Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
Perfectly pitched short story.
It is uplifting and relatable, just what I needed.
Read if you need a break from reality!
This is the wholesome and loveable romance novel that I adore Katie Fforde for.
I love Katie Fforde's writing and this short story didn't let me down. Allie's character was adorable and then the drama of this story was fab, would highly recommend it as a palette cleansing book.
Wholesome, inspirational and feel good!
I loved this short story! Allie was such a lovely character. Despite being quite nervy and cautious initially, she had a wonderful strength within herself!
I read this in 2 sittings because I just wanted to find out what else happened!
Despite being a short story there was still so much going on! It certainly didn't lack in detail or action which is brilliant!
This is my second Katie Fforde book I've read through Netgalley and honestly I can't wait to get my hands on more!
This was a really cute little short story which had all the charm and engaging writing I have come to expect from Katie Fforde. This would be a great way for new readers to sample her work.
I love Katie Fforde and I hope this means that with quick reads more people discover her lovely books.
Allie is dreaming of a better job and maybe a better boyfriend but to get her dream job in a cafe she has to learn how to cook. With the help of her neighbour Cherry both their lives change for the better
This book is just what it says it is- a quick read and it serves the purpose for which it was written. There was not much depth in it and a really predictable storyline.
This was a really good read. Easy story to follow, charming setting and great characters. Really enjoyed it.
Bored working in a supermarket filling shelves 20-year-old Allie wants something exciting to happen in her life. Her long term boyfriend Ryan is trouble and no help always holding her back.
As she is walking home one evening she passes a lovely little cafe with an advert in the window for staff.
Her cooking and baking skills are not brilliant but on a chance, she goes in and is offered the job. She lives with her dad but has no other ties and she is fed up with her work colleagues criticising and interfering.
With the help of her neighbour teaching her how to cook and bake, will she turn her life around, this is her time, her chance.
These short books by favourite authors are a delight and just right for a lazy sit on the beach or park bench.
Thank you, NetGalley, for allowing me to read and review this lovely book. xxx
This was a nice easy read about a girl who gets a second chance to improve herself and help others. I really enjoyed this heartwarming book and would recommend it to others.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for letting me read this book in exchange for a review, I will put this review on Amazon too.
A good easy reading book these quick reads are perfect for people if they only have a limited amount of time to read or if you are interested in short stories in magazines and want to go on to read full length novels. When Allie changes her job from working in a supermarket to work in a cafe her life changes and she meets lots of new interesting people who help to make her feel better about herself and they soon become her friends.
A heartwarming and sweet story that made me smile. A young woman and her dreams becoming reality, the will to change and improved.
It's a short story and loved every moment of it.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Lovely quick little read. Charming as always from a Katie Fforde! I don't usually read short stories but really enjoyed this.
A fun quick read with a lovely story. The characters were pretty basic but for a 100 pages, clear characters were portrayed. A heart warming story of a hard working gal!
A wonderful quick read with a lovely main character given a second chance to improve herself and her life.
Oh it was so lovely to be back in a Katie Fforde book, it really has been too long since I awarded myself that treat. When this quick reads title came out I knew it was the perfect excuse to be back in this author's world again and boy was it a good time.
This book is just the antithesis of heartwarming. It has all the ingredients of a great quick romance read: food, self discovery and a nasty boyfriend you need to get rid of. I loved the message of this book that you can do anything you set your mind to and that if you put in the effort you can make changes to your life at any time.
The main character in this book is just 20. I can't remember the last time I read a romance involving a younger protagonist that wasn't YA. I feel like this allowed me to really root for her throughout the book and also allow her come mistakes that I wouldn't necessarily allow an older heroin in a romance novel. It was great seeing someone so early on in their life be so driven and so determined to make a change.
Super story by Katie Fforde!! Even though it's a short story, it's brilliant!! From a hectic day, relax in a chair, and read this story, it's 'just the ticket'!!
Abbie is bored with her job and her boyfriend, she sees an ad in the window of a cafe, and there it begins, her life changes!!
Everyone's dream i'd say!!
Wonderful!!
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
Such a uplifting book.
You can identify with and feel how stuck she feels and unsure of how to go about making the changes she needs to, so that she’s happy.
It took one minute of her courage for her to apply for a job she really wanted. What happens after that is fantastic. Every step she took was Amal, but putting them all together it was a phenomenal result.
A new friend leads her to learning to cook and her Dad finds love again, a new job and a very much needed positive support network.
A perfect little quick read book for fans of Katie Fforde, and for those times when you just want something less full on than a whole book. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Not a bad short story but didn't feel there was any suspense or build up to the story. It was a bit too predictable.
