I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
Loved this. The characters had great chemistry and loved the different locations. Wondering if there will be another in this series featuring some of the other characters?
I was so excited to read Stolen In Her Wedding Gown, as the premise sounded like so much fun. The start of the book was really exciting and gripping - there was plenty of business intrigues and scheming, from all different angles, and I really enjoyed this element.
Once the MCs were together on the island, I unfortunately felt the book dipped in pace a bit after getting off to a roaring start. I wasn't as excited by the actual developing romance as I wanted to be - I think I'd just expected a bit more drama and tension between the two of them.
Ultimately, although I did love the beginning of this story, and I was satisfied with the overall ending, I did lose enthusiasm a little bit along the journey which was a real shame. Still, it was a reasonably easy, enjoyable book to read and I'd be interested to find out what happens in the rest of the series.
Stolen In Her Wedding Gown is written by Amanda Cinelli and published by Mills and Boon Modern. Priya is about to walk down the aisle for her very fancy socialite Manhattan wedding. Unfortunately her groom has other ideas and has run off to be with someone else. The wedding was a business transaction which would save her father’s business. She, therefore, marries Eros, the erstwhile groom’s half brother instead. Priya married to save the family business. Eros marries as he needs to be married before his brother (and stay married for a year) to claim his inheritance.
Both characters seem rather bitter. Eros that he is the illegitimate brother, Priya that her family do not recognise her successes. The chemistry is obvious between the two characters but is it sustainable when they are not alone on their private island and have to deal with real life.
I received this book via Netgalley and Mills and Boon in exchange for a honest review. I am a #MillsAndBoonInsider #netgalley #gifted
Priya is not marrying for love, she is marrying to save her father's business but having already walked away from one wedding her friends fear she will also walk away from this one.
Eros is the Groom's half brother and when he hears about the clause in his late fathers will saying that the first child to be married for a year will inherit the business he sets out to destroy Priya's marriage to his brother before it can even begin.
The story was predictable but still enjoyable, I have given it three stars just because I would have liked Priya to be more assertive, she wants to be the ceo of a major company but doesn't really stand up for herself in her private life which a person in her position would be able to.
A business deal arranged marriage, that doesn't quite get completed, when the bride changes her mind after being accosted on the way to the ceremony.
Certain facts are brought to light, which brings new bearings to the table. She is whisked away. Freed from any of the fallout by her intended bridegrooms stepbrother.
He has his own business interest based reasons for putting himself forward as her new prospective groom. So together a new agreement is formed.
The instant attraction between them both, is unavoidable, This plays out, with true everlasting love, marriage and all the future happiness they could wish for, with this happy ever after ending.
I read this ARC for an honest review
All thoughts and opinions are mine
This is a new author for me
I enjoyed the way the characters are written and the story was good
A little predictable but this did not spoil my enjoyment
I would certainly read more from this author
Two very hard working yet bitter characters find an arrangements of sorts. Both Eros and Priya carry emotional hurt and struggle with trust and commitment. Being propositioned on your wedding day, in your wedding gown sets the scene for the difficult growing relationship for our couple. Their feelings for each other and twisted and tangled up in property deals, inheritances and family issues. If one walks away the other just won’t be able to follow.
This story closely followed the trope.
Two brothers who are in competition with other but in an unusual way, and of course, there is a business involved.
One is a bastard though and it is the first to be married for a year that gets the prize. But the bastard doesn't want it - he has his own empire - built to spite his father. But then more scandal erupts about the potential bridegroom on the wedding day, and the bride runs away - with the bastard. who then marries her.
Trials and tribulations and then happily ever after.
Nicely written but you knew ending before you get through the first 3 chapters. Was it worth reading more? If this is your type of book, then yes. For a light romance it fits the bill, but there was no humour which would have enhanced it, in my opinion. so for being standard it gets 3 stars.
Eros is aptly named with a playboy reputation that lives up to his name. His meeting with his mother after the death of his estranged father gives the reader all the necessary clues to understand his commitment issues and need for Greek-style revenge. Priya is an heiress who refused to conform to the marriage of convenience expected of her. Succeeding on her own is important to her, so why is marrying someone she doesn't love. Eros' revenge and Priya marriage of convenience collide on her wedding day with life-changing results for them both.
Their dramatic meeting paves the way for sizzling chemistry that is slow to ignite due to Priya's innocence and Eros' unwillingness to push against her boundaries. They begin to form an emotional attachment before the physical attraction takes over, and whilst this a little unexpected in this romance category, it does make the story romantic.
This is an emotional love story with glamorous protagonists who are vulnerable under their outward facades.
I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
I really enjoyed reading this book; it's got all the essential ingredients of a category romance. Eros and Priya are both beautiful, damaged people who come together for their own reasons and embark on a journey of discovering each other and themselves in some brilliantly exotic locations.
I thought both Eros and Priya were great characters with emotional depth and the conflict and sexual tension between them was paced and executed really well; in fact, I couldn't put this book down. I also liked the fact that the author has handled the issue of the heroine having anxiety really well and it doesn't take away from her successes or make her a doormat. The hero is shown to be a bit of a rogue but it's done in a way that I found endearing and it told me more about the depth of emotional conflict in the character. Highly recommended!
3.5 - "You came into my life and tore down every wall I had…" Stars!
I’ve only recently discovered Amanda Cinelli as an M&B/Hqn author, and once again she delivered a really decent storyline with Eros and Priya’s marriage-of-convenience playing out mainly in the Greek sunshine.
Why did everything he say sound like a lovers bedroom whispers…
Although Priya wasn’t strictly stolen in her wedding dress, as she in the end willingly went with Eros, both of them have their own motives for hurtling into marriage with each other, and for both that doesn’t include emotions or an uncontrollable attraction to the other. Of course, being alone together on a private island doesn’t do anything to alleviate the tension and as you can expect it bubbles over into its inevitable conclusion.
That-said I did find this offering by the author a little slower going on the delivery of the sexy side of the story between them, in that I had to wait until well into the end quarter before any real action took place. The book wasn’t a struggle to read, but I definitely would have been happier if they had given into their base instincts sooner if you know what I mean!
With two half-brothers on Eros’s side in the mix, that we get to know very little about, I hope this story is the beginning of a series around them.
