The Holiday Swap is a must read for Christmas. When Charlie has an accident off camera she swaps places with her twin sister for a week before Christmas. But each discover that life isn't as easy as they think and when you add 2 cute guys to the mix anything can happen.

Uplifting, exciting and a book you just won't put down. The story is well placed and has its fair share of comedy, and drama. This is a book you'll want to read every Christmas.

A classic twin swap story with plenty of twists.

This is a lovely tale of two twin sisters – Charlie and Cass – who swap lives when Charlie gets concussion and loses her sense of taste and smell, which would be devastating to her career as a TV chef. She enlists her sister, Cass’ help to finish her current project, in the hope it will lead to another job she is aiming for. There are some ups and downs along the way, and both sisters learn a lot about themselves and each other.

The ‘worst’ part of the book is all the descriptions of the various food, and its not that it’s bad, it just kept making me hungry!

An enjoyable read, and not just for the holiday season.

Delightfully entertaining and thoroughly addictive, this festive contemporary romance follows a pair of Identical Twins with a plan to switch places just before Christmas.

When accomplished chef,Charlie Goodwin suffers a concussion while on the L.A set of her popular reality baking show, she looses more than just consciousness; she also looses the ability to taste and smell—both essential when your the show’s Judge. Meanwhile Cass (Charlie’s twin) is trying to deal with the mess of her own life, running the families’ bakery in the busiest season of the year, while also dealing with her clingy ex (who refuses to take no for an answer.)

With only days before Christmas a desperate Charlie asks Cass to switch places—with a chance to take a break from small town life, Cass agrees. But temporarily trading lives isn’t as easy as they thought, especially when firefighter Jake and Physician Assistant Miguel are thrown into the mix...

I absolutely loved this, with it’s Parent Trap meets The Princess Switch premise, witty quips and not one, but TWO festive romances to melt even the coldest of hearts, a must read for sure.

I really loved Charlie and Cass who were well written and endearingly relatable (in fact, many of the characters were.) The pacing was great and the romance with Jake and Miguel was ~chefs kiss- Perfection!

The only two characters I didn’t particularly like were Brett (Cass’ clingy ex) and Austin (Charlie’s awful co-host), both of whom I found annoying and overbearing (though still excellently written.)

It’s the perfect winter romance to curl up with this Christmas, that ending was definitely worthy of a Hallmark movie. I urge everyone who loves Rom-coms and hallmark/Netflix Christmas movies to give this a read this December—it’s just soo good.

And also a huge thank you to Hodder&Stoughton and NetGalley for the ARC.

‘The Holiday Swap’ is an easy and uplifting read set around the festive season. While reading it June has been a bit weird experience (especially with the recent heatwave!), it made me miss snow and mountains a little, with Cass and Charlie’s hometown having gorgeous scenery and an amazing small-town atmosphere.

I needed something cheerful and uplifting this week, and ‘The Holiday Swap’ has delivered on this front. I’m always fan of stories involving twins – having younger siblings who are twins – so it was a nice story to read about sisters swapping places, and learning more about each other’s lives and also themselves as a result. While the banter in the story was a little hit and miss, and I didn’t feel like all the characters were fully developed, I enjoyed ‘The Holiday Swap’. It was a nice, short read that will be perfect for the Christmas period.

Even though I was reading this festive book in the middle of June, I could not resist reading this next.
It immediately reminded me of a grown up version of The Parent Trap, given that Cass and Charlie are both in their late twenties but are attempting to switch lives. Or in another way, The Holiday.
I did like the two settings. It was really interesting seeing what goes on behind the scenes of a big baking competition show, as I am a fan of the likes of Nailed It! But I also loved the home-y/cosy feeling of Starlight Peak and seeing the ins and outs of running a bakery and baking all the wonderful confections.
It also had good pacing and I liked how we inched closer to Christmas Day with each chapter.
It was just a little bit too predictable, however and everything was wrapped up way too neatly at the end for me, which didn't feel particularly realistic.
There were also a lot of convenient things happening to keep the plot going, which were a little frustrating to read.
And it was rather chaste. I understand that both relationships with Jake and Miguel respectively, are meant to take place over the course of a week. But there's zero longing or anything more than a kiss, which meant I wasn't as invested in either relationship as I could have been.
But I did enjoy the read and got through it quickly.
I have a feeling that if you enjoy Robyn Carr's Virgin River books, especially the Christmas ones, you will really enjoy this.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was great fun to read. A series of adventures and misadventures regarding a set of identical twins. Some quirky characters. The inevitable twists and turns to a happy ending - or 2 happy endings in this case.

Loved this book so much even though it is still summer and not winter. It was super sweet and made me jolly. This slightly reminded me of the holiday movie which was another bonus. The characters were very relatable and the romance was lovely.

The holiday swap is a great easy read that you can't put down and is despite the title (I feel) could be ready any time of year as Christmas is only really mentioned at the very end of the novel.

The two protagonists are Cass and Charlie twins, who lead very different lives. Charlie is a judge on a TV cooking program and Cass has stayed in their home town to work in the family bakery. It's the classic identical twin switch-er-roo story, after Charlie falls and suffers a concussion which leaves her with no sence of taste or smell. Meaning she will no longer be able to judge, so they are left with no other choice that to swap places in the run up till Christmas.

Both twin inevitable fall in love with someone in their new lives, and comedy ensues. The story is fast paced with each chapter being told by a different twin.
The information you find out about the author is incredible! Happy reading!

A lovely book to curl up with an imagine both the snow and sun of a Californian Xmas. A great tale where you were rooting for the twins to get their happy ever after whatever that might look like. And sometimes you need to take a step away from your normal life to work out what is important.

Sisters make the best of friends and have the best time and this is exactly what happens between Cass and Charlie. Loved the idea of them swap living in another reality, but heading back to true life is it all it seems.

It’s been ages since I last read a Christmas book and I actually love reading them out of season.

Cass and Charlie are twin sisters but live very different lives, When one has an accident that could jeopardise her job, they doing something they used to do as children... swap! I love the idea of a twin swap and I’d never read anything like this before.

Cass and Charlie are very different in personality and how they live their lives and I really enjoyed seeing each of them do something different. There was a good contrast as well between each of their lives as one lives in a small town working in a bakery while the other is the host of a TV show.

There are loads of fun moments throughout the book, some drama and of course, it wouldn’t be a Christmas book without some romance too. A little too predictable in places but still enjoyable overall.

Twin sisters Charlie and Cass are both highly skilled pastry chefs living two very different lives: Cass at home in the mountains, running her family's bakery and struggling to end her long-term relationship that she's grown out of - and Charlie, living in LA and the co-star of a reality tv baking show, striving to be chosen to host the network's new show above her annoying co-host and failing to find any time for a life outside of her career.

It's time for something to change - for both of them - and here is where it all begins! Charlie has a knock to the head on set, and suddenly loses her sense of taste and smell. How is she going to ace her performance on the show and ensure she gets the new job? Only a twin sister can help out!

So Cass and Charlie switch places for just a few weeks, leading up to Christmas - just until the show has wrapped. What could go wrong?

Well...everything! But somehow it is all for the best. Cue the lovely Miguel and the charming Jake - and the little bit of insight that comes with someone else's perspective, to show the sisters just what they need to start the next chapters of their lives.

The Holiday Swap is everything you could want in a book to enjoy in the lead up to Christmas. I completely fell in love with the twins' home town of Starlight Peak - the vivid descriptions of the homely, festive atmosphere made me think of Star's Hollow in the Gilmore Girls and I just wanted to be curled up under a blanket with a mug of mulled wine! Definitely one to read in December with the christmas tree lights on!

A great, feel-good story that is sure to be a hit. It was lovely to notice at the end that the author Maggie Knox is in fact two authors! Looking back, I found this very impressive - it's hard to imagine that it wasn't written by one person and I'd be intrigued to know how they did it so seamlessly! Did they each write one character? Anyway, I would love to read more of their books in future!

This was an engaging and endearing read. Cass and Charlie are twin sisters whose lives have taken different paths, although their love of baking is a common thread. Cass helps run the family bakery back home and Charilie's culinary degree has taken her from restaurant pastry chef to reality food TV.

An unexpected incident turns Charlie's world upside down and she turns to Cass for help. The twins switch for a week and find that perhaps the life the other leads is far more tempting than they expected.

This is a holiday read, a romance, a fake identity story all rolled into one lovely package. I was drawn in and the characterizations and situations were well handled. The love interests were endearing and the secondary characters had charm. There is good fleshing out of the back story and the secondary characters. The situations, although obviously time compressed for the narrative of the story, feel realistic and relatable.

I liked both main characters and enjoyed this book immensely. A good read any time of the year.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Charlie and her twin sister Cass decide to switch places during the holiday season. I could not put this book down.

If I had to sum up this book I would say, it's "The Holiday" meets "The Parent Trap" - basically, it's a Hallmark movie waiting to happen!

"The Holiday Swap" is a feel-good, holiday-themed romantic comedy about identical twins who switch lives in the 12 days leading up to Christmas... and find love in the process!

Charlie and Cass are identical twins and they even have the same passion and skills for baking, but their lives are pretty different. While Cass runs the family's bakery in their small town, Charlie runs her own reality baking show in Los Angeles. But after an accident that temporarily leaves her without her sense of smell and taste. Charlie asks her twin to take her place for a while, while she takes care of their bakery at home. But temporarily trading lives proves more complicated than they imagined, especially when rugged firefighter Jake Greenman and gorgeous physician's assistant Miguel Rodriguez are thrown into the mix.

I LOVED the pacing of the book, and how the twins find their true selves and also find appreciation for one another thanks to their switch. I read the book in one day, I just couldn’t put it down! All in all, this was a quick, fun, lighthearted read, and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝐻𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑑𝑎𝑦 𝑆𝑤𝑎𝑝 by 𝑀𝑎𝑔𝑔𝑖𝑒 𝐾𝑛𝑜𝑥 is a very adorable rom com story perfect for Christmas🥰 Unfortunately, I read this in May as it was gifted for an advanced review😂 But still, I absolutely loved this book!

Thank you @netgalley and @HodderBooks and @HodderPublicity for giving me the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Charlie is a reality baking tv show host in LA, but one day she has a concussion on set and she loses her ability to taste. So she decides to call her identical twin sister, Cass, who remains in the small town they grew up in and runs the family-owned bakery, and they agree to swap their lives just for one week until Christmas when Charlie’s show wraps up...

This book is like pure rom com. It was completely predictable and I knew where it was going. But it’s just so adorable I couldn’t stop reading! I love the characters, even side characters. It’s just such an all-around sweet story. There is a hot firefighter as love interest if this information helps😂

I know it’s too soon to talk about Christmas, but I totally recommend this if you...

👉love reading about baking, cooking, anything about food
👉want a sweet Christmas rom com read
👉enjoy all-around happy endings
👉are looking for a cosy read

This is such a good story, I can't recommend it highly enough! I loved seeing the evolution of each woman throughout the story, and the town seems so lovely it felt like reading about a place from a hallmark movie. It's a lovely read for cosying up on the sofa with a warm fire and some comfort food on a winter's night, as it's definitely a book to give you a warm fuzzy feeling
