I appreciate the publisher allowing me to read this book. I found the subject matter really interesting. The book was well written and easy to understand. I highly recommend this book.

This story sounded interesting but wasn't well executed. I didn't like the writing style which made the characters feel removed from the action and none of them were fully developed in any way. The story follows a charm bracelet that supposedly has a curse placed on it but there are several plot holes surrounding it.
I like historical fiction but this book left me feeling flat - it felt as though the author had no idea of what life might have been like in any of the time periods visited in the book.

If Erin Morgenstern's "The Night Circus" and the fairy tales of Hans Christian Anderson had a baby it would be this book. Similar to "The Night Circus" this book revolves around a thing - in this case a charm bracelet. Unlike, "The Night Circus," the writing has a much more fairy-tale-narrator style than Morgenstern's lyric prose. It's not my favorite kind of novel, but I bet a ton of readers would love this.

A Most Unusual Charm starts out in Istanbul with a young girl being lost in the bazaar. However, this young girl isn't the main character of the book. The main character is a bracelet that is given to her. This book tells the tales of the people's lives that come in contact with the bracelet and it's most unusual charm.
