing me the chance to read this story.

This was a super cute shojo manga! I love when there are library settings in books and especially manga so that was my favorite part of this and the pair is just so wholesome when they are together. I like both the main characters a lot and this story in general! This is definitely a story I will be continuing physically :)

Disclaimer: I received an advance reader copy of this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A little cringe-y and the relationship dynamic is strange, but does feel somewhat different from the norm which is nice. I'm interested in seeing where it goes.

Honestly I loved this manga so much so that I went on to buy this and volume 2 straight after on kindle. It reads so well and the characters are so cute! I fell in love so quickly with their story that I just want to carry on. Shame its on kindle only. I want paperbacks!

This was incredible first volume to the story. When the main character confesses and gets rejected by her crush she is ridiculed on social media. However while she is reacting to the ridicule she is overheard by her classmate who is also the most popular guy in her grade and he comes up with a plan in order to help her feel better. This volume did a really good job of setting up the story and main characters. I am really excited to see where things go from here.

As the title says, this was a very sweet volume and just what I needed. Maaya has just confessed her feelings to her crush and got turned down pretty badly. By some circumstances, she ends up sharing how she feels about the situation with Chigira, our main male lead, but instead of laughing at her, he proposes something to make her forget about her crush.

The premise was nice and quite simple, and their dynamic makes it even more fun. It even sounds logical, but somewhere down the road it stops being so and becomes a bit absurd. However, who cares? It's very cool to see these two different characters get used to each other and realize who they are and what they want. Granted, some of these happen very quickly but it's a manga, so I'm not complaining. I prefer that than to have Maaya constantly complain about her being rejected, which would be super boring.

I found it very strange that no one commented on these two people suddenly spending so much time together, given that Chigira is obviously the most popular guy in their grade, but maybe that will be a conflict later on. Earlier on, Maaya also comes up with a list of things to do with Chigira in order to get over her crush, but everything is a bit stalkerish.

Apart from that, it is a very sweet and pleasing manga. There's fluff and corny stuff, but that's what this is about. I enjoy it so much that I immediatly went searching for the next volume as soon as I finished the first one.

I was looking for a light and fluffy read and this was perfect for that. See Maaya confessed her feelings to her crush and was shot down. The ever popular Chigira overheard her situation and offered her a role to have an unrequited love with him. There was so many sweet moment and it was so cute to watch. It was nice to see how sweet he was with her and you can't help but want to root for the two. But towards the end there was a bit of a moment with a new character so I'm curious to see how that'll turn out. If you are looking for a cute fluffy romance type of book then check this book out.

This was sweet and cute to the point that it can be cringey at times. It has a somewhat absurd premise and it's obvious where it's heading but it can be addicting and the art style is cute too. Though I'm not really a fan of the stalker list and actions despite the characters being aware of it.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy for an honest review.

This was such a cute Manga! It had been forever since I'd read one. With it being Manga I enjoyed the over the top cheesy drama. We follow the story of Maaya, a boy crazy girl just rejected by her crush. Chigira is the most popular boy in school and decides to fake date her. Who konws why, but the book contains the amazing mishaps, cheesy drama, friendship and awkward moments of fake dating. Will definitely be looking forward to the next one.

This was the first ever romance manga I read, courtesy of a recommendation by a friend and I think it's safe to say that Kujira Anan's 'And Yet, You Are So Sweet' was captivating. I have a love-hate relationship with the romance genre and clichés don't really work for me. But, manga changes things for you, especially with the artwork and even more when it's Chigira-Kun we're talking about!

The plot is clear from the very beginning as the sweet Chigira proposes an unrequited love relationship to one heartbroken Maaya. And no doubt, had I been in Maaya's place, I would've simped for Chigira in the same, annoying yet adorable way which she does throughout the manga; even when her love is requited! Though I had expected that their love would eventually blossom, it was still a beautiful moment as the panels become more intimate and we see how the requited love relationship differs from the unrequited one. The second point was important for me because at first, I wasn't sure whether the unrequited thing was being presented well.

For the characters, I wasn't much of a fan of the dynamic between Chigira and Maaya. I felt that it was only Chigira's charm which was driving the book forward. This could be a personal bias because I don't really like it when one person simps for their partner way too much than their partner does for them. Yes, Maaya and Chigira both make efforts to keep the spark alive but I don't think I would've liked their dynamic had this been the usual novel. Maybe this will improve as the story develops.

But anyway, I loved the artwork so much that I would gladly pick up the next volumes now that things are heating up between the two! And I already miss Chigira!

Initially after finding out about this book I was so excited to pick it up! The premise of a, 16-year-old girl confessing to her crush only to be rejected, while being overheard by the popular, quiet guy (who offers her a solution to her heartbreak) - seemed like a lot of fun and drama!
Unfortunately it just fell flat for me. I didn't really understand how the whole "one sided feelings" thing worked especially as it was so clear from the first couple pages that Chigira-kun had a crush on Maaya. I also had a lot of issues with the whole stalking section.
To be honest this was just all over the place and felt quite messy, I think this would have been better if it was a bit slower in pace.

A One-Sided Love, Anyone, Would Sign Up For - Nanoni, Chigira-Kun ga Amasugiru (And Yet, You Are So Sweet) Vol. 1 Manga Review

Keep to Yourself.

Mangaka: Ana, Kujira
Publisher: Kodansha Comics
Genre: Romance, School, Shoujo
Published: April 2021 - Ongoing

After Kisaragi’s romantic confession went down the drain and she was ridiculed by her crush on social media, she expresses her frustration in the library. She was fortunately overheard by the most popular guy in her grade, Chigira. The popular guy decides to comfort her and suggests an odd solution to her heartbreak.

--- Spoilers Ahead ---

Discussion Time

Wow. We didn’t expect Chigira who is such a bro to be the most wonderful person to be with. Although he is quite indifferent toward others, he volunteered to be Kisaragi’s one-sided love interest. The whole point of this suggestion is to help look for someone she genuinely interested in. Or so you thought.
Why You Should Read Nanoni, Chigira-kun ga Amasugiru (And Yet, You Are So Sweet)

1. How Not to Attract Your Crush (?)

Before you comment, we do not condone stalking. Unless your person of interest is into that, that is a whole different story. So after Chigira gave his permission to Kisaragi to have a one-sided relationship with him, Kisaragi makes a long list of things to do which, without a doubt, is stalking material.

Chigira’s indifferent personality makes their relationship interesting, where he goes with the flow and wants her to focus on him all the time. Yes, he did mention that she should not fall in love with him, which contradicts the goals of this relationship. Kisaragi is finding a hard time defining her true feelings during this whole ordeal.

2. Classics

The character designs in this series are a bit generic, but the intention behind this series focuses more on the story and character development between Kisaragi and Chigira. The special moments they shared and the issues they faced together. However, the background designs felt natural and immersive to pull us into their world and appreciate the nature they offered.

3. Direction

Many things are happening between the main characters. It gives the impression that it serves as a foundation of how Kisaragi feels toward Chigira and how fast the story progresses. We can expect in the later volumes where the story doesn’t beat around the bush and get into the actions of the two individuals who carry out such a relationship.

Why You Should Read Nanoni, Chigira-kun ga Amasugiru (And Yet, You Are So Sweet)

1. Common

The artwork of this series is tailored to classic. We highly recommend not to expect much on their looks, and the romantic moments of the manga can be found in much other romance manga out there. But the unique part of this manga is the one-sided love relationship that they agreed upon.

Final Thoughts

Nanoni, Chigira-kun ga Amasugiru (And Yet, You Are So Sweet) is a strange but adorable romance manga because of the interesting and odd relationship the main characters have. The story progression and character developments are the main focus of this series, and not to expect much on the character designs and looks, so you don’t have to worry about the slow pacing type of story. Aside from the one-side relationship, both characters have agreed on, the content can be found in any other romance manga. If you are interested in a one-sided love type of manga, give this one a chance.

This was funny and cute, I'll keep up with the series, I'm hooked now! :)
Shoujo manga is always a quick way to decompress and be able to inmerse yourself on a story without it taking too much out of your time.

I really enjoyed this first volume. It was cute, the art was really nice. Its a perfect little read if you are looking for some shoujo goodness. Kisaragi is a fun character to follow, and shes immediately likeable, and Chiguri is a fan love interest, both aloof and awkward, the perfect mix and I can't wait to see where it goes. I will be picking up the next volume.

This is, as the title implies a VERY sweet manga. The story is simple, with the basic concept being "teenage girls are so dense somtimes!" Maaya has her heart broken when she tells a guy she likes him and he makes fun of her for it on social media. Later, as she is mumbling about it in the library, her student coworker there tells her if she likes, she can get over the other guy by pretending to like him instead. It's CLEARLY a way for him to get closer to her, since he CLEARLY likes HER, but she doesn't get this because even though she is super cute, she thinks she is ugly because in manga ALL cute girls must think they are ugly or ELSE. It's nothing new or groundbreaking, but it is pretty adorable.

And yet, you are so sweet is a very sweet, tender and full of romance manga that I have loved very much.

The story focuses on Maaya and Sui, and because of a love rejection that she suffers, and that leads her not to want to confess her feelings to anyone else, she ends up accepting a deal from him in which he offers himself to be the recipient of those non-reciprocal feelings. In short, a kind of game in which Maaya lives a on-sided love for Sui, at least until she gets over the rejection. What Maaya doesn't take into account is that this game can lead her to truly fall in love with Sui.

Maaya is the typical female leader of a shoujo manga, smiling, falling in love, shy and responsible who does not want to depend on other people when doing things. Sui is a very cute boy and is always sweet with Maaya. Both are responsible for the library of their high school and there is where their relationship begins and grows through the story.

The story has many clichés, but I love most of these stories as long as the main characters respect each other and there is no toxic relationship. Quite the opposite of this story, which is all very soft.

If you like manga with romance and tender situations, I highly recommend it.

I found this manga cute, but a little basic? I feel like it didnt really bring anything new to the table, and the art (while good!) didn't make up for the fact that the storyline seemed very trite

This was almost over the top in how fluffy and dramatic it was, but it made for an enjoyable reading experience.

'And Yet, You Are So Sweet' follows the slightly boy-crazy Maaya after she's rejected by her crush when she confesses her feelings to him. Enter Chigira, the most popular boy in the grade, suggesting that she get over her broken heart by pretending to be in love with him. What results is a series of mishaps, clueless denial, friendship, and perhaps something more.

I found the premise of this manga to be somewhat similar to Kimi Ni Todoke, and decided to give it a try. While the beginning was a bit confusing and the characters themselves aren't very developed, everything that the characters go through is extremely fluffy and adorable. The ending was a little abrupt but definitely left me wanting more.

The art style is soft and romantic, much like the story and the main character herself. I would definitely recommend this if you find the premise interesting or enjoy shoujo school-romances, and am personally looking out for the next volumes.
