This book is so boring that it put me to sleep multiple times and I did not finish. It's just following 3 friends through their lives with no substance. I kept waiting for something to happen and it never did.

Angela Marsons the wonderful author of the fabulous Kim Stone series, has changed genre and written a funny rom com. Three friends, Cher, Deb and Sarah cast a spell after too many bottles of wine to hope to change their lives and make their dreams come true. Reading their exploits in this book was a joy.
I will always love the Kim Stone series but I also look forward to reading more like this from Angela.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own

Be careful what you wish for!

Super cheesy, and a tad bit predictable, but very fun!

I think Cher’s story was my favorite-even though she probably annoyed me the most... hopefully most adults aren’t that ignorant about their work place... but her story besides that part was cute.

Sarah’s was my least favorite... she seemed selfish and got what was coming to her.

The whole wish thing felt lackluster as it was mentioned twice...

But overall, a fairly lighthearted, easy read.

The queen of crime has returned with a fabulous rom-com. Having loved Angela’s DI Kim Stone books, it was a no-brainer to request an advanced review copy of If Only. I loved the three main characters, Cher, Sarah and Deb from the start. The three best friends each have a goal, find love, have a baby and didn’t have the mother in law from hell. One drunken summer evening they each wish for the one thing they want the most but what I’d they’re wishing for the wrong thing?

This is a great novel and I enjoyed every page. Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and the author for the chance to review.

I love Angela’s Kim Stone series, every book as good as the last so was very intrigued to read this completely different genre. I really enjoyed it, the characters were very likeable and the storyline easy to get in to and read, I read it in 2 sittings. I hope Angela continues to write more books like this but also the Kim Stone series as I really like both.

While I normally adore Angela Marsons work this just has so many characters. Don't get me wrong it was well written as with all of this authors book. It was okay and I know this isn't for me or marketed towards me so I am content with it being an okay read.

This book follows 3 best friends who have a sort of seance to make their wishes come true- from winning the perfect man to losing a mother in law. Each chapter was from a different character's point of view, it was a clever story but I felt myself rushing through some of it.

This book took me on an amazing journey and I enjoyed every minute! I loved Cher, Deb and Sarah, and their individual predicaments; each one exploring very real-life issues. ‘If Only’ was bursting with humour, heartache, anguish, a few cringe moments and it left me with a few giggles too. The spell casting scene was hilarious! I could really picture it in my head as I read it.

I loved how each woman’s story strand played out in a perfectly paced way and I equally enjoyed the moments where they came together to share their problems and spend time in each other’s company. Each character felt so well developed and authentic, they were like old friends as I followed their stories.

This is a tale of true friendship. ‘If Only’ is amazing and the characters will stay with you for a long time. If you love witty and heartwarming, you can’t afford to miss this one!

A spell may express a wish but only action and realization makes a dream come true. Debra knew Mark was the one but she needed to include his mother to realise the meddling is a form of love to ensure everyone's needs are met. Sarah fantasized about an illusion that was never meant to be. Cher fixated on someone who treated her like an joke when the love of her life and truly valued her sat silently on the sidelines. A great book about women who through self confidence, fought for themselves.

How fun is the premise of If Only?? Three friends, each unhappy with her life, find a spell book and concoct their own spells. It was fin to see how their “wishes” played out, each in a decisively unexpected manner than how they originally planned. I thought each friend’s story was clever. I was partial to Cher’s story and Deb’s the most. The ending will simply bring you to your knees, it’s so simple and satisfying. Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it, but then again yiu may get far more as well.

If Only optimises the phrase, 'Be careful what you wish for!' I loved Deb, Sarah and Cher, both the friendship they shared and their individual stories. Angela might be known as the Queen of Crime, but she's certainly earned enough crown for this rom-com with some one-liners that will stay with me. This is a really satisfying story that readers will love.

Again, another new author for me. I really enjoyed this, an easy read and I finished it in one sitting, I love the 3 main characters as well.
On a weekend, I love nothing more than a easy read with a cup of tea, would be prefect to read by the pool or in the garden.

I love the Kim Stone series by this author and when I heard she had written a different genre I was really excited to read it, and what a nice surprise it was too.

This is a feel good, light-hearted book that I really enjoyed. It is well written with a nice cast of characters and would make a great holiday/ beach read. So if you are looking for an easy read to while away a few hours then look no further.

Highly recommended!

A good romantic comedy with all the components that you expect, enjoy and delight in.
Cher, Deb and Sarah each have their own problems to solve, and things don't quite go to plan despite their best efforts.
Great start and end to this in particular. Light hearted, words flow off the page, great escapism read.

If Only by Angela Marsons. Heartwarming, filled with laughter and tears, love and friendship between the three best friends, Cher, Sarah and Deb. A different genre from Angela Marsons, a well written and enjoyable romance.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

A different book by Angela Marsons, but I knew it going in. Romantic comedy books are not my favourites, but I like to read one once in a while. Marsons is an excellent storyteller, and the story flows well. I enjoyed the way the main characters grow in this book. I also enjoy the interaction between them, they way they ponder about things, and even though life happens, they are strong, grown women, and in the end they know what they want.

I read this book in two sittings. It is a feel good book that simply pulled me in, and I wanted to know what will happen to these women. I love it when a favourite author of mine can surprise me with writing something so different, and do it well. Then you just know the author is brilliant, and she knows what she is doing!

As a fan of Angela Marsons Kim Stone series, I was keen to read her first outing in a different genre. Having read the first few chapters she posted a few weeks ago as a taster I was looking forward to finding out how the story progressed.
Three friends, all unhappy with the direction their lives are heading, drunkenly decide to try out a Four Winds wishing spell from a spell book in an attempt to improve their lives. One wishes for love as she wants her boss to fall in love with her, another wishes for fertility as she believes a baby will make the married man she is having an affair with leave his wife and child, and the third wants power, so an overbearing mother in law will leave her to plan her forthcoming wedding without interfering or worse, stopping the wedding going ahead.
Can their wishes come true? Should they be careful what they wish for?
The characters were well written and developed through the book and I loved the friendship and support between the main characters. I laughed out loud at some parts, found myself welling up at others and enjoyed seeing some get the comeuppance they richly deserved. Angela Marsons has the talent to make her readers invest in her characters, to root for them, and to enjoy their journey to the outcome they deserve. Loved it!
