This is such a beautifully designed book, it really stands out from a lot of nature books on the market! The text is bound to inspire young readers to get outdoors and engage with nature!

This book is glorious and should be on every child's shelf. It is a mix of the most stunning illustrations accompanied by a mix of fact, craft activities, and literary prose.

McAnulty encourages children to explore their surroundings and leads them on a journey of exploration and discovery promising 'a fascinating world awaits.'

It starts as simply as looking through the window and enjoying what is right outside your door and then encourages the reader to travel beyond and enjoy woods, rivers and ponds.

I cannot praise the book enough. The illustrations are breath-taking but the facts and activities are perfectly itched to entice the most reluctant 'wild child' to try something new.

Don't wait! Buy this book as soon as you can. Every child will love it.

I really liked this mix of poetical narrative, information and activity ideas. It's set out in a progression of developing curiosity, from gazing at nature from your window, to exploring your garden, then gradually heading further afield. I thought this worked particularly well and the illustrations that go with it are beautiful. The information here is presented in a very accessible way and the activities are set out clearly. Certainly a book that will work perfectly with the 2021 Summer Reading Challenge and should prove popular generally.

I had an ARC copy of this in a PDF thanks to Pan Macmillan & Netgalley. I adore Dara's 'Diary of a Young Naturalist' and was really excited to see that he had a book on the way aimed at young naturalists. The combination of Dara's words and Barry Falls' illustration is wonderful - I can't wait to see the physical copy to see both come alive on the pages. A lovely narrative, with things to learn and things to do. I think this will be a great gifting book!
