I enjoyed this fast paced action packed book! Yes, the plot is a little ridiculous, but it kept me entertained and kept me reading page after page to figure out the ending. Taylor Adams never disappoints!
Thank you to netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Where do I start with this one..
I did not read "No Exit" by Taylor Adams, but had heard favorable reviews, so I was excited to read Hairpin Bridge. However..
Dare I say this is the worst thriller I have read all year, topping "The Maidens." The plot was utterly ridiculous, first of all. Incredibly unrealistic. While some novels can create a thrilling, fun setting in the space of one spot, this wasn't done here - it was BORING. The dialogue was absolutely atrocious, and looking at the number of books Adams has written, I'm truly shocked they wrote the monstrosity that was this back and forth between characters. Despite me being a former member of law enforcement, I'm all for a cop being bad for the sake of an interesting plot, but this was just about the most unbelievable police officer I've ever seen written.
The italicized chapters written for the dead sister just got on my nerves, but that's a technical issue. I would have overlooked that if the book was good, but it was just.. bad.
Review to follow on bookstagram. I think this author can produce more based on their past work, but this was simply dreadful.

I’ve been waiting a while for a new book from Taylor Adams but this one was def worth the wait!
Three months ago, Lena’s estranged twin sister drove to a remote bridge in Montana, exited her car, and jumped two hundred feet to her death. She left behind a vague suicide note and no answers.
Lena suspects murder. Armed with an audio recorder, she travels to that very bridge to interview the highway patrolman who allegedly discovered her sister's body - and catch him in an incriminating lie. But as her twin's fateful last hours come into focus, Lena's search for the truth turns into a harrowing, tooth-and-nail fight for her own survival - and one that will test everything she thought she knew about her sister.
She wants the truth. Even if it costs her life.
Adams has always managed to perfectly entwine the thrills and suspense of an high impact action with the nuances and slow burn of a psychological horror and that’s what I love so much about his books.
He is the king of pacing and knows exactly how to hook and entertain his readers just when they need it and Hairpin Bridge was no exception.
A story of revenge, betrayal, family relationships and the devastation and unanswered questions left behind after a death, Adams expertly navigates the journey Lena goes on to find the truth about her sister’s passing.
At times haunting, and at times edge of the seat nail bitingingly tense this was a whirlwind adventure that I felt I experienced first hand, right with Lena and Cambry. A fantastic read with so many twists and turns, surprises and revelations, I couldn’t put it down!
The sad thing now is, how long do I have to wait for another one Mr Adams?

This had potential but it was overwrought with tropes, highly repetitive and a chore to trudge through. Two stars for me.

Lena’s twin sister Cambry dies by jumping off Hairpin Bridge, also known as suicide bridge. Her death is ruled as a suicide. Lena doesn’t believe her sister’s death was a suicide and that she was actually murdered. Lena drives to Montana and confronts the cop who found Crambry.
This book takes over the span of a few hours. Not much really happens. The action was mediocre. I loved No Exit, but found this to not be as great.

I was so excited to read this book after LOVING “No Exit” by Adams. I was not as thrilled with this one, but I think it was for personal reasons. The writing and story are as sharp and well crafted as his previous novel.
Lena’s twin committed suicide a few mi the earlier, but she’s not convinced that this is the truth. She vows to find out what really happened to Cambry, facing down a supposed villain in the form of a police officer. From page to page, you’re not sure who is who or what is true, which leads to a very interesting story.
Adam’s excels at writing the suspense novel that takes place in one singular location.

I love that I can count on Taylor Adams to give me a page-turning, heart-racing THRILLER. I’m tired of long, drawn-out mysteries that actually aren’t that mysterious, and this was the perfect change of pace to make me really fly through a book like I love to do. The story itself was nothing overly complex or even necessarily interesting, but the way it was written made me want to get to the end asap and figure out what the heck was going to happen. If you liked No Exit and want those same feelings but in a completely different setting and storyline, definitely pick this up!

3.5/5 Stars
Hairpin Bridge was one of my most anticipated releases of the year! Like many others, I fell in love with Taylor Adam’s heart-pounding and high-octane writing when reading No Exit. It was easily one of my favourite reads of the year.
Hairpin Bridge follows the story of Lena Nguyen, who is determined to find out what really happened to her sister Cambry. The police report says that Cambry drove to Hairpin Bridge, got out of the car, and jumped to her death. Her body is found by Corporal Raymond Raycevic, the very same officer who pulled her over for speeding just one hour before her death. Lena convinces Raycevic to meet her at the scene where the alleged suicide happened because the story just does not add up. There were sixteen attempted 911 calls from Cambry’s cell phone, though she could not get a signal. And even more suspicious is Cambry’s final text to her sister: “Please Forgive Me. I couldn’t live with it. Hopefully you can, Officer Raycevic.”
From the very first pages, I was already heavily invested in the story and itching to know the truth. I was expecting the novel to be fast-paced, but I found the first half was a slower burn. There is definitely a palpable tension, but it is not instantaneous action that I expected. Similar to No Exit, Adams also gives us strong, kick-ass female lead. Lena doesn’t always make the smartest decisions, but she can certainly hold her own, and I absolutely loved that.
The second half of the novel is filled with the twists and turns and high-stakes scenarios we have come to expect from Taylor Adams. Just when you think you have it all figured out, the story takes a new direction. While I love to be kept guessing, I did find parts of the story confusing at times. The storyline jumps back and forth between present day with Lena, recently written blog posts by Lena, and flashbacks to Cambry’s story. The present day storyline and flashbacks are told in third person, but with thoughts from different characters in first person interjected in a way that I found jarring. The storyline also jumps multiple times in some chapters, so I had to go back and confirm who I was reading on a few occasions. I would have rated this higher were it not for these points, as it distracted from a really engaging plot.
Although I didn’t love this one as much as No Exit, I still say this is a thriller worth a read. Adams really has an engaging writing style, making the reader feel like they are in the middle of the action. I look forward to seeing what he comes up with in the future, and he is still staying an auto-buy author for me.
Many thanks to Joffe Books and NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
I read No Exit a few years ago and loved it. I jumped to read another book by Taylor Adams.
I was instantly drawn in to the storyline. I loved reading the back and forth of Cambry and Lena's different paths. I was fully invested, but as I reached 30% I thought, "How can we keep up this suspense the rest of the book"?
And that fear was realized. As the pages went on, I got tired. I felt like I was reading the same scene over and over again. The action scenes all seemed to blend together, so there was no real climactic ending.
I enjoyed the book, but I was underwhelmed by Hairpin Bridge, especially with my high expectations from No Exit.

Taylor Adams is the author of one of my favorite books, No Exit. So I definitely had very high expectations and he did not disappoint!!
What a wild ride this book was!!
Let’s just say the action never stopped in this book and I was there for it! I initially thought that this was going to be predictable since Lena was going to confront the man that allegedly discovered her sister’s body after committing suicide. But there are so many twists and turns that I was pleasantly surprised by the development of the story.
The only reason this isn’t 5-star review is because I was missing something. I can’t put my finger on it but I didn’t really like any of the characters. Even Lena, the main character, there was something about her that I wasn’t really sympathetic towards.
I did love however how the story was written. It went back and forth between the characters POV and Lena’s blog and Lena trying to tell her sister’s side of the story. I thought that was a very creative way to tell the story!
I just really like the action pack story and the twists and turns. I think that’s a combination for an amazing thriller! Highly recommend.

This is my first time reading a Taylor Adams novel but it definitely won't be my last! Talk about suspenseful, I finished this quickly in one afternoon as I couldn't put it down. Full of suspense and so many twists and turns. The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is I thought there was a few too many car chases and a lot more information about those than I wanted to read.

In Hairpin Bridge we follow Twins, two sisters, Cambry who died in a tragic accident, and the other, Lena, set her mission to prove her sister was murdered. Through in a sketchy cop, an isolated bridge and the investigation turns into a hostage situation. Will Lena get the closure and answers she was looking for? Only time will tell in this edge of your seat heart pounding suspense with twists you won't see coming.

** Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion. **
Holy moly! I really love how this book is written with the timelines. There are so many twists and shocking moments in this book. It is a real page turner. It’s as if you are experiencing a cliffhanger all throughout the book and then it all comes together in the end. Taylor Adams is a great author. No Exit was also a favorite book of mine as well.

Whew!! I need a Xanax after finishing this book. I was so tense and on the edge of my seat from the very beginning and it never let up!
This is a prey and predator, cat and mouse, high intensity psychological thriller that I highly recommend for thriller fans!! I've heard great things about this book and I'm so glad I decided to check this book out!
Fair warning: I read the majority of this book late at night while home alone and that may not have been good idea (ha!), because this book had me so anxious with how it was going to turn out I had to wait til morning to finish! Adams definitely knows how to write a thriller!!
TW: suicide, death of child
***Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me an advanced copy of this book!

Wow! Good book! I wasn't to sure about this book at first! But I'm glad I stuck with it! It was a crazy little story! Lol this book had given me the chills! It had suspense, intrigue, action, and plenty of heart pounding moments! Lots of twists and turns! I definitely recommend reading this one! Its well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Wow this one was a struggle to get through for me. I know I'm in the minority, but this author and I may just not jive. This book is full of one convenience and eye roll moment after another. The amount of times a character does something "unexpected" at the EXACT right moment to avoid sure death is just astounding. I don't think the author bothered to research on even the simplest of scientific facts. Even the plot for a thriller was either monologues on monologues of the characters discussing what happened like the reader can't pick up on it or (view spoiler). ] It just really didn't work for me at all.
With that said, I know a ton of people loved this book. If you enjoyed No Exit or are looking for a fast paced thriller this might be for you.

Hairpin Bridge is a twisted game of cat and mouse as Lena delves into the mystery surrounding her estranged twin sister’s alleged suicide on a infamous (creepy AF) bridge.
Things just don’t add up for Lena, and she has made it her mission to get to the bottom of it and challenge the suspicious officer who found her sister’s body.
As Lena pokes the bear, she finds herself getting pulled deeper and deeper into it’s dark lair of deceit. YES, FOLKS! Things get very grim. But Lena is not one to f*ck with, and I loved it.
Much like No Exit, Adams’ last book, this one kept me dangling on the edge with a white knuckle grip. The tension was high, and I felt like anything could happen at any given moment.
As I read, I couldn’t help but wonder if when Lena gets her answers, she will wish she didn’t know the truth. It all just felt as loaded as a secret 9-millimeter Beretta. Will Lena get the result she desires, or will it all just go up in smoke and ashes?
YOU WILL NEED TO FIND OUT ON - when this thriller is published. Thank you @netgalley and @williammorrowbooks for providing this awesome ARC for me to review.
I gave it all the stars for the sheer adrenaline factor. I was invested and this book gave me horror movie feels. I don’t think it will be for everyone, but if you enjoy action packed edge of your seat thrillers, give it a shot.

I received an ACR of Hairpin Bridge by Taylor Adams from NetGalley. What a wild ride! I couldn't read this fast enough! Lena wanted to find out the truth about her twin Cambry's suicide by returning to Hairpin Bridge to talk to the Corporal Ray Raycevik. He had found Cambry at the bottom of the bridge. There were so many twists and turns in this book that I can't say too much more without giving them away. The author was laser focused on her story and characters. The characters were developed layer by layer and continually added a new detail that moved the story along and revealed more about Cambry's story before her suicide.. If you want a quick read, this thriller is for you!!

While I do not think that this book deserves all of the negative talk going around social, it was still just okay for me. The heroine was very hard to believe in. When exactly did she go from tiny little ordinary citizen to indestructible super hero? Also, the fight scenes were really repetitive. I kept having the feeling that I had already read this part, but nope, it was just exactly like the previous 6 chapters.... plus the ‘twist’ really didn’t make much sense to me? When we were getting Cambry’s perspective of the day she dies she says that she just randomly comes across some strange dude in the woods and he follows her. Then we are told they had a relationship and she was there willingly with him? What? I understand an unreliable narrator, but this one just really doesn’t make sense for me. I little disappointing for me, because I really did LOVE No Exit, and was looking forward to this one.

Several months ago, Lena’s twin sister, Cambry, took her own life. Cambry drove for over an hour to the Hairpin Bridge in Montana and jumped from the bridge to her death. That is the police “open and shut” account of what happened.
Lena does not believe that her sister would take her own life, so she starts playing detective and asking questions. The questioning starts with the officer that found her sister’s body. The officer’s official story is not adding up and there is clearly something amiss. Was Cambry actually murdered?
I really enjoyed this exciting thriller. I was highly engaged from the beginning to the end. Taylor Adams really knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. Lots of suspense and some good twists and turns in this one. I definitely recommend it.
