Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book in return for an honest review.

Rating: 2.5⭐
This manga is about a honey-blood where her blood is pretty much irresistible to vampires and because of this, she has a bodyguard. Who is also a vampire. The banter wasn't too bad but I wasn't too fond of the art style and I couldn't keep my interest which is a shame because I liked the premise.

Would I Read It Again? No
Would I Recommend it? Not sure

Thank you to NetGalley, Toma Fuyuori, and Kodansha Comics for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Like: A more original way of using vampires in a story.
Dislike: That the main female character is pretty much helpless and can't do anything on her own, not even baking...

In this world, there has been a lot of conflict between vampires and humans, as well as people with special blood. These conflicts have mostly been resolved and regulated through laws and authority. Kagari is a honey-blood, a human with extraordinarily sweet-tasting, delicious blood which often triggers other vampires to attach. Going to school with other vampires can certainly be a challenge, but that is why honey-bloods get assigned a species protector, namely another vampire. Ryotaro has been with Kagari since childhood, but his feelings may fall in the way of his duties as a protector. When another honey-blood comes along seeking Kagari's hand in marriage, a deadly rivalry is born, and Ryotaro finds he might not be able to control himself.

I love the art in this manga. While I am not a huge fan of Kagari as a character, Ryotaro is very interesting and I'd like to see how far his ambitious feelings will take him. I think the honey-blood aspect is similar to instances of vampire telling's in the past, though twisted in a bit of a different way. This take on a vampire comingling with human society was unique enough for it to be rather interesting, and the blooming romantic conflict is certainly one for paranormal romance fans.

3.5 I might be being overly kind as I find the world more interesting than I normally see in vampire manga (but not nearly as scaring as Black Rose Alice). The romance elements are pretty basic princess/servant with the added honey-blood/vampire bits to make it spicy. I'm curious if the end is going to be like Chibi-Vampire or more Her Majesty's Dog because I can't see this going any other way.

I loved the casual and constant banter between the main characters, as well as the casual licking here and there. It made me laugh most of the time but confused as well. I find it hard to distinguish if this supposed to be humorous or serious in its ambiance because it transitions from one to another in always a jarring way. The concept is also a little hard to follow at first, but I guess the following volumes can enlighten us more about the world and the characters.

¡Me encantó! Un verdadero plot twist, digno de admirar.

ARC Copy...although the supernatural elements were promising and...being "un-twilight" romantic about the notion of a being wanted for their particularly delicious blood; I found the relationship/romance between the two protagonists to be very forced and not romantic.

I feel like this first volume is a good example of a typical fantasy shojo. It was a nice read, funny, cute and entertaining but it was also nothing out of the ordinary. From the afterword, I am expecting the story to develop and become a bit more serious and deeper so I will definitely read the next volume to have a complete opinion on the series.
3/5

The Honey-blood Beauty & Her Vampire is a cute but dark spin on the vampire myth.
The first volume sets up a very light-hearted and comedic almost slice-of-life tone, only to give a good dark plot twist at the end. I'm definitely interested to continue the manga.
I recommend this for all fans of vampires and fun mangas.

There is no shortage of vampire manga, and this isn't bringing anything to the party.

There is a really toxic power dynamic going on paired with what is inexplicitly a foot fetish. Along with using girls kissing as a joke. (gross)

The only thing going for it is Kagari and Ryotara's history (since it's played up as something dramatic).

I found this incredibly disappointing overall.

Nice read to spend your time with.

Its an enjoyable read and definitely something for slow-burn Romance Lovers !
I feel like i expected it to be a bit more intense, but i sort of liked how it left room for interpretation. The ending was more emotional than i thought it would be, which made the story better.

Recommend it for people who like Slow-burn Romance with passionate Characters!

Thank you to Kodansha Comics and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review more mangas.

The Honey-blood Beauty and Her Vampire is a romance manga is which humans (pabulums) and vampires co-exist. The things is that there are some humans with a special blood type called "honey bloods" which can drive crazily to the vampires. That's why these "honey bloods" have their own protection, bodyguards called "SPS".
Kagari is the protagonist and as a "honey blood" she has a SPS, Ryotaro, a trained vampire to served her, who likes to tease her, but deeply has feelings for her.

From the first page is reminded me to "Vampire Knight", although this one is more romance and comedy. I got interested in the story and I would love to have Ryotaro as my bodyguard. This is my kind of manga with vampires and romance!
Really hope that the second volume won't take too long, specially with that ending (ahhh!)

Nice artwork. The set up of the world is a little too quick (I personally would have liked some more mystery as to how the world worked) but overall a pretty fun read. There's certainly some intriguing ideas and I can definitely see that the series could work well as a long runner.

Um, well, I admit that what drew me to the manga was first and foremost the green-haired boy on the cover. Because, as crazy as it sounds, I know that if there's a green guy in a manga or anime, it's going to be fun in any way.
But I'm definitely not the person who could say a good word about this particular manga, at least not as good as I initially wanted. Overall, I overestimated my strength by asking for this title. The fact that I see the same ratings below as mine reassures me to some extent. I give two stars, because at least the art is decent. Not who knows what, according to my preferences, but somewhat cute.

At the beginning, it reminded me a lot of Diabolik Lovers (big no-no, as they say), but the girl was not a stupid idiot (with a sincere apology), but a princess. In general, I'm not a fan of this type of reverse harems, although I usually love them. And by "this kind" I mean the stupid princess and more than one young man to strain on her, be it overt or covert, using all the slimiest tricks in the shoujo genre. One such I can endure in a standard reverse. If there are more, they immediately sharpen my nerves. So unfortunately I will part with this title, with a few negative feelings.
Maybe it would have succeeded in the golden age of this type of stories ... About ten years ago (have they happened already?).

The original of this opinion is in Bulgarian. Sorry for the translation errors. I am adding a link.

4.5 out of 5 stars!

As vampires and humans coexist in this world, there are those humans with "special" blood that drives vampires crazy. Such humans have vampire bodyguards called SPs. One high-school human with "special" blood is Kagari and her bodyguard, Ryotaro. This book shows the beginning of their changing relationship as they encounter vampires, humans, and more as well as glimpses of their shared past.

This is a nice beginning to the series. It has a spunky heroine that isn't perfect and a hero who protects her, even if it has to be from himself in some way. I liked the heroine's friends who supports the heroine in every way. There is humor, drama, love, and more in this book. It may not have as much action to the overall plot

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I requested this book because the art and premise looked interesting, but I didn't quite enjoy it as much as I thought I would. The main character Kagari Tojyo was very passive and she did not drive the plot so much as it carried her along for the ride. I also didn't really care for Ryotaro, the male vampire. He seemed overzealous at times, and his motivation to protect Kagari, and drink her blood, felt very flat. Unfortunately, I don't think I will continue this series, but I'm still grateful for the chance to read it.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kagari Tojo is a "Pabulum" which means that she has blood that's said to be of the highest grade "Honey Blood" and just the smell of a little drop from it can make the vampires go crazy and finding difficulty in supressing their hunting instincts but nothing can happen to Kagari thanks to her SP, Ryotaro, a kind of a top bodyguard trained and selected from the best by the country to protect the Honey Blood species. Also, the SPs are the only vampires that can enjoy Honey Blood as a payment.
Kagari and Ryotaro's relationship is funny, cute and crazy complicated because they got feelings for each other but there is a dark part to their story together. It was entertaining to read this book and I'm curious about what will happen in the next volume because of the message left at the end by the author.

Thank you to Kodansha and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I love reading shojo manga, especially when it includes fantasy elements like vampires. That is my absolute favorite genre, and some of my favorite mangas like Vampire Knight belong to that genre. I was so happy to get approved to review this book. Thank you again to the publisher for this opportunity!

The Honey-blood Beauty & Her Vampire, volume 1 by Toma Fuyuori introduces us to a young woman with a special type of blood that attracts all kinds of predators/vampires, and a vampire who is sworn to protect her from other vampires. Kagari Tojyo is our heroine. She has an incredibly potent type of blood called "honey blood." She has to be careful walking around at night, and if she accidentally cuts herself, a swarm of vampires will descend to suck her blood. Thankfully, she has Ryotaro, a bodyguard and "SP" vampire who uses his fast reflexes and super strength to protect her from other vampires. As a reward and in exchange for his service, Ryotaro is allowed to suck Tojyo's blood once a day.

First off, the art is gorgeous. Secondly, the story itself is an exciting mix of romance, action, fantasy, and comedy. Tojyo and Ryotaro start off as stranger but eventually grow closer until they're friends, or perhaps, more than friends. It was interesting watching their relationship develop despite obstacles like rogue vampires and other potential love interests. The restraint that Ryotaro shows in not sucking Tojyo's blood whenever he wants is one of his best qualities. It made me want to root for them to become a couple. I did take off one star because the chapters seem very episodic and disjointed so far. I'm not sure where the story is going, but I think that the author will figure it out as it goes on. In the author's note at the end, she says that she included a lot of comedy in Volume 1 to attract readers, but that Volume 2 will be darker.

Overall, The Honey-blood Beauty & Her Vampire is an excellent addition to the shojo and fantasy genres, and it will appeal to fans of Vampire Knight, Fruits Basket, or Sailor Moon. If you're intrigued by the description or are a fan of manga in general, I highly recommend checking out Volume 1, which is out in stores now. The book ends on a major cliffhanger, so I can't wait to read Volume 2 when it comes out!

Interesting beginning to a new manga series. In this world humans and vampires use to be at odds killing each other, but they have resolved their differences and formed a society side by side. The story follows a teenage girl that is one of the rare honeybloods, humans with blood so tasty that it can drive vampires to attack. She has been assigned an elite vampire to protect her since she was a child and the manga explorers their relationship difficulties between vampire and human, honeyblood and sworn protector, master and servant, and her rejected love for him. I can't wait to learn more about this interesting society and how the relationship progresses.

In world where vampires and humans co-exist, Kagari Tojyo has rare extra yummy blood call "honey blood". Ryotaro is her hot and sadistic bodyguard who happens to also be a vampire himself. You get to watch Kagari try to live a "normal life" while not having one at all.

I really wanted to like this book, especially since I am trash for this kind of stuff, but it completely fell short in so many aspects. The characters were badly introduced which makes it fairly hard to care or like them. They say a lot without actually saying anything at all, I learned so little about them, yet was suppose to be invested in what was happening to them... Also if they've been with each other for so long, how do they know so little about each other?

Like I mentioned before, I am trash and I can usually overlook a lot if the romance is good, but the romance in this made no sense. None of the interactions made me feel anything because they felt completely out of know where. Also, the universe also doesn't make much sense and I have so many questions. It feels like I am missing a chunk of the story and even had to check what volume I was reading.

I am sure the rest of the series will answer more questions and go more into depth about their history, but there wasn't enough in this book specifically to make me want to continue. In a story with adult content, it's weird for the plot to be based on jealousy. But the art was nice and I enjoy the master kink being gender-switched like this, but that's all the positive I have to say.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review.
