I enjoyed this warm and relatable book.
In the present day, group of women, United by their desire to have a family, attend a support group and become firm friends. Each is struggling and they lean on each other and help in a way that feels very realistic and kind.
In our second timeline we have Catherine, unexpectedly pregnant and sent to a mother and baby home.
I enjoyed both timelines immensely and was always keen to keep reading to see what happened next! The women were so well written and I really enjoyed their friendships. It was sad as it progressed, but I expected it as I’ve read this authors previous works.
It’s a well written, well paced book with an interesting and engaging storyline. I very much enjoyed it! Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for my copy of this book.
What a wonderful book! This books deals with the topic of infertility, adoption and mother and baby homes in Ireland. Although these are difficult topics the book explores them in a sensitive and sympathetic way. A story with heart that I loved!
Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. I enjoyed this book, had nice characters and a nice storyline. Not my normal type of read but this was okay.
Waiting For The Miracle is a fantastic book. I thoroughly enjoyed very page of it.
Anna writes sensitively on the plight of young mothers in Ireland who were subjected to horrendous abuse within religious institutions that should have been there to help them. Running alongside this was another unfolding story of a gathering of women who attended a group (Don't want to give any spoilers).
The 2 stories complimented each other in a way that left the reader looking for more.
A wonderful book with a fantastic storyline written from the heart.
Highly recommended.

The dual timeline worked so well, and Catherine was the absolute star of the book highlighting Ireland past, in regards to unwed mothers.
