A mum finds herself caught up in all sorts of problems, although her biggest one is getting her 13 year old son a liver transplant.
Her oldest son feels neglected but at least has his two friends to console him.
Dad is a vet and unfortunately gets caught up in supplying drugs to the mother of his sons girlfriend.
The plot thickens as time goes on and at times its difficult to keep up.
A very unseen twist at the end. A great read.

This is an interesting read, exploring how far parents would go to protect their children, what risks they feel are worth taking and how twisted lives and minds can get. Lucy and Aidan have two sons, both damaged in some way. Connor feels guilty about an incident that happened at a school residential course and Kieron is seriously ill, his liver failing. Lucy, being a doctor, feels she should be able to save everybody but especially her own family. Then everything get darker, as things happen that make Lucy feel she is losing her mind and Aidan.

This felt a bit of a slow burner, with hints of things to come but gradually the pace picked up nicely ending with a twist I’d never thought of. This moves from school, to hospital and almost all points in between, with different characters taking up the story, getting quite dark in places. A thought provoking read, and well written, certainly one not to miss.

Three lads from school all go missing. Why? This book drew me in to the story very early on and details the life of the Walsh family. There were plenty of twists and turns in this thriller and I will be seeking out more from this author. Thanks to Netgalley for an ARC.

Every family has its secrets.

Something has gone badly wrong at a school residential involving Connor, Ryan and Tyler. What connection might it have with them starting to disappear? Is Connor’s Dad hiding something because of a secret relationship? Is Connor’s Mum going mad, seeing things or what?

Plenty of twists and turns as the plot moves in and out of school, in an out of hospital and round many unexpected corners. I certainly didn’t guess what was coming. An addictive read

Louise Jensen has written several novels varyingly described as psychological thrillers or ‘domestic noir’ and this novel, her latest offering, sits on the boundary of both categories. The family at the heart of the novel consists of Lucy, an orthopaedic surgeon, her husband Aidan who works as a vet, and their two teenage sons Connor and Kieron. Connor’s best friends Tyler and Ryan also make regular appearances and there are allusions that something terrible must have happened to Connor's former girlfriend, Hailey. However, the family’s biggest anxiety at the start of the novel relates to Kieran’s terminal disease. That is, until the other teenage boys disappear one by one in mysterious circumstances: first Ryan, then Tyler, and finally also Connor….will their kidnapper make contact and if so, who is behind all of the evil that has suddenly befallen Lucy’s family?
A thriller with so many twists and turns that you will be dizzy just turning its pages, I thoroughly recommend this latest Louise Jensen novel. Thank you to NetGalley and to the publishers for the free ARC granted in exchange for this honest and unbiased review.

This thriller focuses on the Walsh family whose lives are devastated by events from the previous summer’s ‘residential’. Though the after-effects of trauma are well described, almost too little is given away in the first half of the book making it a less compelling read than expected. The pace picks up however in the second half and there are plenty of twists and turns leading to an interesting ending. As with many contemporary books, it’s written, and events unfold, in such a way that you feel you’d enjoy it more as a screen adaptation.

I was kindly sent an ARC of this new psychological thriller from Louise Jenson.
This novel centres around the Walsh family and the drama that unfolds when local teenage boys go missing.
This thriller has secrets, lies and more plot twists and turns than you can predict.
I enjoyed reading the story but found myself frustrated at times and willing to get to the end just to understand what was going on.
I found the pace was irregular, the first half building excellent suspense but revealing the plot points quite quickly right at the end.
Overall it is an interesting story with well written prose, worth a read but frustrating in places.

Interesting thriller from Louise Jenson. How far would you go to save your child? There are several plots going on in this book. Connor's friends are missing. They are 'The Taken'. But why have they gone, did someone know what happened with Hailey. Who is watching the house and is that white car following them.

I really enjoyed this book, it was well written and the story drew me in from the start. There are many twists and turns which are great, just when you think you’ve figured something another piece of the story reveals itself. Highly recommend and it is can’t put down thriller.

This psychological thriller begins intriguingly, and really pulls the reader into the story. Telling the story of the Walsh family, it is clear that all is not well as mother Lucy worries about the health of her younger son, elder son Connor is living with a huge weight of guilt over something that happened the previous year, and father Adrian is clearly hiding something. The story really gripped me until about two thirds through when it began to stretch credibility just too much. I pretty much lost faith in it once a plot twist involved identical twins, and yet they were a boy and a girl! How did that get through the editing process? Enjoyable but not outstanding.

The plot of this enthralling, breath taking psychological thriller centres around the four members of the Walsh family (mum) Lucy, (dad) Aidan, seventeen year old Connor and his younger brother Kieron who suffered from a life threatening, debilitating disability. Having a child who is seriously ill can either make a relationship stronger or push a couple apart, you really need to do the complete opposite to what Lucy and Adian did and actually support each other. You need to talk to each other and share the pressure of dealing with long stays in hospital, keeping a home running and offering love and support to any siblings that the sick child might have. I have personal experience of spending weeks and months in hospital with a sick child, the conflicting emotions and feeling like you are trapped in limbo from one day to the next. Having to place your trust in the expects doing the right thing for your child whilst you are struggling with feelings of hopelessness and inadequacy. So I could fully empathise with Lucy and Aidan's fears for Kieron's future but that doesn't mean that I thought the couple were very likeable for various reasons. I really liked Connor, he wasn't the obnoxious best that you usually find in thrillers book in books and on tv, he genuinely cared about his family especially Kieron. He also cared about and was very concerned about his two missing friends Tyler and Ryan. They were a realistic trio of teenage boys who each had their own individual personality and character traits, they shared a really close friendship and I loved the banter that they shared during their interactions. Yes, there were things that they could have done differently but they were only seventeen and we if we're honest, most of us probably made mistakes at some time when we were younger.

The story is written in three parts and told from the perspectives of Lucy, Aidan, Connor and Ryan. The first two parts were fast paced and built in intensity as the story rocketed towards its shocking conclusion. These parts were packed with mystery and intrigue. Who was driving the white car that Lucy insisted was following her and that she kept seeing parked outside their house? Why did Connor keep getting the feeling that he was being watched? Where were Tyler and Ryan? What secrets were Lucy and Aidan keeping from each other and Connor? In the third part we learned what had happened to the characters after the shocking events during part two.

Omg,Wow...just wow, this book is absolutely bloody incredible, it's a fast paced, unputdownable, gripping thriller that is written in short, snappy chapters that give the reader a very bad case of just one more chapter syndrome. I would have read the whole book in one sitting but unfortunately my old eyes had other ideas. It's ingenious plotted, keeps the reader guessing, has a number of unexpected mind blowing, jaw dropping twists and a very satisfying, realistic conclusion. Louise Jensen is a very talented author who I think has excelled herself with this latest book. Worth far more than five stars, very very highly recommended and my absolute favourite read of this year so fsr.

Ellen the mother an orthopaedic surgeon who is currently not working, Aidan the father a vet and the two boys Connor and Kieron. Kieron has some rare possibly terminal disease while Connor is a sensitive 17 years old. In the picture, there are also two of Connor's good friends: Ryan and Tyler. We know that something happened to Connor's girlfriend Hailey's but we don't know what. First Tyler then Ryan disappear and everyone fears that Connor might be the next as the three were always together and they were together the night something happened to Hailey. Connor disappears as well but it is not what it seems.

The author is the master of psychological suspense. She sets the scene, reels the reader in and proceeds to twist this way and that. I always fall for the red herrings along the way!

This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

All For You is a family-focused thriller with an emphasis on the Walsh Family and the trials in which they all face. Lucy, a mother struggling to cope with her youngest son, potentially fatal illness. Aidan, the husband and father figure that is attempting to cope with his own mistakes. Conner, the eldest son who has been involved with a terrible incident connected with his school life, and Kieron, the youngest son thrust into the depths of it all. The crux of the novel is how the family cope and come to terms with the vast amount of secrets each of them keep hidden and how they impact the lives of those around them as they are revealed throughout the story.

Each of the characters has its own merits, each of them having its own personalities, strengths, and weaknesses. Throughout the book, as different elements to their character are revealed, I found my thoughts on them changing; initially despising Aidan for my assumptions about his actions only to have him earning my sympathies further down the line. A kinship for Lucy for her desperation when it comes to her youngest son, only to be horrified when learning the truth. I felt a keen empathy for Conner and his overall situation and reveled in the hope that radiates from him as the book progresses. Each of the character's thoughts, interactions, and mannerisms felt connected but unique to themselves. There’s a real sense of family between them all, but that of a family that has been broken by what they’re going through and their own individual actions. I felt connected to them as a reader and along with an absolutely magnificent plot, I was eager to turn the pages and discover the truth to all their turmoils.

Louise Jensen has been extremely clever through the writing of her book. With masterful use of deflection and assumptions. Leading the reader down dark alleyways of prejudiced thought; seeming to pick up the thread of well-known tropes only to turn them on their heads when they ‘big reveals’ happen. Nothing in All For You is as it seems and I am in awe with how much this book blind-sided me and kept me guessing. Leaving behind the question of ‘How far would you go for your children?’ as a bold discussion point once the novel has come to its final conclusion. All For You is a bold book that lingers with the reader long after it has finished.

Each of the character threads compels the reading in similar ways; the desire to learn the truth. What happened with Conners school to warrant such dire treatment? Who is Aidan skipping out on his family to liaise with? Can Lucy keep herself and her family together long enough? These questions adapt and change as the novel progresses and with each new level of questioning, there’s a desire to know more, building the tension along with the events. It’s a masterfully crafted story with deeply connecting characters the propel the reader through the pages, which only get better as the threads weave together.

If there was one critique to the novel; some of the scenarios felt a little far-fetched. Some of the depths the characters went to for their families became very extreme, but in relation to the rest of the novel, the reasoning behind them was solid enough to not cause me too many lingering doubt about the authors writing skills. The reasoning behind such events panned out and just because they aren’t the lengths that I would go to, doesn’t mean that others (both readers and characters) won’t go past beyond personal boundaries.

There’s a complete feeling of love, loss, and tragedy to this book that might come across as a bit smotheringly dark to some readers; while there is a flicker of hope that grows throughout as the story progresses, it is fleeting. So, if you like your stories to feel more upbeat, even your thrillers, then this might be a book to pass up – personally, I adore darker themes books, so for me, All For You was the perfect book.

Each of these plot elements does come together and wrap up into a clear, concise ending – something that is always appreciated when compared to the plethora of open-ended thrillers. The last 5% of the book is spent wrapping up the stories of the characters and filling in all the blanks that could easily be left behind; it was a fulfilling experience seeing ‘what happened next’ to some of the characters.

This was my first experience of Louise Jensen's writing, her style sat very well with me. Being clear in her descriptions and dialogue without lacking in personality. Her ability to weave deflection in All For You was sublime and was an absolute treat to read; just when you think you have it all figured out, you really don’t! I’d love to read more of Louise Jensens novels to have the rug pulled from underneath me, once again.

Another amazing page turner by this most talented author. Louise Jensen who never fails to grip me and drag me into the plot immediately. The prologue to this book was superb and you know that you are in for a novel that will twist and turn in many directions.

Lucy and Aidan Walsh are dealing with far more than your average family: younger son Kieron is desperately ill whilst older son Connor is removing himself from family and school life (after a prank went badly wrong) and clearly keeping secrets after two of his friends disappearing. All of this is driving a wedge between the couple and throw into the mix, Lucy is convinced that someone is watching their house... is someone after Connor too?

This is a book packed with tension and it meant that I had to keep reading: there was no let up to the suspense in the first half and I needed to get some answers/information before putting it down.

If you like being drawn in and kept hanging through the revelations (I found myself being proved wrong more than once), then this is the book for you! The only small downside is the ending- without a doubt surprising but I found it a little dark!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read in exchange for my honest review.

All For You - Louise Jensen

The first book I've read by this highly regarded author and I really enjoyed it!

An unusual, unexpected psychological thriller about a family, parents Lucy and Aidan and their two sons Connor and Kieron.

One of those books which don't give much away at the start, but drip-feeds snippets of information and character motivations for the reader to piece together, and
I found it very compelling. At a few points I initially questioned the believability, before something happens or is explains and it all makes complete sense again and had me firmly back on track and hanging on the next chapter.

Plenty of unexpected twists, great characters and it builds a real momentum. I will definitely look out for more books by the author.

Thanks to Netgalley and HQ
