Having read the first book – The Cornish Midwife – I was keen to see more from some of the other characters. If you haven’t read that you could easily read this as a standalone, there is enough description to catch you up whilst not a complete rehash of everything for those that have.
This is definitely a feel-good read, easy going and comfortable; which to me make’s it perfect Sunday afternoon reading. Ideal when you just want to relax and enjoy.
Jo Bartlett has a nice writing style and has created a community full of unique, lovely characters. They are all so nice, will we see a ‘bad apple’ at some point though? That would be exciting.
Lovely story where we see triumph through tragedy, happiness after sadness and hope in the most unusual of places.

Absolutely loved loved loved this book had me in tears at certain points, wonderfully written and a perfect description of the wonderful village and all who live there, a 40 year old midwife due to be married to her true love who is desperate to have a baby as she has no family since her parents passed, when she in fact realises later that she has an entire village that she classes as her new family, lovely ending and an amazing storyline, would highly recommend and would rate a lot higher if I could

I had no idea this was part of a series, but that certainly didn't curtail my enjoyment of it. It was a fun book from beginning to end.

A sweet funny and emotional reading . A 40 year old midwife getting married to the man she loves but really wants a baby . We see how difficult is to get pregnant at any age . I loved Brae he is every womans perfect partner . Hope to see Jess and Toni story ass well .
I received this novel from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
