The idea of the story is amazing, I was intrigued by the synopsis from the first sentence. The story is divided in several chapters, which tell the story of Thora and Santi, who have to meet in different lives and different status/age/relation ties etc. Such book architecture give the impression of short story collection. Although the narrator's voice and intonations are great, I got bored with the book at like 65-70% in and really wanted it to end faster, that is why I would give it 3.5 and 3 stars in total.

Thora and Santi’s lives are inexplicably entwined. They meet, life after life, time after time. Each life brings a new role to each of them as they slowly try to work out what’s happening to them that brings them back each time.

This story was amazing and so unpredictable it kept me thoroughly hooked. The end of the first chapter had me walking to work with my jaw hitting the floor and I didn’t want to stop listening!

Somehow, this book gave me existential anxiety AND joy at the same time. Funny, fast paced and very moving. A lovely story about the connections we make in life and how they shape who we are and who we become.

This book faintly reminds me of the Midnight Library by Matt Haig, but is SO much better. The story is truly unique, surreal and unforgettable: A story with elements of parallel universes, space and time travel; plus multiple lifetimes which all differ, despite each lifetime having the same characters interacting in different ways. These blended concepts make a truly fascinating and riveting story - one where the ending is surprising. I absolutely could not stop listening. It is hard to believe that this is a debut novel - and one which would make a great movie. I can't wait to see what this Author's next novel will deliver.

This book was an amazing and mind-bending journey! Not at all what I expected, in the best way possible.
The story begins with Thora and Santi meeting in Cologne in many different lives and they play different roles in each one - as friends, lovers, siblings, parent/child and many more. They start to wonder why they are drawn to each other and why certain things keep recurring in each of their lives. Up until this point I would have rated this story as an interesting 4 star read.. but once they start to figure out what is happening the story just explodes! I would like to read or listen to it again because it is the kind of story that really makes you think about things differently. Netgalley's description of the book was "Joyful, devastating, and profound" and this is entirely accurate!

Catriona Silvey has a beautiful, soft writing style which gives us room to absorb the emotion and weight of the story, and Kristin Atherton's narration of the audiobook was fantastic: her accent alone would have me on board, but her narration was also emotional, gripping and thought provoking.

Wow. When I started this I wasn’t too sure what to expect. Santi and Thora live life after life with each other; siblings, lovers, father and daughter, friends.

The first third of the book felt like lots of novellas and I wondered where it was going. As time went on though, and Santi and Thora became more and more aware the story was beautiful.

I really hope that someone makes a film out of this because it would be amazing. I see why it says it will appeal to fans of Audrey Niffenegger.

Despite the beautiful narration and original idea, I couldn't get into this book. I tried to read it both in ebook and audio formats but it just wouldn't click in my head. I still love the idea and I wish the author all the success with their publication. This is very much a case of "it's not the book, it's me".
