I haven't had much success with this author's format of 'many people over one whole day' stories - always found them hard to follow, like being dropped into an ongoing drama during season 2-3-4 without any cliff notes. But this one was a happy surprise, in that I didn't feel lost despite the many people and storylines. There was something utterly readable about those storylines, and I wanted to see how it would all wrap up at the end (and that, too, was a pleasurable surprise, though I would've wanted to see more from after that one day). But still, found this one to be a delightful read even though I screamed a few times at Fate intervening throughout, but it was well worth the read. I was on the fence about this author, to be honest, but this one has converted me to give her more chances in the future.

This is a really lovely women's fiction book, which I found interesting since it takes place over one day. We are shown the lives of four people who are all connected somehow. As we read about each of the characters, we become close to them, and we get invested in their lives and stories. The four people that we meet are Maisie, a 25 year old singer from Glasgow, Scott, who is 38 years old, Kelly, the 38 year old wife of Scott, and Harriet, who is 80 years old. This is a great summer read, with beautiful writing, and it kept me entertained and engrossed for hours. Highly recommended!

I read this book whilst on holiday in Cyprus and it's just the right sort of book for those warm summer beach days. All the characters had their own quirks and foibles and I loved them all. I haven't read a Shari Low book before but I will definitely be reading more.

Shari Low writes brilliant stories about love, loss, families and friendships and in One Summer Sunrise, she deftly explores the complexities of relationships, the struggles of continuing to put one foot in front of the other when wracked by grief and finding the courage to make your voice heard sure to strike a chord with readers and have them laughing and crying.

Shari Low has a superb gift for creating well-drawn characters readers will find themselves drawn to, empathizing with and sometimes angry and frustrated with as well and that is certainly the case in One Summer Sunrise.

You can never go wrong with a Shari Low novel and in One Summer Sunrise she has written one of the must-read books of the season.

I've previously enjoyed Shari Low novels so was very pleased to be given an advanced copy of One Summer Sunrise to read and review. I really enjoyed this story and got straight into the plot from the first page. I was pleased to recognise some characters from One Day in Summer. I was expecting a light hearted read and was pleased to find a deeper story covering issues such as IVF and leaving home.

One of my favorite authors, her books produce such joy in me to read. This too unfurled over 24 hours with characters seen in the earlier book. The book evoked so many emotions as I connected deeply to the characters. I loved how the author's resonated with my own belief of Carpe Diem of living life to the fullest in the now. Relationships were beautifully etched. A wonderful read, indeed

I personally found the book slow moving, but the premise was interesting. The drama unfolding kept you busy at not wondering what was going to happen, but how it was going to unfold. Most of it was pretty much a given by the first part of the second chapter and you figured by the middle of the book the ending. . I never read this author before that I can remember, but it was definitely not one I would go seeking.

This is a feel good story that covers a 24 hour period in the lives of 4 people. Maisie is going to look for an ex that left her at the alter, Harriett will find a reason to live, Scott is going to tell his wife he's leaving and Kelly is going to tell Scott they are expecting a baby. All four story lines are excellent reads. This theme of a short time span with multiple characters is Ms. Low's style and there are several characters from her previous books in this one. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Absolutely loved this book. Being Scottish I love this authors humour & references to places I know. Amazing characters as always & never know where the books going to go it’s addictive. Would highly recommend this book to anyone.

I always enjoy Shari Low’s books and this one is no exception. She can make me laugh and cry within the same chapter and her characters are always people you either think you know or would love to meet! I saved #onesummersunrise for a day when I had no other plans as I know I would want to read it in one sitting and that is exactly what I did.

I love all of Shari Low's writing and this one was no exception. Looking at the different experience of love and all its intricacies across people of different ages, this one pulled at the heartstrings. The tale of different members of the same family told across the same time frame, this story is both emotional and uplifting.

The newest installment in Shari Low's "One Day" series follows a group of characters (almost all of them are "new", only very few already made an appearance in the former books) over the course of a day. For most of them it is a very special day. The day their grown-up kid is leaving the nest. The day they might meet long-lost relatives. The day they want to finally leave their spouse. The day they discover they are pregnant. The day they have to face hurtful moments from their past.

I was honestly interested in all the different stories, there was nobody that didn't interest me. I really like the way Shari Low shapes her characters and gives them a voice. Just sometimes she could be a bit less repetitive when it comes to the inner monologues of her characters.

But that is really the only thing I have to criticize. The rest was truly enjoyable to read during "one summer sunrise" (or maybe a bit later in the day, too).

This book is another perfect summer read from Shari Low as we get to meet a group of people who are at pivotal moments in their lives.

Over the course of one day there is plenty of shocks and surprises that hopefully lead to the answers the characters are looking for as their fates beautifully weave together between the pages.

I was particularly drawn to Maisie’s story, she is a 25 year old who has recently been jilted by Nathan on their wedding day. Despite her heartbreak Maisie helps brings such warmth and humour to the story especially during her interactions with Sissy, her pregnant best friend.

Harriet is also a wonderful character that brings some difficult, intense and tear jerking moments to the book. She is a widow with a backstory that is touched with tragedy, loss and regret that takes you on an extremely emotional filled journey.

Shari Low's novels are impeccably written - with larger-than-life characters and words that keep you turning the pages until late in the night.
Her books always leave you feeling satisfied and her new book - One Summer Sunrise does not disappoint.

Harriett Bassett is an elderly lady living on her own after her husband has passed away. A stay in hospital changes the course of her life and she crosses paths with Maisie McTeer and Scott and Kelly Bassett.
Scott and Kelly's daughter is preparing to leave home and today is the day that Scott will tell Kelly that he wants a separation, however, fate has a funny way of dealing with people's plans.
Maisie McTeer is covering an event where all of our characters meet (her best friend is in labour) and the event is set in the place where she was due to get married.


Well written, a perfect book to lose yourself in its pages.
