I didn't end up reading this book as it expired before I was able to download it. I was new to netgalley at the time and didn't realise there was a deadline and by the time I got to read it it was too late, sorry!
Clearly strong writing and cleverly written. Unfortunately, I think I'm the wrong audience and could not truly connect with the book. Regardless, I believe the right audience will connect and get a lot out of this read.
Innovative and original ... Visceral and disturbing ... And endlessly thought-provoking, this blistering expose of global corruption is surprisingly a debut novel, but I can assure you C.A. Sacha writes with razor-sharp professionalism.
Twenty years ago John le Care wrote of illegal drug-testing in Africa in The Constant Gardener but C.A. Sacha takes the theme one step further in a thriller that is totally relevant as the world moves ever closer to devastating climate change.
The author writes with fierce political intelligence and has an absolute command of the internal landscape of her characters. This could and should become a blockbuster film.
I found myself disagreeing with several other reviews of this book - while the plot was intricate and engaging, I found the characters to be one-dimensional and stereotypical. The pacing for the last 10% or so seemed inconsistent with the rest of the book and the ending wasn't particularly satisfying, but the biggest issue for me was the poor character development that detracted from the well-researched plot.
The pace is steady, the plotline is gripping and i was hooked after a few chapters. This is one of those books you can't say too much about as I would spoil it for potential readers. There were times when i was on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put the book down. I highly recommend this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was crazy! But also very accurate in today's world! I read this Eldiwise so I'll leave the same review here!
This book I devoured. This is a political thriller and it will have you question everything you think you know!
This author has done her research and wrote this book so dang well! I was hooked and I devoured it!
