What a gripping thriller.
This was a very disturbing but good read.
A bit slow but I really enjoyed
Thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish and could not get enough of.
This is a must read for anyone who enjoys a good thriller!!
Absolutely loved the characters, the plot, the tension - impossible to put it down.
Certainly recommended!
I love Louise’s books and this one was as gripping and engrossing as the rest, I like how Louise takes a thought provoking idea/ discussion and builds a story around it and how far any parent would go for their children and how all the different strands of the plot were connected at the end. Definitely one to read.
Managed to read this in one day. Wow! Amazing story, well written, with lots of twists and turns, and very likeable characters. Kept me guessing til the end.
Oh my goodness, best book I’ve read this year!
It got right under my skin, to the point when I was out walking the dog I started getting nervy around white cars. Superbly written thriller with so much intrigue at the start, it grabs you right in and you care about the characters and what has happened.
If you read one book this year make it this one.
The idea behind this book was a good one, but I found the melodramatic writing style frankly irritating. The characters were all a bit unconvincing, and on the whole this book was rather disappointing.
A superb read that pulls you from page 1 and doesn’t let go. I read this so quickly, I didn’t want it to end! Another excellent book by Louise.
This book has given me a real dilemma with this review.
Firstly, the prologue to this story is absolutely brilliant, and upon reading it I knew this was going to be a great read.
I would say for the first half of the book, I felt so frustrated that the level of suspense was so high that I felt I was loosing quite a bit of patience and started to feel quite agitated with it. I’m still working out whether this is a good thing or not as I think that prevented me from really gelling with the characters.
Once I got into the second half of the book, that is where I really felt hooked as things were coming to light as to what was really going on. It is a great storyline but I did foresee quite a lot of what was going to happen but I’m putting that down to the fact that I read a lot of thrillers so I think my mind is just tuned in to that way of thinking. I did also feel at times that some things seemed improbable but, this is fiction and I needed to remind myself of that 😂
Overall, I did enjoy this book as Louise really is a fabulous thriller writer.
Such a complex book exploring the issue of secrets,
The author is so talented that she can switch from largely disturbing situations to delicate and more family orientated ones with ease.
This is an exceptional thriller that will not quit until the very last page, nothing is for certain and nothing predictable happens. You will find yourself questioning everything.
Brilliant
As ever Louise Jensen doesn't disappoint. All For You was full of twists and turns. It's refreshing to read a novel in this genre where I haven't got it figured out by the end.
I enjoyed the characterisation and linking of characters. None were supplementary.
The ending will certainly have many readers asking 'What would I do?' It may seem a little far-fetched but this is fiction and the motives were building throughout.
A thought-provoking and intelligent thriller.
I LOVE Louise Jensons stories so I’m very happy to be reviewing All For You her latest novel out on 28th October. I’ll start by sayings ITS FANTASTIC!
It’s true. This is one of those books you long to come upon, the type of story that from the first page takes you into another world! And what a fucked up world it is!
I won’t give any plot away since we all know how bad I am at that ha. There’s a few different threads though and as they weave together what we have is true magic. (Scary magic but magic nonetheless!)
Dark with plenty of twists. My favourite.
I devoured this and think you will too!
5/5
OMG!!!WOW!!!WOW!!LOVED IT!LOVED IT! LOVED IT!.
A cracking read full of secrets, heartbreak, love, loss and family. I could not put this book down and their are not enough words to explain how much I loved it, it was gripping, brilliant opening chapter which just sucks you in. A beautiful family unit ripped apart by illness, lies and deceit. But at the centre a very brave, scared mother and wife who will do anything to save the life of her child. The twists in this book were mind blowing, I thought I knew where the story was going, then a twist happened and it went in a completely different direction. This really is a remarkable read, which gave me chills, whilst at the same time I wanted to sob. I felt like I was actually there in the book living with the Walsh family. This is one of those books which you will never forget. I bloody well loved every single word, every single chapter, every single character and I will recommend this book to everyone. A psychological suspense which pushes the boundaries between what's right and what's wrong. Thank you Netgally and HQ for the ARC, I really appreciate it.
Wow! This certainly was a tense and gripping thriller. Without giving away any spoilers, it was totally unpredictable and what I thought I had worked out was not right at all. Best of Louise Jensen's books yet!
Spectacular! When I read The Stolen Sisters I really thought LJ couldn’t better it, but this new book is so very good that I have to revise my opinion!
Lucy and Aidan Walsh, along with their older boy Connor, have so many secrets between them, that it’s no wonder that tempers and emotions run riot. Their youngest son, Kieron, is desperately ill, and family life revolves around him, not always for the best.
The twists and turns in the story come thick and fast, with the last few chapters revealing some true shockers!
I loved this book, read in one day, and would thoroughly recommend.
Thank you NetGalley.
I have read all of Louise’s books and I have to admit each one gets even better than the last! I read ‘All for You’ in one sitting because I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next. I was blown away by all the secrets intertwined and every time I thought I knew what was coming next, I was pleasantly shocked to be completely wrong. The characters felt well rounded and I had no trouble at all visualising each one. The writing as always was masterfully crafted and well paced. I loved it!
Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. I have liked every book this author has written and this was no exception. Fast paced story telling, great characters and had me hooked to the end. Would recommend.
WOAH!!! This book is a must read for lovers of thrillers. I read this in one evening, I just couldn’t put it down. It’s a while since I’ve picked up a book that’s instantly gripped me like this. Five stars just doesn’t seem enough.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in return for an honest and unbiased opinion.
Louise Jensen does a spectacular job depicting a family in crisis and with everyone having something to hide, it is no surprise things reach a boiling point very quickly! A great book!
All For You by Louise Jensen is an absolutely gripping compulsive contemporary psychological thriller. I could not put it down and greedily devoured it.
The story surrounds one family and some friends. It seems like everyone is hiding a guilty secret – but is it the same one?
Within the family one of the teenage boys is ill. Living with a ticking health condition puts a strain on all the relationships.
The other brother is consumed with guilt from various sources including his part in a teenage prank that had far reaching results. We witness that for every choice we make, we must accept the consequences.
Loss affects a whole family. “I’m sorry I’m alive.” Some things are just impossible to ever leave behind.
Teens on the cusp of manhood try to be independent but sometimes you just need your mum. “He wants to push her away but he so badly needs a hug.”
Accidents alter lives. As characters adapt, there are some difficult emotions to face.
Louise Jensen is the master of the psychological suspense. She sets the scene, reels the reader in and proceeds to twist this way and that. I always fall for the red herrings along the way!
All For You was a simply fabulous read. I cannot wait for more from Louise Jensen.
I received a free copy of the book from Net Galley. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.
First book of this author I have read. Thank you Net Galley and the publishers.
I regret to say that I really struggled to finish this book. For some odd reason it felt very American despite being based in UK- maybe it was spellings and words like "residency". The character of Lucy drove me up the wall. From the beginning with her attitude to the paediatrician and her general demeanour I kept thinking that a psychiatrist might be a good point of call. With a child with some obscure liver disease (for some reason they can never have a straightforward condition-it has to be rare and one only us medics will have heard of) and an unfaithful husband the woman goes on a single handed crusade to save her youngest son. Not that the son had a voice in his condition as he was ignored completely during the consultation! Yes I can understand the desire to help her child but ye gods the woman was intensely irritating. I didn't connect with the characters or the writing style. No matter lots do, although the quotes from all the other authors in front of the plot synopsis are all about different books not the one we were reading which is a bit well... If you are going to quote reviews they should be about the book you are reading. So far fetched in the end-off the scale.
Wow! A real heart pounder! I loved this book! It was thrilling, it had intrigue, suspense, and lots of heart pounding moments! Lots of twists and turns!! Definitely some jaw dropping moments! I highly recommend reading this book! Its well worth the thrill! Read it in one sitting it was the sort of book that I just couldn’t seem to put down. All characters were well written and explored I especially liked Connors character. Fab read, go out and grab yourself a copy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
