3.5/4 stars! I enjoyed this book but I felt it was too predictable and bogged down with details. I wanted something more.
The storyline itself was fun and fast paced for a thriller.
Cambry and Lena are twin sisters- very different but still the same.
Cambry’s death is ruled a suicide but Lena is hell bent on proving her sister would never kill herself. She arranges a meeting with the cop who pulled her over just a few hours before on the bridge her sister jumped from.
There are two stories- Lena and Cambry going on which at times got a bit confusing.
I know this will be a huge hit for Taylor Adams fans!
Thanks to William Morrow for my gifted copy.

I loved NO EXIT - couldn’t put it down, so of course I couldn’t wait to read this one. It was so good. Heart-racing, no idea where it was going and I couldn’t put it down. This will be a great beach book!

If you are looking for a book that is a fast-paced, unputdownable, wild ride - look no further. I’ve been in a little reading slump, but every time I put Hairpin Bridge down, I couldn’t wait to pick it back up again.
This story follows Lena Nguyen to Montana in a mission to find out more details - and the truth - of what happened the night her twin sister, Cambry, jumped to her death from the supposedly haunted Hairpin Bridge. Meeting the cop who found her body, Officer Reycevic, and as the truth slowly comes out, the tension and action drastically speeds up.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved Taylor Adams’ NO EXIT a couple of years ago so when I heard he had a new book coming out, of course I was so excited to check it out!
The story centres around Lena Nguyen who just doesn’t believe her estranged twin sister, Cambry, committed suicide by jumping off HAIRPIN BRIDGE. Lena decides to investigate herself, retracing her sister’s last steps, determined to find out what really happened. I don’t want to say anymore than that 🤐
The book is just FULL of twists, you think you’ve solved the case, and then wham... another twist 🎢 I just could not put this one down! My heart was pounding as I turned each page - SO much suspense (🚨 major intense anxiety throughout) and plenty of gory details that made me squirm. What more could you want in a thriller 🙌🏻... oh and it has my fave; alternating timelines 👏🏻👏🏻
👀 Out next month, mark your calendars- this thriller is the perfect addition to your summer TBR!
Same review going live on @bookedupgirl next week

***TRIGGER WARNING: SNAKES*** <-- this ALWAYS needs to be known before reading a book!!!!
4.5 stars
WOW, if there's one thing Taylor Adams does well, it's action/suspense!!! I felt a good chunk of the book was just a detailed gunfight, but I loved the main character Lena, and her smarts, determination and just general courage to get answers. Some things weren't explained though - like how did Lena know some of the things she knew?
This picture pretty much sums up all my questions while I was reading:
<img src="http://www.sadlersoft.com/why.jpg">
It seemed like Cambry made a lot of assumptions as well, but all was explained, and I love that!

Thank you Taylor Adams, NetGalley and Joffe Books for providing this eARC in exchange for an honest review! Pub date June 25, 2021
Cambry Nguyen jumped off Hairpin Bridge committing suicide, but her twin sister Lena doesn't believe it. Lena has a plan to get to the bottom of her sister's mysterious death by confronting the officer who found Cambry's body.
Hairpin Bridge is thriller where you actually need your brain turned on because it does have some real thinker moments. Don't read this when you're tired! The car chase gave me Tarantino Death Proof vibes, so I had the soundtrack on repeat in my head while reading this. I could also see this being turned into a cult favourite movie. It had the vibes of 80s horror flicks.
Taylor Adams deliberately chose to write Hairpin Bridge in a specific manner for maximum impact and the novel spans a single day. The reader gets third person POVs from the main characters, but the majority is from Lena (regular font). We also read excerpts from Lena blog prior to the day she confronts the officer (bolded font) and excerpts from the book she is writing in the future, which is from Cambry's perspective (italicized font). If this sounds confusing to you, that's because it was. It took me some time (like 50% of the novel) to wrap my brain around everything and keep track of but by the end I found I could dig it. It was intentionally confusing and misleading, which may frustrate some readers!
There were some moments where I got confused by right/left when people were driving and I had to attempt to draw/recreate what I was reading. Also... handcuffs - I thought they were behind his back? Anyways, if you've read this, was it just me?

Thank you Netgalley for arc!
All thoughts and opinions are my own.
4/5 ⭐️!
Holy crap this book was FABULOUS! I read No Exit a couple years back and really enjoyed it so I was excited to see that Taylor Adams was coming out with another book.
This book was so fast paced and thrilling that I couldn’t stop reading. Taylor Adams has a way of immersing people into dark and twisted settings and characters.
I loved how the story was told and I especially loved the blog posts throughout the book. It was definitely hard to read at some parts but overall this book was incredible. It’s definitely going into my favorite thrillers of the year list.
It’s safe to say that whatever Taylor Adams writes, I’ll definitely be reading. I highly recommend picking this up!
Release on June 15th so make sure you grab a copy!

Wow, what a twisty and fast-paced action thriller! I have absolutely no regrets reading it in one sitting and finishing it at 3am. Although not as good as No Exit, it was still an extremely compelling read.
Even more interesting is how 99% of the story takes place entirely on Hairpin Bridge itself and there are only four characters. I was kept guessing the entire time about whether Cambry's death was suicide or murder.
I enjoyed the multiple perspectives and how the author chose to tell Cambry's story. Rather than using the cheap and lazy method of storytelling by letting a dead character narrate her POV, Cambry's POV is actually told by Lynn, who is trying to piece together the events leading to Cambry's death.
Wasn't fond of any of the characters or the ending, however, but I can see why the author chose to go with that. Frankly, the protagonist sucks.
✨ Favourite quote: "Twins share a soul, they say. It's an abomination when one dies. The other is cursed to wander the earth incomplete and alone."

When your estranged twin is said to have committed the ultimate sin, how far would you go to redeem her name and search for the truth even if it means risking your own life?
I will pick up any book by this author after No Exit, which I devoured in a sitting. I do have to admit that I did enjoy No Exit more than this new release, but Taylor did not disappoint in this new heart-wrenching thriller. Hairpin Bridge had me on the edge of my seat through almost every chapter, dangling on each word. Pulse-pounding twists and turns and some very graphic scenes had me writhing and crawling out of my skin. Initially the multiple viewpoints was a bit confusing (may have been the digital edition I was reading) but getting the perspectives from each character put you right in their high-stakes position. I can't count the number of times my jaw-dropped, or I said 'REALLY? COME ON!'
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this in exchange for an honest review.

A true.y gripping story of twin girls so different to each other but actually quite the same who get involved in a twisted life of a haunted soul. In this book nothing is as it seems which results in a great storyline don’t miss this one

Alright. I don’t like being negative. I don’t like not finishing books. But I’m done with this author.
No Exit would have been incredible if it weren’t for the author’s ignorant comments about pit bulls. Advocating for pit bulls is a hill I’ll die on.
Just when I thought Hairpin Bridge would be *the* book that made me feel good about liking the author, 82% into the book, he makes another ignorant comment about pit bulls.
Comments like his are the reason thousands of pit bulls are euthanized in shelters all over this country every single day. Comments like his are the reason they have a bad stigma. Comments like his are the reason why I will only give his book one star and never read another book from him again.

I was a huge fan of No Exit, so finding out that Taylor Adams wrote another book had me excited. I very recently joined NetGalley, so finding the title here felt a little bit like Christmas. Thanks to NetGalley and Joffe Books for my advanced copy.
Lena Nguyen’s estranged twin sister, Cambry, jumped to her death off of Hairpin Bridge near Missoula, Montana. At least that's the official version, but Lena doesn't believe it. She travels to Montana to meet with Corporal Raymond Raycevic, the officer who had not only found Cambry's body, but had pulled her over for speeding an hour before she died.
So I'm not going to sugar coat this. The first several chapters just didn't draw me in. I assumed, based on No Exit, that things would accelerate once the plot thickened. Well, strap on those seat belts folks, this book accelerates! Some things I figured out quickly, other's caught me way off guard. There are a few moments where I wanted things to just be done, a few moments of "are you kidding me?" and then a few moments where I have to stop and catch a breath. A full gauntlet of feelings! I was going to rate the book at 4.5 stars, but the ending cinched a 5 star rating for me. Any book that has me looking the other way while my kids scarf down a whole bag of Oreos for breakfast is worthy of a 5 star rating. (Yeah, I just admitted that in public.) Thanks again for the ARC!!! I will be recommending this book to all my friends that love thrillers. (Sharing my review on Goodreads, and in a bit, Instagram.)

I had high hopes for Hairpin Bridge after enjoying No Exit so much, but I found myself tremendously disappointed. In No Exit, my heart was pumping, the tension remained high, and the atmosphere felt chilling. Hairpin Bridge, on the other hand, felt very choppy and read more like a first draft than a finished novel. I found the overall plot intriguing enough, but the execution could have used some work.

This one was great, but No Exit is still my fave between the two. I cannot wait to see what Taylor Adams comes up with next!!!

I loved Taylor Adam’s No Exit and counted it among one of my favorite reads when it was released, so it was a no brainer to request an ARC of Hairpin Bridge. Thank you NetGalley and Joffe Books for my ARC. I was so excited and couldn’t wait to devour it. Unfortunately, unlike No Exit, this wasn’t a homerun.
Lena Nguyen’s estranged twin sister has committed suicide by jumping from Hairpin Bridge, an old suspension bridge located on a remote section of highway in Montana. Unconvinced her sister truly killed herself, Lena asks the cop who found her body—Ray Raycevic—to meet her and answer questions. The two eventually end up on the bridge where the bulk of the story takes place.
The narrative alternates between the present, flashback sequences from Cambry, and blog entries and thoughts about Cambry from Lena. Had the story stuck with flashbacks and action in the present, it wouldn’t have floundered. I found the blog entries and Lena’s thoughts about her sister draggy and, at times, confusing.
The book takes a while to get off the ground. There’s a lot of talking back and forth between Lena and Raycevic with nothing happening. And the near-constant use of first names between two people who had never met grated on my nerves. There was even a point I found myself skimming.
And then . . .
The Taylor Adams novel I expected kicked in. From the moment a third party is introduced into the story, it’s a freight-train ride until the end. The second half is an anxiety-fueled rollercoaster brimming with twists, turns, and nail-biting action. I encountered things that repulsed me and things that had me on the edge of my seat. Part cat-and-mouse, part explosive confrontation, the conflict kept me glued. As with No Exit, this book would make an exceptional movie (fingers crossed and hoping). The ending was stellar, tying up multiple threads along with a surprise I didn’t expect. Were it not for the slow start and the intrusive blog entries I’d give Hairpin Bridge 5 stars. As it stands, I’m going with 3.5 rounded up to 4 for review purposes.
To read or not to read: READ!!! The last half makes the whole thing worthwhile.

If you read and enjoyed Taylor Adams’ first book, No Exit, then this will be a perfect next read. This story is part mystery, part thriller, part action and the author makes it all work. Be warned though, it is a darker read and thoroughly scary in parts!
The main character, Lena, is determined to find out what really happened after her sister dies from a fall from a bridge with a suicide note nearby. There are suspicious details like numerous calls to 911 and a partial text that only add to the mystery of what really happened to Cambry. I really enjoyed that Lena was a blogger and it added a different lens to the storyline.
This book is nonstop action. I really enjoy thrills and suspense but this book almost packed in too much for me. There was so much going on it was hard to stay in the scene at times and believe in what was happening. The story definitely ends with some unexpected twists that I really enjoyed. If you are looking for a fast-paced thriller this will be a perfect match for you. I will be excited to read more by Adams in the future.
Thanks to Taylor Adams, Joffe Books, and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Heartpounding, intense, hold your breath type of thriller! I wouldn’t expect anything less from Taylor Adams! I was desperate to find out what really happened on Hairpin Bridge and the events leading up to it! Told in the past and present with so much packed into 1 book!
Synopsis:
Meet Lena. She is determined to discover what happened to her twin sister, Cambry. There are several versions of the story, but which one is the truth? Lena will stop at nothing to get all the answers she desperately needs. Was it suicide? Or did something more sinister happen?
Thank you Joffe Books & NetGalley for this advanced readers copy!

That was one wildly intense ride! Hairpin Bridge had my heart pounding from the very beginning!
Lena's twin sister, Cambry, committed suicide by jumping off of Hairpin Bridge. Lena doesn't believe that story. Cambry's suicide text mentions a name ... the name of the highway patrolman that discovered the body. All Lena wants is to know the truth about what happened that night, so she sets up an in person meeting with this patrolman. And what better spot to have this meet-up than Hairpin Bridge??
This book was absolutely insane! My mistake was starting this book late at night with the intention of reading the first chapter or two... yea, well 1/3 of the way through, I finally put it down to get some sleep!
Alternating between Lena's present day meet-up with the patrolman and the story of the night that ended in Cambry's death, this book will keep you turning the pages. Hairpin Bridge is action-packed full of car chases and gun fights with a bad-ass female protagonist. Overall amazing read!

Lena Nguyen is on a mission to come to terms with her twin sister's suicide on Hairpin Bridge. Lena travels to Montana see for herself what happened to Cambry.
This book didn't hold my interest. It wasn't as suspenseful as I thought it might be.

This is a hard review to write because this was one of my most anticipated books of 2021 and it kid if fell flat for me. I was a big fan of No Exit and had hoped this one would have the same edge of your seat, can’t turn pages fast enough type of vibe, but sadly it didn’t. Not to say that there wasn’t a good story there, because there was. There was just a lot of filler and the pace kinda flatlined about half way. Unfortunately there weren’t any major twists-%the few there were were predictable. Maybe I expected too much, but I was kind of disappointed. It’s worth reading for sure, but I was wanting a “I can’t put it down” experience and it fell short.
Lena goes to look into what really happened to her sister for her podcast-it was claimed as suicide but Lena doesn’t believe that Cambry would do that, and in talking to the police officer that was at the scene, she feels more and more like there’s more to the story. There were chapters from both Lena’s and Cambry’s perspectives and then it turned out that they were just what Lena thought were Cambry’s perspective so then I had to read some of them again to have it make sense.
I think this will make an excellent movie but I wanted it to be an excellent book!
Thanks to Netgalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.
