I enjoyed this book. I found myself identifying with Liv, and enjoyed getting to experience the escapes she got up to. Would recommend as some good beach reading.

Liv has been in a holding pattern for too long with her successful career, always traveling best friend, and never letting her boyfriends, therapist, or parents get too close to her. She decides to leave it all and take a year long trip to a small town in Spain to break this cycle. While there she eats delicious foods, makes a group of friends, and meets the captivating Sebastian who seems intent on breaking through her walls.
I liked the concept and chemistry between Liv and Sebastian, but I just could not connect with this story. Although it was a journey of self discovery for Liv, I felt she knew her flaws and barriers, as did everyone else fairly soon after meeting her. I thought her friends could have been interesting, but they had a problematic conversation throughout the book about “beta” men which was dated (even for 2015) and, in my opinion, harmful. I think this just was not the group of characters for me, but it really might work for some!

Loved the cover and seeing this in any bookstore it would definitely grab my attention and make me pick it up. Great friendships, luscious food, and a swoon-worthy, passionate romance, Leaving Me Behind is a story of finding yourself and living life to the fullest. Drift away for a few hours and absorb yourself in this delicious treat of a book.

I really enjoyed this book! I’m new to the romance genre and I really loved that there was so much emotional depth to this book—not just the firey stuff if you know what I mean.
Liv, a successful businesswoman, up and leaves her life to do some soul searching in Barcelona. She meets an intriguing man and the story is off and running. Will she give up everything back home to stay with this man?
Quick read, steamy, well written. Perfect for summer. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!!

This is a great beach read! How many of us dream about starting over in a beautiful country, and this book takes you through that. I love how the author has a way writing that makes you visuals each and every word. I would recommend this book to anyone and I can't wait to see what other books Sigal has.

Thanks to Netgalley for the digital ARC for my honest review!
It's my first time reading a novel from Sigal Ehrlich. Honestly, I enjoyed it! I pretty much devoured it in one setting!
The premise is very interesting. I mean, aren't we all, at the bottom of our hearts, want a fresh start/getaway in an exotic European coastal town? And try new things, especially the things the old self won't be doing?
Mostly for me, that's why I enjoyed this book. The book offered me a getaway! The whole vibe is fun and relaxing. A perfect beach read! There are great friends and great "one night stands". The heroine's thinking processes and choices are very relatable. It's not over dramatic and HEA guaranteed.
I would totally recommend it to my friends for the summer to come!
One thing I think could be better are the sexy scenes. Probably because I've read too many romance books. The writing of their time together kinda falls flat for me. Like they're pretty much the same type and similar choices of words as many other romance books. So while I was reading these scenes, I feel like" okay, they are doing it, they're hot, I get it." instead of " Wow, they have really great chemistry and connections there!"
Anyways, love the book in general and would love to read more books by Sigal Ehrlich!

Unfortunately there was something off that made it a struggle for me to finish reading Leaving Me Behind.
I was highly intrigued because I love a story set in a foreign country that will help to immerse the reader in that location. However, I don’t feel this book did that.
I didn’t love the characters nor did I dislike them and some of the sex scenes made me a little uncomfortable. I’m a person who enjoys steam in a book but something about the interactions between Liv and Sebastian just seemed off putting.
Overall, I just wasn’t captivated by this story like I had hoped and wish I could have felt more of a connection to the characters.

thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the free copy in exchange for an honest review! all thoughts and opinions are my own.
i really enjoyed reading this book! i liked reading about the main character, liv, and watching her slowly get used to the spanish town as well as her lover. she really goes through a lot of character development throughout the novel, and i loved seeing her figure out her life goals and realize what she wants to do.
despite his hopes to go official, liv is always hesitant and dismisses his offers to accompany him to dinners. they are both crazy about each other, but liv is scared and sebastian won't back down. they spend secret nights with each other, and pretend that they don't know each other during the day. liv feels terrible from keeping the secret from her friends at the coffee shop, but they continue. her group of friends are great, because they are all unique but all supportive of liv no matter what.
sebastian is a fantastic male protagonist, and when they first meet, liv is convinced that all their relationship will be is a great one night stand. but sebastian defies her expectations and shows up at her doorstep, ready to continue their relationship. he's kind, patient, good-looking, and very supportive of everything liv does.
also, i didn't like the conflict with lola and kai. i think that it was hypocritical of both of them to have another person in their lives. i think that the situation that happened between liv and kai was executed oddly and awkward. it felt like the only reason that it was included was just to create conflict.
overall, this was a good contemporary romance novel! it was a casual read that i really enjoyed reading, and i would recommend.

At first, I would like to thank Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for allowing me to review this book. Keep in mind that my review, however, is my true opinion on this book.
This is a fun, loving, and exciting book. I really enjoyed reading this.
I love Liv as a character and especially her charisma. She is a hardcore businesswoman, but has her soft moments and sides as well, which is very suitable for her.
I have to say, however, that the first few chapters did not really catch my attention. So what I am saying to you is: Be patient! You have to give this book time, and I am sure it will live up to your expectations when you get a few chapters into the book.
Here, we have a story about dreams and a story about hope. "Leaving me behind" is furthermore about love and finding love in the most random and unexpected places.

WoW this was a good book! Not gonna lie I was a little iffy! But it turned out to be great!
This book will suck you in... Its very unique and fun. Something different from what I usually read!

I really enjoyed the plot and characters and their journey. I liked where the author took these two and the way they got to their happy ending was a wonderful thing to read. I hope to read more by this author very soon.
