I had absolutely no idea this was the second book in a series when I started it.
I felt this book chould have been shorter, it felt like it dragged on but overall a fairly enjoyable read.
Loved the diversity in this book. All of the characters were relatable and alluring. The plot was fun but nothing groundbreaking. Love the cover tho
i really enjoyed reading this book, it was a interesting world and I enjoyed getting to know the people. It was a little long but I enjoyed going through this story.
Was a fun read but I anticipated more from the world-building. Some parts tend to be monotonous but still an enjoyable read,
I tried to get into this book and couldn’t but I would recommend for others to try it as just cause it’s not for me doesn’t mean it isn’t for others. Did not finish
Definitely a cover-request that fell flat for me. I didn't realize when I requested that it was book two, but I do believe you can read this one without book one. You may miss a few tidbits of information, but all in all it's relatively easy to get the jist. The problem is the world building is lacklustre, the characters are so one-dimensional, and the writing style just didn't hook me. I DNF'd at 30%.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
A Melody of Magic is the sequel to Queens Kings and Monsters. I read this book unaware that it was a sequel, however that did not really affect the reading of this novel. It was easy to pick up on the storyline.
Be warned that there are many characters that can make it a bit challenging to keep up with them all. Rana seems to be a child, however there are some scenes which make you think she isn't and it can be quite confusing. When reading fantasy novels, I also don't enjoy the inclusion of characters using 'Modern day slang or language"' as it just feels out of place and unfortunately A Melody of Magic' does fall in the category.
Ultimately, I did not enjoy this book. It just wasn't for me. I enjoy reading young adult but this felt more middle grade.
This was a relatively long book even though the front cover makes me presume that it’s shorter but besides this I think it’s a great easy read look fun to get to know the characters and the author and I think this is great to read I would love to be more about this author and I think I really enjoyed the book
An amazing read. Enjoyed from the start . It became monotonous after some time , but at the end again , it was really nice !
On the whole a good reading experience.
This book was long.
I was reading it until I noticed it was the second book in the series and I was like should I read the first.
No way.
Because I did not have time.
I believe this book was alright. It just needed to be shorter.
It took me so long to read.
I began reading this and I realized this is the second book in the series. Since I have not read the first book it would be unfair to rate it.
The book follows the adventures of three main characters rana , victor and prince saffron .
rana now ishaa is swept away to sceana a magic boarding school with her sisters while victor is investigating a mysterious a jewel incident with a new friend while prince saffron is busy with his wedding.
overall enjoyed the book and will definitely continue the series when the next book comes out .
Though the ending was a bit unsavoury still a delightful sequel to the first
