Didn’t realise this was a children’s book when I applied for a free copy from Netgallery but had a look through and if you have children it looks like a good book to interest them. Lots of projects to do. Easy to understand and step by step instructions.
Some great ideas which I am looking forward to trying out with my children in the Summer Holidays.. The added bonus is that most of the materials are things we already have.
A definite 5star book aimed at children. My grandchildren would absolutely love this book settling down for at least an hour of craft activities which they request to do and love. I was pleased to see that the crafts cover a range of ages so this book will not be a one year wonder as children are more able to tackle the trickier ideas as they grow older. Also younger ones won't be frustrated with the help of an adult or older sibling. It is a source of inspiration and wonderful to be able to use items that would probably end up in the bin, many being useful in the process. It'll encourage children to think more about recycling and how things can be used and will keep them occupied for hours. Set out in an easy to understand format with plenty of diagrams. This book will be on my 'to buy' list for Christmas this year.
I really wish I had this when my children were younger - but I still got a few ideas from here which I will use. But really it is a must have for a summer at home or winter at home to keep young children entertained.
I was given an advance copy by netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely my own.
Some great ideas for children’s art projects! Lots of clear photos, descriptions and suggestions. There are tips for using tools too. It would be a great book to have in the classroom or at home for a crafty kid!
A great book with super ideas. These are things we should be thinking about - not being a throw away culture. Love it!
What can I say! This book would literally provide hours of fun, we only did 2 of the activities in there and my daughter was having a great time she loves to be creative, I love that although there were instructions to follow on so many of the crafts they were opportunities to out your own unique personality into it too
This is a fantastic book! Huge range of ideas - all using recycled goods. Great message for children to find new life for things we would otherwise throw away. Some of the suggestions look like they would need close supervision but might be fun to try!
My daughter works love this - aged 14 and I definitely need multiple copies for inspiration when we next run Young Enterprise with our Year 6s at work.
A must have for any little crafters and those working in schools - great for clubs and cross-curricular lessons. I can see endless ways to use this book.
This book is full of ideas ! Whether you are a grown-up in charge of kids or a teacher ! It gives great art and craft to do, and with a diverse range of use.
The big plus in my opinion is the use of materials that we all have at home and that we throw away without even thinking of the second life this can have for kids !
Great ideas in general ! The only con is that a lot of those activities are for kids that are relatively older and it requires also help from grown-ups to execute some parts of the activities. There are in my opinion for some of them not meant to be done in autonomy of the kid.
Thank you to Collins Kids and Netgalley for the discovery in exchange of an honest review.
Wow this is brilliant! I love all the different craft activities in this fab
Book. It's full of really good crafts, some I hadn't seen before. I can't wait to show this book to my children as I'm sure they would want to do all of the activities. I really like that real photos are used during the simple to follow step by step guides to each craft. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book, its fabulous.
This is a brilliant addition to any classroom or home. There are so many wonderful ideas to keep you from throwing away plastic. A particular favourite of mine is the milk top toothbrush holder! Each page is easy to follow so children are able to carry out the activity independently or with minimal help (depending on the activity). I only wish this book was longer! Will definitely be doing some of these ideas with my pupils
