Wasn't expecting this book when I started reading. Any book I'd seen so far about Reiki was about energy healing and how to use hands over the person you're healing and it feels very technical and methodical.
This book was a pleasant surprise! The author goes into the spiritual root and aspects and practice of Reiki, and as such, it was novel and refreshing, as well as deeply soothing and empowering at the same time. Many reading this/getting through this will say it's very woo-woo...but it's exactly this that made it so appealing to me. The floor was left open to the reader as a companion joining the author in these musings and expositions - it wasn't about an 'expert' dishing out what's right or wrong and they're the only one who knows best. This is what won me over mostly - the author comes across as patient, compassionate, and open to letting everyone find their own flow as opposed to what she says/preaches.
Read if you want to delve into what Reiki truly is (as it was developed in Japan) and how you can apply it to your life, not as hands-on energy healing, but as an awakening of your own self and soul as you look deeper within you.

What a lovely informative book on the beautiful technique of Reiki. Its really fuelled my interest in this lovely energy therapy.

An excellent book for anyone new to Reiki as well as those familiar and wanting to go more in depth.

As someone who has just completed Reiki 1 I found this book to be useful for me. The subject was easy enough for me to understand and the way different areas were explained it helped me to understand some things that I was struggling with. This is a book I think I will continue to refer to as I grow my Reiki knowledge and skills.

For those who are interested in learning more about Reiki, this book is a great tool to take one beyond the basics. The author’s words and sentiments are powerful and thought-provoking. I was drawn in by the author’s beautiful way of expressing thoughts and ideas.

At the beginning of each section is a quote from a sage or writer. These quotes served not only as reminders that humanity has always wondered about the secrets of the Universe, but also we are reminded of the beauty of the written word. The book is a balm to the soul and its pages gently lift the spirit.

Interesting insight to Reiki. Having only heard a few people talk about it, it was informative and educational.

Since getting my levels I and II Reiki certifications last year I've been devouring every book I can on the subject. The forward for this book is accurate-this is not a manual for how to be a Reiki practitioner. But I never expected that this would impact me the way that it did.

The most difficult thing about explaining Reiki to others is that there's nothing tangible to show them. This book put everything into words that I could not appropriately explain myself. I immediately bought myself a copy for myself and I'm reading it a second time and making notations for myself and underlining passages re-read again and again. I cannot wait to start utilizing some of the way Brighitta conceptualized Reiki with my own clients.

I know very little about Reiki, but I found this to be quite good, and could be a book that has no connection to Reiki in that it is about ways of thinking and being that are universal. Some great quotes are also included. Recommended.

I found this book really difficult to read. I am not a newbie to Reiki - yet I think this book still wouldn't be suitable for some experts.
The book is very dense, and at times felt very wishy-washy and off topic.
I was expecting a non fiction book, with illustrations that I could dip in and out of as and when i need it. This book certainly was not that.

The book is written more like a self-help book, and goes completely around the topic rather than just sticking to the key facts and elements of Reiki.
Not an enjoyable reading experience for me. Too dense, and too complex!

I have a special interest in reiki and reflexology so was very interested in this book and it’s healing powers in not just physical illness but physiological too.

I have interest in Reiki and was glad to come upon this book. The front cover is a lovely green colour and is very catchy to the eye which I think helps when you are looking for book that sticks out. There is is lot of information in the book and for me I need to go back and read each chapter at a time and put it down . Have a think about what I just read.
