I thought this was such a helpful companion following on the excellent Secret Barrister. While it provided useful context on the legal trade and institution, the book was incredibly helpful in debunking widely-held beliefs about the legal system in a way which was easy to comprehend.

Although my legal knowledge leaves a lot to be desired, this was a fascinating book
which I'd recommend to anyone with an interest in governance and legal developments.

I m going off to buy this book in print format as I found the footnotes impossible to manage on digital and I think so crucial to books like these. A big fan of the author, I know I’ll enjoy, but digital not the right format.
